Property Ratings at The Prescott
The Prescott Apartments have serious management challenges. Frequent turnover makes it difficult for staff to maintain accurate records of safety deposits, application fees, and administrative charges. During my move-out, I discovered discrepancies in the accounting ledger, which raised concerns about transparency. Additionally, when I informed management that I would not be renewing my lease, their response was unprofessional and dismissive. Overall, the lack of consistency and accountability makes this property hard to recommend.
Do yourself a favor and stay far away from The Prescott ATX on South Congress. This place is a disaster. The front gate is broken most of the time, which means just about anyone can walk in — and they do. It’s not uncommon to see homeless people wandering the property, sometimes even carrying knives, looking for empty apartments to crash in. It feels anything but safe. Management is a joke. They’re impossible to get ahold of, and when you do, don’t expect much. The staff turnover is insane — you’ll talk to someone one day and they’re gone the next. And forget about getting help from corporate — they never answer emails or pick up the phone. The property itself is just nasty. They don’t clean the hallways or elevators — ever. You’ll regularly see dog poop just sitting there, even in the mailroom. And if you’re not into the constant smell of weed in every hallway, tough luck — it’s everywhere. I’ve lived in Austin for a while, and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had with an apartment complex. Between the safety issues, trash conditions, and totally useless management, this place is a hard no.

My experience at Prescott Apartments has been nothing short of a disaster. Despite being advertised as "luxury," this place falls woefully short of that standard. From the very first day, my apartment was in deplorable condition. The pest control has been ineffective, leaving me dealing with an ongoing cockroach infestation despite paying for these services. Security is a major concern here. The entrance door has been left unrepaired for months, posing a serious risk. We even experienced a burglary of our storage unit and were met with a shocking lack of urgency and response from management. This indifference is evident in their frequent neglect of maintenance requests and poor management of common areas. The pool area is also problematic. It is often filthy due to people from the surrounding neighborhood and students bringing their friends. The gates are frequently left wide open, allowing unauthorized access, which compromises security and hygiene. Common areas are dirty, with trash and dog waste left unaddressed. Appliances in the apartment trigger the fire alarms, making them practically unusable. The property is frequently visited by individuals under the influence of drugs, and I have felt unsafe due to threats from people asking for money. There are also multiple instances of vehicles being broken into or left unattended, raising concerns about them being stolen. Additionally, the noise from barking dogs starting at 4 a.m. is intolerable, especially considering the property’s “luxury” label. The management’s negligence and disregard for resident safety and cleanliness make this place far from the high standard they claim to offer. Overall, my time at Prescott Apartments has been marked by ongoing issues and a lack of effective resolution from management. I strongly advise prospective residents to reconsider, as the living conditions here are far from acceptable and do not reflect the “luxury” advertised.

Gated community where the gate is broken, what seems like every other week. Amazing security where cars get broken into. Also, its okay for some people to have dogs off leash, while its unacceptable for others. A little confusing and poorly managed, or rather absent management. Package locker doesn't work, but when you do get in the locker, it is nearly impossible to find your package, since it is so disorganized.
