Property Ratings at The Heritage
I recently moved into this property a week ago and there's been issues with the hot water.
I have lived at this property a little over 4 years and never had any major issues until about Jan/Feb 2016. It was recently taken over by SPM as of Nov/Dec 2016 and they are doing a major facelift with the inside and outside of the property. There is a lot that needs to be done to bring the property up to date and i send kudos to them! However, the previous management (Halstead Realty) were thee worse. I can attest to and confirm what the previous review said about the bed bugs. I have been dealing with this issue for almost a year and Halstead Realty was negligent with sending a licensed professional to take care of this issue as needed. I even went as far as to get the City of East Orange and Department of Health involved. After a complaint was filed in July 2016, I finally got some results after having to reach out to the Mayor with a credit of less than $100 on my rent 3 months after being displaced out of my apartment and paying for professional exterminator services out of pocket. Needless to say, SPM has taken matters into their own hands and sent out the exterminator on 3 occasions but the entire building needs to be treated. I'm am positive they will do the right thing and have this matter rectified. If you are thinking of renting units here, please be forewarned. These bugs have ruined my life, my living space, the feeling of being comfortable in my own living space and my sleep.
Currently I'm undergoing a complete nightmare with my apartment. I found my apartment thru an ad posted by Iridium Realty who are owned and run by a different Management company named Harrison Halstead Realty, LLC. However, no sooner do I move in my baby girl and I are bitten head to toe by bed bugs. I made several complaints until finally the City got involved. I'm in the process of turning in my apt and nullifying my lease bc they have neglected to remedy the situation. I've had to throw loads of belongings due to their negligence. Beware of these companies as they have multiple ads all over. - Marcy
