THE GRIFFIN CENTER CITY

I give a 4 star review due to the change in the closing of many stores that were here for the first first couple of years I moved here. Chestnut street has changed . I have been in the griffin for 10 years . Seen lots of changes with management and front desk personal . The staff we have now are terrific . Zach really takes great pride in his job and runs a great team. Maintenance is hands down extremely efficient! The front desk people are just ok. Some of the staff can do a lot better. Amenities are excellent .

Love living here! The location and community are great.

Living in this apartment building has been a great experience. The true heartbeat of the building is the manager, Michelle—she goes above and beyond every single day to make residents feel at home. From organizing fun community events to always being available and approachable, Michelle’s dedication to this building makes for a warm, welcoming atmosphere that’s hard to find at a center city apartment building. This apartment would not be the same without Michelle, no doubt about it. The maintenance staff here is also top-notch. They are not only skilled and efficient at what they do, but they’re also very responsive—every maintenance request I’ve submitted has been handled within the day. The building itself is always clean and well kept, and it’s clear that management is committed to constant improvement & upgrades. This is exactly how a Philadelphia apartment should be run—and thanks to the staff, it truly feels like home. I can honestly say it’s the best place I’ve ever lived!

Just moved in and so far I am loving it! The building is clean. The amenities seem nice so far. The unit I live in is very spacious. The leasing office is also readily available for any questions I have had.

Great apartment! Moved into a new unit with much more natural light and space, moving was very easy and management helped greatly! Lease transfer was extremely easy as well. Management has been very helpful throughout.

Carpets are sticky here and there. The floor makes quirky noise. The nails are peaking out on the floor. The concierge service is really good.

I just moved into Griffin Center City this week and so far it’s been a fantastic experience. The leasing team was super helpful during my move-in process, and everything in the apartment was clean and ready to go. The amenities are modern and well-kept, and the location is unbeatable. I’m excited to be part of this community and looking forward to settling in!

Love to live in this exceptional place. Content with almost everything, and even if there are some issues, these are addressed quickly enough for me to experience the least inconvenience.

Great amenities, great proximity to center city, happy with the rooftop. I have noticed a decrease in front desk staff attentiveness and proactivity since Sean, Jarred, and Jennifer are gone.

The apartments are clean and nicely refurbished, which is great. But if you’re on the fourth floor, be prepared to hear the gym next door every now and then. Sometimes, when people are ego-lifting and dropping weights, it sounds like a construction site

The Griffin is truly an exceptional apartment community—everything a renter could dream of and more. Its prime location puts you right in the heart of it all, but what truly sets it apart is the incredible staff. From my very first inquiry to move-in day, they were nothing short of amazing—friendly, helpful, and genuinely invested in making the process seamless. Beyond that, the thoughtful improvements happening within the community reflect just how much the management team cares about both the residents and the building itself. The brand-new rooftop furniture is a fantastic addition, making the space even more enjoyable, and the fresh coat of paint has the building looking better than ever. It’s exciting to see these upgrades, and I’m looking forward to what other projects might be in store this year! The quality of construction is top-notch, and The Griffin is truly in a league of its own. I have no plans to leave anytime soon—this place really feels like home!

So far, so good. I recently moved in, and all of the staff have been amazing. Maintenance is fast, and they are all nice. The building has a good build, there are no neighbor sounds which is amazing and the building is located in a central spot that makes doing things super easy. The one downfall with everything right now is not having a dedicated move-in space like a loading dock. Parking across the street to move in and leaving someone by the car at all times to ensure nothing got taken was exhausting.

Living here has been a wonderful experience and I've never had any problems regarding the appliances or plumbing, even there is, you request online and the staff will come help.

This place is amazing. I had to commit to a place without seeing it, which is always nerve-wracking but it could not have turned out better. Griffin is incredibly clean, quiet, safe, and convenient. The concierges always brighten my day and I couldn't even think of a complaint if I tried.

