The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Pines at Castle Rock
AVOID at all cost! It may be pretty on the outside but it's awful. Unregulated dog breeds, b.s upcharges, MONTHLY car parking charges -8$ for one 25$ for the second, the dog park is absolutely disgusting, poop everywhere, weekly cop/fire truck sightings, the pools are constantly either being fixed/ packed with unsupervised children, or half the water is spilled out, people wondering around the complexes nightly, I could go on. Go somewhere else!
Nohely made the leasing process easy and she was there for me every step of the way. She genuinely cares for her clients and she knows her stuff! 10/10 would recommend. The property is a great location and there are lots of things to do included with my lease. (Kids love the pools) Bonus that they had a pool party the day after I moved in, it felt like a welcome party. Thanks again Nohely!
It's a roof over my head. I transfered from phase 2 to phase 1 ( think that's what they call it) and the apt I'm in is crappy. Cupboards are old and gross. The wall along the floor gross, you can barely use under the sink in the kitchen and bathroom because of how deep it is and sinks. I saw the apt the day before I was supposed to move and cried. I'm on fixed income with section 8 and this apt feels like it. I can't believe how much the one bedrooms are. They are competing with the market but they shouldn't with how old and run down they are. The appliances are as cheap as they come not like other Apts in this price range. Don't fooled by the pretty paint job. I had maintenance come to fix a blind. He did what I already tried which didn't fix it. When they were leaving one said to the other while laughing "wonder how soon before she calls to have us come back"! Knowing full well they didn't fix it. Very few pick up their dog poop! I wish I could attach photos so everyone could see I'm not exaggerating.
The worst place to live, mold in apartments, my mechanic wife got sick they had to move asap and management doesn't know what they are doing. No sidewalks on the complex for safety, maintenance is ok, they don't know how to properly cut blinds for your windows
As a previous reviewer said, the apartments are moldy! I have had several problems wrong with this unit from mold to ants. The doors don’t latch and had them re sealed from maintenance... still don’t latch completely unless the door is locked, had the windows replaced after it snowed and could barley keep the apartment warm with the heat at 80. Had to have someone come and clean the vents two times before I could use my dryer. Water leak that made all my clothes smell like mildew. You can kiss taking a hot shower for longer than 10minutes goodbye. Kitchen is falling apartment, like literally, one of the cabinets is coming off the wall. Trust me, you CAN find better! Oh and the staff at the leasing office, be prepared to call them at least twice or wait for an email 2 weeks later.
When we moved in the apartment was filthy and stunk of mold. We mopped and cleaned the carpet over and over but the smell of mold still lingered. The Master bathroom had no ventilation and you literally step out of the tub into the toilet. The floors were uneven. like if you were walking in the dining room you would literally trip because there was such a tremendous dip in the floor and we were on the second floor which was unsettling. the kitchen floor also had a very strange indentation where you could really twist your ankle if you didn't pay attention to where the dip in the floor is. I requested several times for maintenance to come address the fact that the bathroom light switch didn't work. In order to turn off the bathroom light I either had to unscrew the bulbs or shut off the whole back panel on the fuse box. My daughter got locked inside of the apartment and maintenance had to climb up the balcony and remove the lock from the inside in order to get the door open. I couldnt close the bathroom door in the master bedroom because it was crooked and uneven many of the doors in this apartment were uneven and damaged upon move in. I have never live somewhere so terrible. It's somewhat affordable but it was dirty and falling apart. On top of that when we moved they charged 90 dollars for cleaning when it was definitely cleaner than the day I moved in and had to where my shoes for 24 hours until I could get the carpets thoroughly cleaned. The area is not very desirable either the police are constantly at this complex arresting people. There are so many shady residents watching you from their balconies. I am ashamed to have lived here! we moved a month early because we could not take the noise and the poor structure of this apartment complex. I never write negative reviews but this complex charged me to replace 2 doors in this apartment that were already damaged at move in. I want to warn people before you end up paying to upgrade their apartments for them. They count on people missing small things on the move in inspection sheet and they take full advantage of it and charge you to fix their dilapidated apartments. The leasing staff is unprofessional, rude and incompetent. Save yourself a huge hassle and find somewhere else to live.
Worst place I have ever lived. Office is full of liars who just want your money and will charge you for things and damage that you have not done. Also, this is not a safe place to live. Whether it's the water line leaks and breaks or the mold all around the apartment, it'll only cause you trouble and headaches. DON'T DO IT.
I absolutely love living here! The grounds are very well maintained; the staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable; and the community is quiet. The assistant manager Amanda has answered any questions I've had without hesitating, and the compliance manager Amy has been very helpful as well. Robert and Mark, maintenance employees, are quick to say hello with a friendly smile whenever I'm out walking my dog while they're out doing a job. Just last week I put a ticket in for my AC to be fixed and Dom was here within just a few hours to fix it. I truly feel like this is a family-oriented community. The monthly community events are always a great time and well thought out, and I was even welcomed by some neighbors when I moved in. They even have monthly newsletters that let you know what is coming up for the community events. My apartment was very clean and felt brand new when I moved in, and the staff made sure that I was happy with the condition of it before I settled in. My daughter loves the playground, which is very well maintained, and my dog is very happy to have a place to run around at the dog park! I am very happy to live here, I would absolutely recommend it to my friends and family as an affordable and comfortable apartment community, and I intend on renewing my lease!
