Developed with the help of some of Atlanta’s wealthiest families, Druid Hills has become one of the most famous neighborhoods in Atlanta thanks to its impressive homes. The neighborhood was home to nearly all members of the Candler family (of Coca-Cola fame) at one time, making it a popular locale for Atlanta’s elite.
Druid Hills isn’t all imposing luxuriousness. The area is centered on Emory University, whose large student population brings an energetic feel to the stately neighborhood. There are plenty of apartment communities housing students and professionals alike, all just a short distance from the charming restaurants, shops, and venues on campus.
Other popular areas like Virginia-Highlands and Little Five Points are just a short drive away. If you don’t have a car, however, there’s MARTA service to and from the Emory area.

From the very beginning of my moving here I have enjoyed this property. I've seen several different management groups. Name of property change. Gated not gated. New maintenance crew. Different rental office.. None of these things were bad,, because it didn't affect the atmosphere, which i love.. Another thing i love about this property is the friendliness of the residents and it has always been peaceful regardless of the obvious changes.

Hands down one of the most smooth and friendly working processes I’ve experienced. Currently, as a contractor at Hana Contractors, Avana Druid Hills is the best place work with. Specially the property manager, Summer is always cheerful and amazing. Leasing consultant, Tina and maintenance team are also very awesome! Given what rental payments are, the quality of outside maintenance is not worth the price. Stairwells/ Upstairs and down. are dirty, never cleaned, full of cob webs and hornets nests. This has never been the case.

This is the worst leasing renewal experience. The leasing office constantly has different temps who do not know what is going on or a phone bank will take a message but getting an actual leasing agent on the phone is nearly impossible. I have gone into the office several times to get things sorted out and they say that everything is fine and then days later they call to say they are missing information I have given them several times. My own situation was that we were taking a roommate off the leasing and adding another one. It took over a month for the leasing office to give us a straight answer of how this process would work and then the day we were supposed to switch to the new lease they had not removed the old roommate from the lease. I called and had them FINALLY take the old roommate off but then they changed the leasing offer. They delayed so long in getting the roommate situation sorted out that our renewal offer expired. I was told that the initial offer would still stand but then they switched the offer. No hate on the temps. They are not given the ability to actually solve any problems but the fact that there is one (?) leasing agent who is never in the office and obviously has too many balls in the air to be able to effectively handle anything is ridiculous. The actual community is lovely and maintenance is reliable and responsive. However, this experience is so terrible that I do not recommend Avana.

Even though this apartment is smaller in the dining room and sun porch, I like the convenience of living here. I do not understand why there are 2 Handicapped parking spaces for only 8 apartments in this building.

I have lived here almost 3 years. I am not even considering moving. One thing I dont understand is my neighbor has a two bedroom apartment and sunroom. Square footage is exactly the same. However I have a three bedroom apartment and pay more. I dont understand why I have to pay more money. I know it is a third bedroom versus a sunroom. Can you help me understand that? I love the location of apartment complex. The from office staff are very personal, nice and efficient staff. Even though it is an older apartment, things are kept up very well. The landscaping is also well taken care of. The trees and woods are incredible. We enjoy the pool in the summer. Have use the workout room. I dont have any complaints As always, when my contract renews, I would appreciate that the rent rate not jumping to much. everybody else less expensive Happy new year

Avana has changed a community that was nice and the appearance was too to look like low grade apartments, but a huge price tag for out of date. It started going down after Greystar took them over

I've lived at Avana Druid Hills for nearly 2 years now and I've felt both safe & at home while living here. The apartments are nice and really spacious. Community resources are conveniently located throughout the complex, so it's not too far from anyone - no matter which section they live in. The residents are also super friendly, and the staff is always accommodating and on top of communication! I also love how convenient the Online Resident Portal is to pay rent, put in maintenance requests, and view community-related notes from the staff.

i have lived here for 15 years and i love it. Even though management has changed several times, even the Name. I moved in when it was Woodland Hills Apartments, but the atmosphere remains the same.This is still a great place to live after all this time!!

I move back to this place whenever I live in Atlanta. I have renewed my lease multiple times. If I was not satisfied with the place, the layout, the location, maintenance, responsiveness of the office, and the resident online portal I would have left a long time ago. I've lived out of state many times. Every time that I'm back to Atlanta, I always consider this place in Decatur as a first choice. My experience has been great overall. The value for money is good (was great), but that's because the overall area/ location demand increases every year. Walk-able to Parks and two shopping centers which each have Publix. Of course it helps that my experiences with management/ leasing office been good! Maintenance is fantastic and fast. Give it try! It's likely you will love it too.

I have been a resident now for 15 years at Avana Druid Hills, my how time flies!!!. I have no complaints. I didnt come to live here this long, but it is so pleasant and quiet and comfortable, until i really didnt realize how long ive been here. I have been a resident here for a year and a half and I love it here. The property management team has been great, the maintenance team is awesome and I have great neighbors. The property is well maintained. Happy to call it home.
