San Antonio blends a rich heritage with modern innovation, resulting in a metropolis teeming with true Texan heart. San Antonio’s distinctive environment reflects centuries of style and a diverse array of culture, which is best exemplified in the La Villita Historic Arts Village. The Alamo may be the most renowned structure in the city, but there are plenty of magnificent historical buildings to see—from the Emily Morgan Hotel to the Meyer Halff House.
Stretched along the San Antonio River is the famous River Walk, where residents and visitors alike can walk or bike from the San Antonio Zoo to the Witte Museum, the historic Majestic Theatre, the Shops at Rivercenter, the Missions of San Antonio and back again.
The city and the surrounding region offer endless opportunities for exploration.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Landmark at Alamo Heights
A very clean environment, great staff and a sweet pool!
Residents are friendly, quiet community. The manager is courteous, professional, makes you feel at home the first time you enter the office. Maintenance is on top of it at all times.
Horrible place to rent. Vents not working! Apartment was not ready and infested with roaches. Manager and maintenance men have no business running the place. No stars!!!!
I just moved in to Ashford Tanglewood and have had the best experience. My apartment is beautiful and the complex is close to everything but still quiet and tucked away. Crystal helped me get moved in seamlessly as I was relocating with the military and had to do the lease long distance. I am so happy I chose this place and highly recommend it!
My husband and I moved into Ashford Tanglewood a few months ago and love it. The location is great, the property is very quiet and peaceful and the staff is great! All requests are handled quickly and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend!
Living here has been a nightmare. If you happen to drive around the complex, you'll notice black boxes all over the place. Those, what I've come to find out, are for the extreme rat problem Tanglewood has. I'm surprised this place hasn't been condemned...the apartments have a strong mildew and mold stench. Tenants are also allowed to smoke in their apartments, which invariably spread to the other apartments. Roaches are also another problem, no matter how clean you keep your apartment. I can't even keep track of how much money I've spent on pesticides. The management is horrible. They put on a great front, but once your lease is signed, you're just steady money and they couldn't care less how horrible your living conditions are. Your a.c. can stop working, you can have a leak, you can report thefts/burglaries, you can have roach or rat infestations, and you'll be made to feel like you're a burden and a nuisance. Retaliation? Oh, you betcha. If you complain about reasonable things, your rent will skyrocket should you decide to stay. Thinking of moving out? Retaliation again. You'll end up with a $3000 bill that you more than likely can't afford and it will be sent to a debt collector and it will be a negative mark on your credit. Crime has gotten horrible here too. Thefts, burglaries, stabbings...but do they hire a security? No. Because they couldn't care less. I only stay here because I unfortunately can't afford to move. It should also be mentioned that since I first moved here, I've been diagnosed with COPD and my hair has thinned drastically. I don't know what's going on here, but it isn't right. Management knows this place has serious issues that pose a risk to our health, but they just don't care. Please don't out yourselves, your pets, or your families in danger by living here.
I have lived at Ashford Tanglewood for almost a year and absolutely love it! The location is great and I love that I am so close to shopping, dining and culture. The staff is wonderful and always helpful and attentive. Maintenance is always VERY fast to respond and eager to help. I will definitely be renewing my lease and plan to live here for a long time.

Thank you for the wonderful review. We are so happy you have chosen Ashford Tanglewood as your home!
Not only is this a prime location, but these huge apartments have all the charm of an older building with the modern grace of an updated one. The colors are gorgeous and the closets...wow! The most important thing in any apartment living situation is management and I've been so impressed. I had a serious issue (no fault of the Apartment)with one area and management has done everything in their power to make me feel safe, healthy and happy. They are kind and very professional but experienced enough to deal with any issue that may come up. Maintenance has been so impressive, as well! I trust these gentlemen implicitly and consider one a friend. There are teenagers here from Alamo Heights who are loud and obnoxious so I'm not sure where the 'quiet' is, but management does act when asked to. Overall I hope to live here for a very long time like many of my neighbors! CC-W
