Property Ratings at The Sans Souci
oh my gosh where should i start. 1. location. the place's right on S Main st so very noisy. the entire building shakes when big trucks pass by. also right next to the big house. if you're not a super football fan consider somewhere else, 'cause you won't be able to do anything on game days - road closed, buses either delayed or on detour, streets filled with people, can't hear anything even in your apt with all windows locked up. 2. athletics campus and sounding area is known for high crime rate (well, relatively). if you live here, definitely no wandering in the street after dark, and buy insurance! also weird things happen here too, i.e. someone *accidentally* smashes his/her windows at midnight repeatedly, and if you think 911 cares you can't be more wrong. 3. the place is run by Cabrio properties. they have probably only one agent so 10 out of 10 times when you call you'll have to speak to the answering machine and they'll probably get back to you after a few days if you're lucky. staff in the company - funny to watch how their altitude changes literally right after you put your name on the lease. 4. 2-3 weeks after movin they're gonna ask you to renew the lease, otherwise they'll start to show your place to others, even you still have almost a year on your lease. no respect to privacy whatsoever. most other companies don't do this. get yourself a copy of ann arbor privacy regulation. you need to know your rights. 5. they have no on-site maintenance here in San Souci so any non-emergency issues you'll have to wait wait and wait.
The unit itself is just fine, spacious with ample storage and reasonably modern appliances. There are a few bits and pieces coming apart, some laminating in the kitchen and rust in the sink, but the utilities are all in good working order. Where it all starts to break down is the location: Right across from the University of Michigan Football Stadium may be some peoples' dream, but every other weekend in the fall it's just unbearable. The throngs are outrageously boisterous and partying goes on all day and night. The neighbors leave something to be desired, as well--cars coming and going at all hours of the night and blasting their radios are an unwanted disturbance to those ground floor apartments whose bedrooms face the parking lot.
