I'm not sure Id recommend an apartment where I have to boil water on the stove to take a bath. Or an apartment where the fire alarm goes off 3 times a week to simply alarm a message telling me not to move.

Great apartment and building. However, closing the gym everyday (esp. on weekends) for an hour at 10 AM for "cleaning" is a slap in the face to residents, especially when the gym isn't clean (there is dust everywhere, sweat build up on some cardio machines, and the towelettes are out of stock more than half the time). If you're going to ruin my weekend workout, might as well do a thorough clean at least.

Lived here a year, overall pretty good! Packages & Amazon lockers are convenient, concierge is friendly, gym & layout are decent, lighting could improve.

Location is easily one of the best features, right in the heart of Center City, walkable to tons of restaurants, shops, and public transit. The amenities are also a nice touch: the fitness center is decent (though it can get crowded). The price feels a little steep for what you get. You’re definitely paying a premium for location, not necessarily luxury. Noise can be an issue, especially from the street (I live on the 11th floor).

Great place! Maintenance & front desk are the best!!! Clean and very convenient to local shops, bars & restaurants. Sometimes the noise from market st. on the weekend can be a nuisance but otherwise we enjoy living here!

Fast maintenance service, excellent noise insulation. I had a lot of noise problems in previous apartments in Center City, Philadelphia, but it is a pin-drop silence here. I would re-lease here again if I could.

The apartments itself is nice, and the individual units are well-maintained with good design and features. However, the management is frustratingly incompetent. They advertise a "24/7" gym, yet shut it down every single day from 10 to 11 AM for cleaning — a peak workout time, especially on weekends. Why can't the cleaning be done while the gym is open? Or better yet, scheduled during low-usage hours? It’s a baffling and avoidable inconvenience that shows a lack of basic consideration for the residents.

Thank you for taking the time to share your lovely comments about our community! We do apologize for the inconvenience regarding the gym closures for cleaning. Due to us working with a unionized porter staff, we must restrict our cleaning schedules to the union's contracted working hours and keep said schedule consistent regardless of the days of the week. Since we opened, our staff has reviewed the peak use times of the gym and found that 10am-11am is the most frequent hour of low usage during weekdays, as this is generally when the bulk of our residents have already begun their work day. While we understand this may be a peak usage hour on weekends, we must utilize a consistent cleaning schedule to meet our union contract requirements. Staff is lovely. Events are fun. The reasons for the alarms going off need to be told to the residents a it more often. Other than that, we are informed often of everything happening on site.

Thanks for taking the time to give us this feedback! We appreciate you! We understand your concern with the fire alarms. The most frequent cause is residents cooking and triggering at least 2 of their in-unit smoke detectors or 1 hallway smoke detector, indicating the spreading of the smoke sou rce. Though this can occur without a fully active fire if there is excess smoke in the home and residents have not taken steps to decrease the build-up through use of the Range Hood exhaust fans or opening of their windows. Opening of the apartment door, and allowing smoke to spread to the hallway will also trigger a community-wide alarm. These reasons are why we place emphasis on fire safety and the proper steps to take while cooking in many of our community-wide announcements/newsletters and available cooking classes. The Ludlow is such a great building. I moved here over 4 years ago from NYC and have not regretted it at all. The building is clean, secure and centrally located. Absolutely love the staff and only have had positive experiences. I would not hesitate to recommend!

Lived here for going on 6 years and have really enjoyed my experience thus far. Always appreciate how clean the building and amenities are kept and love the community events. There are some frustrating aspects such as the outdoors grills being broken for months, I think only 1 works. I have expressed this prior. Also I have suggested a water refill station in the gym for years so hoping for that and think it’d be much appreciated from residents.

Currently 2/3 grills are fully functional; the 3rd requires the installation of an additional gas line, as the original propane tank set up is no longer fit for use. The addition of a water refill station is a frequent topic of discussion in the office as well. To install, an additional water line is needed, and several amenities would need to be shut down during the install and wall repairs. Due to this, the project has been put on hold for now. Really nice to live in. Amazing central location close to stores, shops, restaurants, and bar, Dog and pet-friendly! The best part is the amenity space. I just wish they fixed the fireplace though!

We enjoy residing at the Ludlow. Location is great and the concierge is awesome. We’ve had and still have few issues with appliances that has yet to be resolved since moving in 2 weeks ago. Their communication could be greater with updates , etc. whether it’s by email or phone. As we are still waiting for any kind of date, solution , replacement, etc.

Outstanding place to live. The staff are so helpful, building is immaculately clean. They truly value their residents. I always feel safe with the 24 hour staff present. They have a lot of great activities. I have been renting for 24 years and this is the best place I’ve ever lived.
