Living in Old Southwest Reno takes residents back to the early days of the Nevada city, back when pioneers roamed the streets and built homes any way they desired. Locals love the Old Southwest area for its status as one of the oldest neighborhoods in Reno. Close to downtown Reno and to restaurants, bars and schools, many Reno residents consider the area one of the most desirable parts of town.
Unlike the newer developments, Old Southwest homes resemble homes from the past, in many different styles. People can walk down the block and see both a mansion and a cottage on the same street. The uniqueness and old-fashioned nature of Old Southwest and its outer streets pique the interest of those who travel to Reno looking for a family neighborhood close to all of Reno’s attractions.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Lodge at McCarran Ranch Apartment Homes
this location is great in offering easy access to restaurants, retail establishments, and public transit. the pool and fitness center in specific are excellent attributes to the community. Sheila is very accommodating, and maintenance is quick to respond to work orders, taking care of issues before they arise. all in all a lovely place to live. office staff is very welcoming, would definitely recommend.

Thank you for the kind review! We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service, and we're so happy to hear we met your expectations.
Been here for some time. Watched as the neighbors and staff have changed. The manager is extremely rude. Yells and screams at you and blames you, the tenant for every fault even when she is breaking the law. Corporate does not respond to voicemails or emails . The maintenance men all complain about how many work orders the small complex has because everything is so worn down and old. Sometimes it takes months to get a repair done. If you say they have no permission to enter they come inside your house anyways! The property has animals of all kinds but over the last 3-4 months people have stopped picking up their dog poop so there is poop everywhere! Side walks, grass, rock areas. You tell the office and they don't do anything. If there is a problem you're supposed to be able to communicate this to the manager who's job is to insure the complex is kept clean and up to date for future tenants as well as current residents. This is not the case. All she will tell you is if you have a problem you can move instead of actually trying to fix the problem which is part of her job. Unfortunately Alot if people are in the same boat and stuck here because rates have increased everywhere and moving isn't an option. If someone insists on making their job in real estate/property management they should probably learn how to treat the people they service.

Expect a massive rent increase every year that you are there if not the rent then expect your sewer, trash, and water to make up for the price increase. Sidewalks will never get salted during the winter, so be prepared for a skating rink. Everything is outdated - from the appliances to the amenities, for the price you pay, you can go 10 minutes south of Reno and be in luxury. FYI homeless people will always walk around on the property and leave trash everywhere. Also, the property went to non-smoking however the maintenance team will sit on their golf carts and smoke every stop they make. Lastly, hope you enjoy people that do not live on the property or near it to be camped in their motor homes all around the premises!

When we first moved in everything seemed very nice. Except the fact that our move in date got pushed out twice by them. There were the normal first couple of days of checking out to see if anything needed to be fixed and of course there was. It took them 4 months before they even came to start fixing things and there was a lot. One of the biggest complaints was the fact that the seam of the sliding glass door leaked all across the top which meant it would soak the carpet when it would rain. The walls had marks that weren't painted. The screen in the kids room had big holes in it that never got fixed the whole year we lived there. The dryer would have to be ran 4 to 5 times just to dry things it didn't matter if there was a lot or a few things in it and this is just a few things. The only positive thing I have to say is the office staff was great at communication but that doesn't help if what is being said never has follow through. When we moved out the things that never got fixed we got charged for including water damage to the carpet by the sliding glass door, what a shocker. So basically their lack of interest in fixing things cost us a lot of money that was their responsibility.
I've lived here almost 4 years now. It has been a great experience in all facets except one area! Unfortunately my rent has been raised considerably every year I've been here (over $200). That coupled with the water, trash and sewage (which has also tripled in $$) which the residents are responsible to pay, I can no longer afford it so I will have to move. Be aware,,, rent will go up every year you are here. I've never lived somewhere, that this has been like this. To say the least, I'm very disappointed because I did love it here.
I've lived in this apartment for almost 5 years, and I just love every minute of it. It a very nice apartment, safe environment. The staff are very helpful, and accommodating every time you call them for whatever reason.
The staff (Kelly and Amanda) are very friendly and helpful. The fitness center is simple but sufficient. It's always clean, accessible, and has ceiling fans & music. The grounds are nicely landscaped and well kept. Mailroom is easily accessible. Convenient location near shopping, restaurants, mall, and all services.
THE APT CUTE WITH FIREPPLACE AND PRETTY BLACK TILE MAKES IT ELEGANT THE KITCHEN TILE IS SOMETHING YOU WOULD PROBABLY SEE IN A UP TO DO PLACE THEY HAVE MADE GOOD CHOICES AND FROM SINKS, DISPOSALS,SCREENS .AIR CONDITIONERS THEY DO WHAT THEY CAN TO MAKE YOU FEEL TAKEN CARE OF AND COMFORTABLE THE MANAGERS ALSO HELP WITH REPAIRS,
