MacArthur Park was billed as Los Angeles’ version of New York’s Central Park when it was under construction. Today it has become much more than the green grass and lake that comprise it. The park and the 2.72 mile area that surrounds it — also called Westlake — is one of LA’s most historic neighborhoods.
Victorian homes and apartment complexes characterize the area, but newer developments are going up quickly. On the east side of the park is where you’ll find an eclectic mix of bars and restaurants. Big-box stores will take care of most of your retail needs, while entertainment lovers will appreciate the Staples Center residing just across the 110.
The park is obviously the biggest calling card of the neighborhood, and it has become increasingly well-maintained over the last few years. Enjoy a picnic near the lake and the expansive view of the LA skyline in this up-and-coming locale.

Property Ratings at The Roxy Apartments
The building isn't as bad as it seemed. In fact my expectations were exceeded when I moved in. i was talking to my neighbour and he told building wasn't properly managed in the past. Since the new management took over, they have started improving the condition. My unit is not the best unit in the world, but it's been remodeled. I have hardwood floor, new fridge, new stove. Overall it worths the rent I'm paying.
Nice apt with nice new lobby and the spcae is a good size with a clean upgraded kitchen. Close to Downtown LA and cool area..
Hi. I live in a studio apartment with my son thats 4yrs old, boyfriend, and 2 small dogs. We have been here for 5yrs never late on the rent and they never fix anything that needs to be fixxed. There are bed bugs and roaches and i worry about my sons health. My son has autisim and so i am not able to work because i have to be with him qhen he gets out of school. Please, we could really use the money to get in a bigger place, nicer area. Oh did i mention lots of meth and crack heads in the building. Please pick us. Thank you.