All of the staff do an incredible job of creating a welcoming and supportive community in addition to always being a tremendous help to the residents.

I have recently moved in and have loved it so far. The building employees are super nice. The only thing we found a little challenging was the approval process for the apartment. But the staff was super helpful with getting everything sorted out.

I enjoy living at the Griffin Apartments. The amenities are great including having a front desk representative and package pickup. <y favorite spots are the gym and rooftop. The occasional apartment get together parties are fun!

The location of the building is central to everything once might need from restaurants to grocery stores and historical landmarks. Griffin Center City’s staff has been accommodating and helpful throughout the entire move-in process. Thus far, my experience greatly exceeds that of prior apartments. Looking forward to the next 11 months.

I lived at the Griffin Center City apartments for 3 years while my fiance was in medical residency. During our time here, there were so many false fire alarms that not only myself but my dog developed anxiety related to any kind of alarm resembling the fire alarm. The elevators are constantly breaking down. On our move in day, we were about five minutes after our elevator reservation time because we got stuck in traffic on our five hour drive. The front desk would not allow us to move in any of our belongings and suggested we get a hotel for the night. We had to park our UHaul in an open lot for about $50 overnight and my dad slept on the floor. Toward the end of our lease, we had two and a half months where we needed to stay in our unit after our lease ended. They used to offer a 3 month leasing option, but of course when we needed it they inexplicably took that option away. But don't worry! They do allow you to extend your lease month to month, which only cost us $1400 more than our already overpriced rent. That is after we were so graciously given a $300 discount. Once we moved out, we received a bill for around $800. This is apparently because the carpet in the bedroom had "pet waste odor" and needed to be entirely replaced. Interestingly, our dog never had any accidents in the bedroom or on that carpeting, so I'm not sure how they came up with that. Of course, there is no way to prove or disprove the presence of pet odor when you are 5 hours away, so I guess that's another almost $1k in their greedy little pockets! The apartments are clean. The maintenance staff and front desk staff are very nice and do a great job. The location is close to a lot of cool stuff, but outside can get quite dirty (as is typical for a city). But BEWARE. If you want to live here, make sure you have money to burn! (P.S., I have noticed that most of the positive reviews are from people who have only lived here a month or two, or haven't tried to move out. Of course not everyone is going to have a bad experience. I just mean that when I needed compassion and cooperation and transparency from this management staff, they did not provide it. They actively worked against me to make things harder for us. That's how business works I guess, but that's not 'care for residents'. We always paid our rent on time and never caused any problems for this building, and I feel we were treated poorly in return.)

I love living at the Griffin. Everyone who works here is so friendly and helpful. The building is nice and well-maintained. I am so glad I found this place.

I have lived in Philadelphia for 10 years as renter through several property managers. My experience with the Griffin doesn’t even compare to the others. I look forward to being a Griffin resident for years to come!

Sean at the front desk is absolute the most professional, caring and dedicated door man. Followed by Rick! The staff here feels like family. And the building is extremely well maintained in all areas! Last but not least, our amenities are tops! You will not find a better management team here at the Griffin !!

Outstanding staff, in regards to both maintenance and concierge services.

The website is limiting my response over and over again so i will keep it short I am leaving the Griffin after over 2 years for several reasons. First, I must say that the rooftop is really cool and the management team always does what they can for you. They host great parties for residents throughout the year. Also, the maintenance staff is prompt to fix whatever you ask them to. But why I am leaving... 1) getting too expensive 2) fire alarm goes off 1-2x per month 3) the nearest CVS, WaWa, and amazing Walgreens across the street have all closed down. (should be a hint about the QOL in the area) If you are going to pay this much to rent in Philly, spend the money on nicer facilities and a safer area. It shouldn't be too hard to find. Hope this helps people searching.

Griffin Center City is an extremely friendly and welcoming environment to live in! The team is always very quick to respond and keep residents up to date on everything happening in the building. Highly recommend!
