Appropriately named, the Financial District of San Francisco is the central working district in the city. Law firms, corporate offices, banks, and Fortune 500 companies are a few of the financial institutions that occupy the area. This industry-based neighborhood offers abundant restaurants and shopping opportunities as well. The Financial District sits next door to Chinatown and Union Square, a vibrant neighborhood offering upscale shops, restaurants, hotels, and nightlife. Residents of this district enjoy the upscale, high-rise apartments towering over the city and the modern apartment buildings in a central location.
The Financial District occupies much of north Market and Mission Streets in the northeast portion of San Francisco. Conveniently located near bus lines, train lines, ferries, and freeways, this neighborhood’s central location serves thousands of daily commuters.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Gateway
I am deeply dissatisfied with the service provided by Gateway Apartments. After initially booking an apartment and paying a $500 deposit, I later decided to cancel within the acceptable timeframe outlined in their refund policy. Despite this, it has now been two months, and Gateway Apartments has failed to return my deposit. Throughout this ordeal, their communication has been consistently dishonest. Despite repeated assurances via email and screenshots supposedly showing the refund process, the reality is they have not returned my money. It feels like a blatant case of theft—Gateway Apartments has essentially withheld $500 from me under false pretenses. This level of deceit towards customers, whether they are confirmed renters or potential clients, is completely unacceptable. I strongly advise anyone considering renting from Gateway Apartments to reconsider. Their conduct is unethical and demonstrates a lack of respect for customers' financial trust. In conclusion, I urge prospective tenants to think twice before engaging with Gateway Apartments. Their treatment of my deposit has been unacceptable, and I will pursue its return through all available avenues. This experience has left me deeply disappointed and wary of their business practices.

Hello, we regret to hear that your experience with us was not a more positive one. It is discouraging to learn of your experience with us. Your feedback helps us improve and we would like to learn more about how we can make this better.
Great views is all you get. If you like to live in an apartment that will constantly shut off water and call it an emergency, this is the one for you. (How about 3 times in one week? Followed by - oops we need to shut it down again cause we screwed up!) If you love living in a place where they constantly have to check fire alarms every few weeks and have it fail when there is an actual fire, the gateway is your answer. Want to be troubled by fake noise harassment claims in the middle of the night? come here! Want to live in the 22nd floor and get fit? You’ve come to the right place, the gateway will disable elevators for you and make you climb the stairs every other week.

My stuff got stolen from the laundry room and building management did nothing. They kept ping ponging me one to another for a couple of days with zero outcome. Area is not super safe either - there are some homeless / drug addicts hanging around, especially around Safeway. Each time I had issues with apartment staff did nothing and didn't show any intention to help either

I feel like I struck gold when I moved into The Gateway seventeen years ago. It has everything I could wish for: a well-maintained building, a spacious apartment with a fabulous view, a downtown location with a park outside the front door and spectacular bay views from my living room and bedroom windows. It also has a balcony which was indispensable during 2020 when Covid kept us indoors more than usual. My balcony became an essential part of my day-to-day outdoor pleasures. People come from all over the world to live here so it is an exiting environment. It is also a very friendly one. I have made many friends here who share my interests and participate in similar activities like walking, working out, dining out, and enjoying the many cultural activities near-bye. The Complex’s management and maintenance team has also played an important role in my appreciation of The Gateway. They respond promptly to my requests for service or maintenance and are very knowledgable and respectful. I am very grateful to them because I know that they are exceptional, as are both our doormen who are very friendly and maintain a high level of security. If you are reading this with the goal of moving to an apartment, The Gateway would be a great choice. Helen J.

Thank you for making Gateway your home for 30 years and more to come.
I have lived here since 1995 and love it ! The office staff, security guards, doormen (lady) and maintenance are the best.
Other than the price of renting in San Francisco and the two and half months deposit, the complex is not bad. No noisey neighbors, great views, excellent location minus the noisy parrots at 6am or homeless in the parks. It is well maintained minus the trash shoot getting clogged. My only complaint is they keep the heat on even in the summer when it's above 85/90 degrees. I know state law mandates heat but perhaps we should inact cooling mandates or limit heating like they do in Canada (air mandatory at temperatures above 78degrees outside) I'm guessing the amount of retirees need to stay warm instead of moving to Florida. Perhaps get a blanket if you are cold at night at 75 degrees?
This apartment is located in the heart of San Francisco. The view, location and the amenities provide great value for money. It is a walk away from many prime locations in downtown San Francisco. The front desk team is really courteous and very prompt in handling any service requests one may have.
A number of factors need to be considered when choosing a house in San Francisco. These include location, security, amenities, view and cost, to name a few. This apartment is in a prime location (just close to the Ferry building)- really close to lots of recreational areas in the city and a 10 minute walk to many businesses in downtown San Francisco. It is quite secure and has 24 hour surveillance. It has great amenities, including a Safeway store, a fitness center, swimming pools and a tennis club very close to the building. It has a breathtaking view of the ocean and the city. On face value the rent appears high but it proves to be a good deal when you consider that you could save on transportation as well as an average of 3 hours for daily commutes. These and other costs could translate to a saving of up to $1,200 per person per month. Overall, it is really an ideal place to live in.
