The Travis County community of McNeil covers a large expanse of north Austin. Much of the area belongs to the Austin White Lime Company, but the surrounding roads and residential areas in the southern part of McNeil provide a beautiful sprawling landscape for renters of all types.

I’ve had a great experience living here. The apartments are well-maintained, spacious, and comfortable. The management team is responsive and professional, always quick to resolve any issues. The unit is bright and open, the gym is fully stocked and clean, the pool is also GORGEOUS, maintenance is fast and responsive to any issues we have (which are inevitable), I really can’t say enough good things about this complex.

I’ve been living in this apartment for a while, and overall it’s been a positive experience. The location is convenient, close to grocery stores, public transport, and a few nice cafes. The building itself is fairly well maintained — the common areas are clean, and the landscaping is taken care of regularly.

I like it here. Close to an H-E-B and gas station. Nice that it’s so close to the domain. Although if you’re in your early 20s, there’s not a lot of other people that age in this complex.

Community is good and very cost effective compared to the surrounding communities with nice apartment space. I would rate 5 except for the couple maintenance issue I had. Staff also handled a water flooding in my apartment during the 2025 freeze very efficiently in my absence at the apartment.

The apartment is decent. I like the surrounding nature and 2 bedroom floor plan but everything feels very cheaply made in the units. Finishings were peeling off before I even moved in and the longer I live here the more I see how easy wear and tear is. Also the appliances are really old. Dishwasher and laundry machines don't function as nicely as I'd want them to. Also the gym looks really nice when touring but a lot of the machines don't work

I highly recommend monterra I lived here for 3 years and loved it. The apartments are good and well-maintained, amenities] are excellent. Management was always friendly and quick to address any concerns. The location is also a major plus, with easy access to office If you're looking for a great place to live, look no further!

The application process was relatively smooth, I interacted with Shannon and Manali, both of whom were very friendly. One thing that can be improved: I wish the process after signing the lease was more streamlined, with a checklist, and a list of all the emails I should expect to receive, and all the portals I should be aware of, so that you can ask management incase you didn't receive a particular email. There are also some process related quirks, there is no invoice for the first month, only a charge sheet, and therefore does not show up as a balance on the payment portal, you'll have to manually make the payment for the pre-agreed amount on there.

Good in general. One thing could improve is the environment. Still see lots of dog poops on the ground in the apartment complex. Also, the wipes are out frequently in the gym

Nice property, I like the gym, the dog park can be updated and cleaned, the ride-share lounge is convenient. Quiet little neighborhood never had an issue with crime. Walls are thin- so you’ll likely hear your neighbors especially if they have pets. Plenty of parking! Star taken off for the dog park and think walls.

Overall good. One suggestion is that there could be more frequent maintenance of the gym. The sanitizing wipes have been out for more than 2 weeks. Two machines are not functioning.

Nice complex overall. More expensive compared to similar apartments in the same neighborhood. Maintenance is good, but there are occasional noise issues, especially in the pool area. Gym is great, and we feel secure in general. HEB is 5 min away and Domain is 10 minutes to drive.
