I recently moved into The Octagon, and it truly feels like a dream come true. Just 4 minutes from the Upper East Side, yet it feels miles away from the chaos and downsides of Manhattan — this island is a real hidden paradise. The commute is surprisingly easy and flexible, thanks to the private shuttle, bus, F train, tram, and ferry. From my very first visit, I felt at home. The leasing team is fantastic — helpful, supportive, and patient — and every staff member is professional, warm, and welcoming. The building is always spotless, well maintained, and the common areas and outdoor spaces are beautifully manicured. I love the sense of safety and tranquility here; my kids can roam freely without worry, and even the subway feels clean and comfortable. The views are breathtaking, and living here truly feels like a blessing. The Octagon is everything I always dreamed of but never found in Manhattan — relaxing, safe, and full of warmth.

I have been living at The Octagon since October of 2020 and each day here is a blessing. This cozy complex nestled in the northern section of Roosevelt Island is a true gem. Staff here are excellent and take wonderful care of the residents. The featured amenities are difficult to beat in comparison to other buildings on the island. The backyard is a fantastic place to relax in the warmer months and during the cold winters, the lounges provide ample space to work and convene. Parking and laundry are all provided in building. Ample green space and tennis courts are both within reach of the building. If the Island is your vibe, then Octagon should be your first choice!

Moving here was one of the best decisions I took. I was in a hurry to move and the staff made the process super easy for me! The apartment is beautiful and so is the view. The appliances are high-quality and very nice-looking. The gym is great and I have access to free weekly classes I can book in the app. I can’t wait to go to the pool, which is opening this weekend. I already told all my colleagues how great it is to live here!

The staff is warm and welcoming. The management is friendly and professional. The maintenance team has great integrity and work ethic. Response to any issues is immediate. The grounds, amenities, and lounges are updated and well kept. The views are beautiful and breathtaking. The parking garage is every New Yorkers dream come true. The apartments are large with modern kitchens, bathrooms, and appliances. Never had issues with insects or rodents. My family is so happy here, and that seems to be the overall feeling from the other residents. The Octagon is not simply an apartment complex, it is our home!

The views are amazing, I see the beautiful east side skyline, and see ships passing by. The apartment complex is a work of art, and has many wonderful amenities. During night time you can hear the sound of silence. The prices are very good. Cheaper than old, outdated, apartment units in rest of Manhattan which do not even offer laundry or trash disposal. There is no broker fee, or any other hidden fees, other than renter's insurance which is just $60/year. They do make you pay $60/month amenity fee (which is still cheaper than other apartments that offer amenities), however they provide free WiFi, so you would be saving money on internet service anyway.

I have lived at The Octagon for 8 years and have enjoyed everything about it. The apartments are so well maintained and spacious, the building is safe, packages are secure and the 24 hour concierge is very attentive to my needs. The outdoor space is lovely in the spring and summer and the pool is wonderful to have after a long work day.

Living in a building that boasts luxury should be a delightful experience, but my recent encounter with a persistent window problem has tarnished that image considerably. For nearly half a year, I have been unable to open my window, despite multiple requests for repair.

I’ve been a resident here since 2020, and I appreciated how professional, kind and courteous the concierge team and the maintenance team are. They are always on top of things. Leasing office team is also quite nice, although sometimes can be a little bit strict. But compared to the other leasing office I had experience with before, I still prefer Bozzuto more.

I have lived here since 2020. Hands down, this is an absolutely wonderful place to live. The culture here on the island and The Octagon is like no other in the city. It's a place that earns a special tile in the mosaic of NYC. Life here is peaceful, vibrant and convenient. The Octagon itself is the most unique apartment building on the island. Do your research and you will learn about the building's long and dark history back in the early 20th century. As you enter The Octagon, you feel the warmth of honour given to its past. Today the property is home to families from all over the world. We have a strong community here. Its a place where you came certainly be social or stay to yourself. The amenities offered are also top notch and hard to find in the city. The staff is super attentive and extremely friendly. I am thankful to call Octagon my home.

I have been living here since 2020 and it has been wonderful going back home from work everyday. The building always smells like a luxury hotel. The amenity is wonderful, staffs are very helpful, and there are always events happening every month! This is my sanctuary every time I come back from long-painful day of work in the city.

This is a place which is very close to NYC but the environment is so calm and quiet. It is perfect for a person who wants to be closer to the city but also wants to be away from loud city surroundings. And the apt complex is filled with amenities which makes my resident experience great and unforgettable. To name some, it has private spaces for gatherings and meetings, a courtyard for events or just a nice evening leisure time and most importantly a friendly staff.

The installations are very clean and well maintained. The staff are kind and always efficient. Living in Roosevelt Island is a great experience. It is a calm and quiet neighborhood. The Octagon was once a very community oriented place with monthly dinners that brought residents together. I miss the meals, which included appetizers, drinks and deserts. I also miss the parties we used to have. The events that are planned now require standing in long lines for little to nothing in terms of food or drink. I can’t remember the last party we had. At the same time our rents are being raised unreasonably. I was upset with management, but realize they are just middle runners for the corporate greed they cater to. While there have been improvements in the gym facilities, fitness spaces and outdoor spaces, I preferred the timeless elegance of the previous decir. The interiors of the apartments are very dated. The kitchens and bathrooms need to be renovated. The historic structure is amazing, as is the location on Roosevelt Island.

I have not had any major issues here. Staff are kind and friendly. There were issues with the elevators before, but they appeared to have resolved at this point.

My family and I lived in this amazing apartment complex for 4 years and loved every second of it. This place is perfect if you are looking for a warm, caring and entertaining community. The management team always makes the residents feel valued. The building is always clean and the staff works tirelessly to ensure that it stays that way. The maintenance team is super efficient and resolves whatever problems one is experiencing within a few hours. Different events are organized throughout the year that cater to the interests of all age groups, along with regular complementary yoga and HIIT classes . The amenities include a well equipped gym, yoga studio, gaming room, conference room, spin class room, outdoor swimming pool and a courtyard with electric grills and so much more. Trust me, if you make the decision to come live here, you won't ever regret it.

The view from my window is incredible and staff is always so nice. Love how the concierge and mail room is 24hrs. The amenities are great playroom, game room, hosting area, pool, 24hr gym. It’s fantastic living here! The only thing is that it’s so far away from the nearest station (15 minute red bus ride). Octagon does offer a shuttle service but that starts at 10 am so you can’t really take it to work. And the public transport shuttle (red bus) stops at 2 am and then you have walk half an hour back if your coming home late. The Island itself doesn’t have much to do and it’s a long train commute to anywhere in the city because of the red bus ride. Driving is also a pain because there’s no parking at the octagon you’ll be placed on a waiting list and we’ve been on it for two years now. And there’s no free parking on the island. If you’re older and would like a chill life and have all the time you need. I’d recommend. But if you’re going and have a busy life I’d suggest somewhere else.

My family and I made a great decision to move to New York four months ago and settle in The Octagon on Roosevelt Island. The peaceful environment is exactly what we were looking for, and we have been extremely satisfied with the building management, the exceptional service by the staff, and the range of top-notch facilities available to us.
