What began as a resort getaway for the Low Country elite in the 19th century has blossomed into a thriving community on the outer edge of the Charleston area. Countless buildings in town have been added to the National Register of Historic Places, so the local architecture definitely contributes to the charming atmosphere.
The town has experienced massive growth since the 1980s, meaning many of the apartments and homes are fairly new, and the cost of living is very affordable compared to many places closer to the city. Only about 30 minutes to downtown Charleston via I-26, it’s a great place for commuters to call home. Parents will appreciate the terrific local schools and family-friendly events like the annual Flowertown Festival.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The Grove has nice floor plans, the landscape is aesthetically pleasing, the staff is decent, maintenance requests are handled in a timely manner and overall I like it here. I like the grey and white color scheme and massive porches. I would really enjoy my porch if I didn’t have to be harassed by insects, it’s screened in but yet centipedes, frogs, and palmetto bugs finds there way on my porch. But there is too many snakes and raccoons for me to be comfortable here. If there was more control or preventative measures for this concern I wouldn’t look any further when it comes to apartment living. Also I wish the appliances where updated, a built in microwave and some stainless steel should be standard for the price you pay to live here. I would still recommend this complex to friends but I would be forced to keep it real and let them have my transparent opinion. My hopes for The Grove is to find this review constructive and to improve the conditions in this complex, this place could be seriously top notch.

It is always nice to hear such positive feedback about our floorplans, landscaping, and attentive team. However, we do regret if pests and vermin have become a concern for you and have impacted your ability to enjoy your porch. We have noted your comments and will share them with our team, and if you would like to further discuss your appliances with us, please come by the office or email us at GroveatOakbrook-PM@pegasusresidential.com. Thank you.
You’ll hit a pot hole at least once coming home but the apartment is big and the rooms are far apart which I love. Down side noise complaints fall on empty ears….. amazing starter apartment bc you’ll fall in love with the location

The staff don’t do anything around here and if you do a maintenance order they don’t come till like 2 months later and this place and just a bad environment.
Office staff are awful especially that sjan girl. She is not helpful at all. She doesn't know what she is doing. I would never live here. That girl is rude. Also was in office when some lady came in like she was on fire fusing about thinks with the property manager. I felt it was not appopiate. Not a nice place.
I have been living at this complex for about a year now and am now up for rent renewel. Sure, for a brief moment I thought of seeing what else was out there, but that thought didn't last long. The staff here is amazing and very professional. They handle all questions/concerns promptly and with a smile. They and the residents are very welcoming, even to our pets. The apartment layouts are very spacious and modern. The landscape is always wonderfully manicured. The monthly apartment get-togethers are very thoughtful and fun! So, again, to think of where else I could live, I couldn't think of a better place because I know I wouldn't find this overall quality anywhere else. There's no other place I could think of as home. I am positive you would think the same when you live here.
