Property Ratings at The Retreat at Rio Salado
If I could leave a zero star I would. On the surface everything looks great, but management has absolutely no clue what they are doing. All parking is assigned even uncovered spots unlike every other apartment on the planet so there is ZERO guest parking to which management doesn't see an issue with. AND you have to pay for your parking spot even if it's uncovered. Paying to upgrade to covered or a garage is fine but for uncovered?? The pool is nice but to use the TV's you have to checkout a remote with the office and if you want to do so on Sunday's then try again cause they are closed on Sunday's. The gate at the entrance is broken more often than it is working. The package concierge is broken more often than it isn't and if you are unlucky enough to have a package in there when it is broken you are charged for not picking it up. They encourage a towing company to come in and tow anyone not in their assigned spot even if no one reported the car. Management is not interested in feedback to improve the community. They will say they've been doing this for 25 years in the most smug way they can and tell you to deal with it. Just stay away it is not worth it.
I can’t say enough great good things about the staff at The Retreat at Rio Salado. I also feel like I live at a hotel daily gorgeous views and great amenities. 10/10 would highly recommend.
Love the staff and the apartments are fantastic it’s been great so far. I love everything about the apartments. The pool is beautiful I’m so grateful to have that as my view everyday
This place is great! Great location, great amenities, quiet and I am so happy that I moved here. Being so close to Tempe Marketplace, the 101, and the new Cubs stadium is so nice and offers a lot to do without traveling far.
Any potential renters please read all of the one star reviews and don’t be fooled by the fake generic five star reviews. Not only is there no parking for your friends or family to visit but they will charge you for parking instead even u covered parking. That is insane. You will never be able to get a hold of the office by phone, nor will you ever be able to talk to the manager regarding any issues you have. If you try the staff will litterally ignore you.
Listen to the negative reviews - they're legit. There's NO guest parking, and they oversell tenant parking so everyone parks in fire lanes, crosswalks, in front of garages, doors, etc., blocking the road, so good luck actually getting through the parking lot. The tow company is nonexistent, and the front office doesn't enforce parking. Buildings are basically a dump. They're not cleaned regularly and there's always trash in the hallways. The radio in the gym doesn't work (and you can't change the station), and the tvs are always on home shopping (and no remote to change). Front office is barely responsive, but don't worry, you'll definitely get emails about people parking in front of the leasing office, causing a parking issue for them.
I have been living here for almost 2 years, and I cannot wait for my lease to expire. This place is so noisy. I have not gotten a decent night's sleep in about a year. The hallways are full of trash and always smell like weed (despite being a non-smoking property). It's impossible to drive/park your car in the parking lot because non-residents are constantly parking illegally in fire lanes and crosswalks. And worst of all, management is practically non-existent. You will never get a resolution to any issues you have with anything. I have brought these issues up multiple times with management, and they simply ignore me. They are happy to cash my checks and delete my emails. At these prices, you can find any number of nice, new properties in the area without suffering these same problems. Avoid if you're smart.
Only advice i can give stay away from here. 1)Walls are thin and you will hear footsteps easily. 2)doors are broken most of the time 3)my electricity is out 3rd time in a week. My all foods on fridge are trash. It is still not fixed (i will keep this review updated and refresh it when it is fixed) 4) FEEL LUCKY IF YOU CAN FIND A PARKING SPOT 5) pool is so noisy I recommend you think about it before sign it
This property has it all and the location is what sold us. Right off the freeway and close to everything! The layouts are great and it has awesome amenities !! The staff was incredibly helpful and positive, I’d like to shout out Kylie for all the help and laughs throughout the tour.

Please be careful when you sign the lease with these establishment. They say something and put something else on the lease agreement. I was guaranteed 4 weeks free on the phone and then they changed it 2 weeks on lease agreement. If I were to sign a lease with them again then I would read every single line of the lease agreement and make sure they don't go back their verbal commitment.

Good location, good layouts, nice appliances, good amenities. Its college town so be prepared for some noise at night. The parking is horrible. Do not live here if you ever plan to have guest visit you.

My husband and I have lived here for one year and have renewed our lease. The leasing team is amazing and very responsive to our needs. This is a huge plus and the main reason why we enjoy living here. The maintenance team dose a amazing job in keeping the property clean in all areas. The only negative is some of the pet owners do not pick up behind their pets, which can be annoying. I highly recommend living here!!!

Broadstone Rio Salado is a great place to live at. The staff is always nice & helpful. When walking around the apartment coming into contact with other residents everyone is always saying hello or has a smile on their face. I feel safe and comfortable here.

My experience at Broadstone has been more negative than positive. The management has very poor communication and they do not enforce the non-smoking lease policy. We had spoken to other residents and all of us can't wait for our leases to be up so we can move out.

I've lived here for several months and I keep running into issue after issue. It's a "Smoke-free Community" and yet I smell and see people smoking on a daily basis. No matter how many times I have reported it, nothing has changed. My biggest issue is that I have not received a single email from management since I moved in. No notifications on updated policies or anything. They said they sent out an email to our building about the smoke, but I never got it. There have been major changes to the parking and I'm still not sure what is going on. I emailed in to ask for clarification and have not heard anything.

We've been living here for 3 months and have been dealing with our apartment smelling like pot since we moved in. At first we were told to email the front desk any time it smelled, and then a month later we were told we actually had to call security because the front desk workers can't walk the halls for themselves to determine that people are smoking pot. The best part is, they think it's only one party that's guilty when it's practically the entire building toking up or smoking cigars at all hours of the day. The first floor hallway always smells regardless of what management has done to cover the odor, and it's embarrassing to have guests come over and have to walk through what smells like a drug den . For a place that advertises as luxary apartments, they aren't doing such a good job at keeping it that way. There are puke stains in the stairwells, someone keeps leaving their bags of dog crap everywhere in the parking lot and sides of buildings to be run over by cars or stepped on, packages have gone missing from the mail room... I could go on. We all signed a lease that states it is a "smoke free" community and if we break the lease we get kicked out. Yet management only tries to cover the smells of the ones breaking the lease rather than fixing the cause. Their ten day notices have not worked and only seemed to made the issue worse. After reading other reviews I know I am not the only one complaining about how poorly they are running things here.
