Looks can be deceiving It took toilet water pouring out of my ceiling three times before it was addressed. When it was addressed a huge hole was left in my ceiling for a week which let in a ton of flies and I’m still dealing with all the flies. Paint and spackle was dripped all over my bathtub and some on my floors. All the drawers in the apartment don’t work properly. There is no parking past 7pm. I would not recommend anyone renting from here.

Very few working amenities No microwave, appliances are mediocre, constantly need to call maintenance. We pay for trash pickup, but they rarely actually pick up or the trash compactor doesn’t work. Then we get pictures of our trash sitting outside saying we have a trash violation. Very unhappy.

I started living here with my boyfriend before the management changed, as soon as this place became the Knoll everything declined. EVERYTHING became an issue, and we ended up out of a lot of money. I learned quickly that you will need to get every conversation in writing from the Knoll. First off, we had a broken dryer for MONTHS and had to take our clothes to the laundromat. Finally after months, we were given the option of taking our clothes to a vacant unit to do laundry. Lugging everything back and forth was still quite inconvenient so we would take a weeks' worth of laundry at a time. We had a weeks worth of clothes & bedding, our tide pods, hamper, laundry basket, literally everything in the vacant unit to accommodate our situation. We started a load of laundry one evening and went to dinner. When we returned to switch the load ALL of our things were gone. Maintenance had thrown everything away. All of our belongings. It was never communicated from the office to the maintenance staff that we were using the unit. The situation escalated up to the Area Manager, she offered us $200 for compensation. TWO HUNDRED. For, again, a weeks' worth of laundry, pods, our laundry basket and hamper, etc. $200 would buy me 2 pairs of jeans back. This issue was never even addressed by the manager until we threatened taking legal action. Another issue we had was that one of the men that was working in the leasing office explained to my boyfriend and I that our rent would be a certain amount for month to month after our lease ended (as we were looking for a new place). When our lease ended we got charged hundreds of dollars more than what the man in the front office told us we would be charged. They said they couldnt do anything about it since there is no proof. Understandably, yes, but he should not have explained the new rent price to us if he was not sure. Lastly, i have NEVER experienced so many people coming into my apartment unwarranted. I felt unsafe by myself as contracted workers would not even knock but just try to open the door. I would be lucky to have gotten an email that someone would be coming in... day of. (We also had a cat which made it difficult when workers needed to enter our apartment multiple times a week when we were not home.) Please do not give these people your money.

Ever since the property changed management companies there have been constant problems. It seems they don’t know what they’re doing. Maintenance is completely incompetent and rude, the property trash is constantly overflowing which causes bugs and a foul odor, and if you place a request for any maintenance (even if they’re urgent) they take weeks to resolve the issues. Save yourself some time rent elsewhere.

Maintenance is horrible, the refrigerator keeps freezing things and maintenance just messes with the same buttons I can myself. They bait and switched us in regards to wifi/ISP options which is crucial for WFH. It took them 3 weeks to get our mail keys to us even thought the rental agreement says we would get them upon move in. Bottom line DO NOT rent here …

Moved in a little over a month ago and my patio door was broken prior to moving in and still is. I have contacted leasing repeatedly about this and they do not keep their word about following up with you nor do they care that I can't use all of the amenities of my apartment that I pay for. You have to repeatedly follow up with them. Management here is bad and it's been a disappointing month here.

Bell Fair Oaks is a wonderful community. Though the building is a bit older they are constantly working on updating and improving the property. The staff is wonderful always polite and helpful. There is 3 in the office who are always willing to help solve a problem and lend a helping hand. Maintenance had 1 person for almost a year and has done a great job maintaining the community. The community is also in walking distance to all shopping and entertainment.

We have had a good experience living at Bell Fair Oaks. After 30 years of living in single-family homes, with space between neighbors, we were hesitant about this transition period of apartment living before retirement. But we have been pleasantly surprised. This is a quiet community, which has surprised us because of how many units that are here. The office staff is simply wonderful and issues in the community are addressed quickly. We havent had much interaction with maintenance, but the small things weve needed done were done quickly, expertly, and pleasantly. The grounds are kept up nicely, and different overall big maintenance projects seem to be on the calendar to keep both appearance and functioning at the highest level. We are within walking distance to stores and very short driving distance to even more.

I have lived here for a couple of years and never had any problems with the management regarding maintenance requests. The community is well maintained and it is very quiet and safe. The complex is in the heart of the Fair Oaks area and close to every type of shopping and the Fairfax County Government Center headquarters.

I think Belfair Oaks is a good place to live. However, the management staff needs to be better with responding back to current residence, this does not include the maintenance staff. The property is aging and needs to be pressure washed overall. The parking for visitors is a nightmare and the system sucks overall, more visitor parking/easier access to visitor parking is necessary.

Nice neighborhood feel is impressive for a little complex like this (good landscaping, nice people). Friendly and very responsive staff. apartment was well prepared and clean, with almost everything in working order (a few issues, but maintenance got here within 24hrs for everything, less for my heating issue). Parking is confusing, but there is no lack of it. And there is excellent light (3rd floor loft). Park like 5min. walk down the street that we brought our dog to. Kitchen is lightly tighter than I expected (though my girlfriend called it), so we need a spice rack, or shelving or something.

The management team working here are great and helpful you feel as if they are family. The location is excellent, everything is accessible and you can find restaurants, shopping malls and supermarkets beside you. George Masons university bus stops within walking distance from the Bell Fair Oaks.

I have loved my time here at Bell Fair Oaks! Ive lived here almost 2 years. All staff whether office personal or maintenance are top notch! All are friendly and will do what they can to accommodate any needs in a timely manner. My pup and I visit the leasing office quite often to say hello and grab a cup of coffee. You wont regret choosing Bell Fair Oaks as your new place to call home! :-)

I am very satisfied with my overall experience. I had a one year lease and then renewed it again so I am on my second term. If my roommate situation wasn't changing, I'd probably renew a 3rd time. I have recommended this place to people since I've been living here and would continue to do so. Because of my recommendation, one of my co workers moved into the complex too. Good price for the value and management is very kind and attentive.

Bell fair oaks has very good customer service They could improve on the landscape services especially removal of the leaves.
BFO has been such a great experience. This was our first apartment and we love it. Of course since it has been our first apartment we didn't know all the lingo when applying for the apartment and Connie and the rest of the staff were so helpful and knowledgeable about it all.
For the location this place is, the management is horrible. This location is central location to everything in fair lakes, but the management at this location makes you want to leave sooner than you came in. You need more trash pick up sites at different locations of the complex not just simply at one. Its inconvenient and frustrating when youre constantly told that trash is an issue at the complex. I feel frustrated when I see parking being an issue because some residents park on top of the lines, slanted in between spaces, and residents taking over visitor spaces. I have a brand new car thats been dented, scratched and towed from the complex because there isnt a clear communication enforcement on the grounds.