I lived in the Pines at Castle Rock since September 2014 to the end of 2017. And the worst staff ever seen in my life, because Property Manager Melisa is totally incompetent when any resident gave her any problem. I remember that some residents complained about mold in their apartments , and she never did nothing , only when they called several times to Douglas county for health inspections. Also, the maintenance is the worst that I've seen in my life, because they never did any repair on time and with quality . I informed several times to the Office about some problems in my apartment , and the maintenance responded after several months of my reports. My evaluation about the management is zero , My evaluation about the maintenance is zero , too. I never recommend and I never will recommend nobody to rent in THIS WORST PLACE TO LIVE !!!
We have lived at the Pines at Castle Rock Apartments for almost a year and a half. We have enjoyed our stay here very much. The management and maintenance have been very good. The Cares team does an excellent job with their event planning. Our patio set off a greenbelt area and we enjoy sitting out during the evening. The place is very quiet.
My kids and I love living here, the Cares Team really helps make it feel like a close community. The kids have lots of room to play and we enjoy being close to the schools.
BEWARE OFTHIS COMPLEX They will overcharge you for rent, you are much better off paying the extra (if any) at another complex for better commodities. I was promised a gym which was completely unavailable the entire time I lived there. Two pools were also promised, however, only one was open each summer I lived there and the other was not……The one that was open was incredibly dirty and I refused to let me three young girls into the pool. I never complained about the loud nighttime activity, the contstant smell of pot in the air (and my bathroom, the loudly arguing neighbors, the crowing rooster (!!), etc. I cleaned the disgustingly dirty bathtub and fixed the garbage disposal four times because it is so old and abused AS WELL as paid for professional carpet cleanings…… I was charged over a thousand dollars in fees when I moved out...despite the fact that I left the place in a much cleaner state than when I arrived….makes sense. Basically – save yourself – spend your hard earned money somewhere else.
I have lived here almost 2 years. My apartment is spacious. Office staff is helpful. Cares staff is awesome. Great place to live.
Only 50 characters is NOT enough! Office staff is useless now!!! Melissa is a liar, Jen is useless, the leasing staff have NO idea what customer service is and the maintenance men try sleeping with the residents. Clint has approach me several times. GROSS! Definitely not renewing!!!!
My husband and I have lived at the Pines for almost a year now and we have really enjoyed it! Our neighbors are pretty friendly, there are lots of kids around the community playing, and it's very pet-friendly. Any time that we've had an issue with our apartment, it has been addressed pretty quickly thanks to the maintenance team. The office staff are helpful when they can be but often seem overwhelmed with lots to do. They have begun to renovate some apartments but most that haven't been changed are quite outdated. There is a lot of open space on property where you can walk a dog, sit in the grass, or kick the soccer ball! The Pines is a nice community and I'm grateful to call it my home!
I have lived at the Pines @ Castle Rock for one year, they have really cleaned this property up! Melissa the property manager and all of her staff have been very professional. They are always doing something to improve the site, or making the residents happy, I would highly recommend these apartments.
They change rules of garage and expect you to move stuff right away!! If you have a garage it's up to you what you put in it!! For them to micromanage you is just ridiculous!! They are very hard to deal with and don't treat you very well
This apartment complex is under new management. They are trying but it is going to take time.
The apartments we are staying in has taken care of us when we had a flood in June. They paid for our hotel when we displaced. They redid the apt. After 3 weeks we moved bavk in. They also did landscaping to fix future floding issues. They have been very transparent and helpfull through the process.
We have been here 2 years and management changed this spring. So far haven't really seen a big improvement other than they finally fixed the swimming pool and streets (patching pot holes). It seems like a lot of tenets slip through the background and credit check due to the high amount of evictions and police having to be called out. Many of the dog owners do not pick up their droppings. I understand they are raising the rent due to the market but that does not excuse your lack of professionalism. It seems like the good tenets are being punished for the bad tenets behavior and actions.
Castle rock is ever growing with right down the road, one of the biggest shopping centers in the country is being developed. The pines has had a very bad reputation in the past. The color was run down, high rent, management was creepy and would "stalk" tenants to see if people were lying about who lives there. Well upon moving in the IREA technician was talking about how much better the new management is. They are repainting all buildings. Remodeling the two leading offices and rent is still staying low. These apartments are like a hidden secret now!
Nice views, 2 pools and a place to exercise. Good location close to main highway. It is usually quite and family orientated. Bus route picks up kids in the complex.
