The Citizen Apartments

It's been about one week since I've moved in and love it so far. I like that my unit sits on the corner of the building and also enjoy my view.

Moving into my new apartment has been such a fun and exciting change! It’s so much more modern and well-kept than my last place, which makes it feel like a big upgrade. I’ve been getting everything set up and slowly making it feel like home. It’s nice having my own space to relax and decorate how I want. There are still a few things to figure out, but overall it already feels cozy and comfortable.

So far, I’m liking it. The hallway always smell great so every time I come in from work it just calms me down and remind me I’m home. Also Jessie is very helpful. Everytime I call her or send a mail for something, i get answers really quick.

I really love the amenities and events for the community. The location is strategically placed. The management and staff are friendly. I love living here.

The environment is safe and there are always activities for residents. However, I do wish the garage was cleaner especially since we are paying to park in the garage. The garage walls are extremely dirty and the garbage overflows and is often left unattended for days.

I’ve been living here since April 2025, and overall it’s been a great experience. The location is excellent, convenient to everything I need. The neighborhood is quiet. The amenities are solid and well maintained, and overall environment feels comfortable and safe.

Appreciate the sincerity but could do better. The rooms are 'industry' style and have pipes on the celling. Need to improve their pre-move in inspections but nice staff!

So far so good! Just moved in on Monday and it's already been a great experience! I was able to serve our community today DJ'ing at the annual pool party! A time was had!

We absolutely love living here; the community, staff, and amenities are all exceptional and create a truly wonderful resident experience! Brittany and Zach on the management team are incredibly professional, friendly, and always go above and beyond to make residents feel valued and heard.

Zach in the leasing office is fantastic! He’s quick to respond to emails and is such a friendly face to see in the apartment complex. The gym is great and the common living area is nice. They have cool events and love that they have local food trucks stop by! My two biggest issues would be the fire alarm constantly going off at all hours of the night and the elevator in building B is constantly out of order.

The apartment are well priced with plenty of space. The staff has been extremely kind and easy to reach. I work in the medical center, and it's less than 10 minutes drive to get there. Love the bathroom and kitchen!

The Citizen is an amazing community and my dog and I love it here! Zach is an amazing manager and he always makes sure we are well taken care of!

It’s has been so lovely! We haven’t been moved in for very long, but so far we’ve experienced such great service and communication from the staff and it has been such and easy and smooth transition into our new home !

The atmosphere here is very clean and quiet. I love midtown, so I am super happy with the neighborhood. The staff is awesome and very helpful!

Love everything so far. Love the amenities and the parking. Love the staff. Only thing I dislike is the smell in the hallway. Im not sure what it is.

Everyone has been so nice and helpful here! Love how accessible the leasing office is! They always work to fix any issues I have ASAP and are so kind and welcoming.

Very kind administration!! I have enjoyed my stay so far. I love the garbage pickup, the gym the pool, the package room and the in house storage unit.

Living at The Citizen has been a great experience so far. The community is clean, quiet, and feels really safe, which was a big priority for me. The apartment itself was spotless when I moved in, and everything from the appliances to the flooring feels modern and well-maintained. Staff members are very friendly and helpful.

It is a relief to live in such a community where every single person works to make my stay comfortable and convenient. Beginning with the Management and ending with the maintenance and cleaning people. The management and staff work around the clock to make sure all issues are addressed and have been taken care of. The place is constantly transforming to improving look, smell and function. I love how the office is actively striving to bring on board all creative activities and functions to the Citizen’s community to help build interactive social connections within their tenants. Praise be to God that we have such leadership.

I absolutely love living at the The Citizen! The location, staff responsiveness and safety of the building are worth the money!! Very quiet property!

I really love living here. Management is really on top of things, and I feel cared for as a resident. That is not something you get often--especially with a big company. But somehow they have found a great balance here!

5 star it's beautiful and clean. The staff is really professional. The amenities we have here at this property is well taking care of. I like the cover parking, we don't have clean no ice or snow of the cars or get wet going to our car.

I’ve absolutely loved calling The Citizen home for nearly four years! From the moment I moved in, the staff has been incredibly kind, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make residents feel welcome. Their warmth and dedication truly create a sense of community that sets this place apart. While there have been occasional hiccups with garbage collection in the past, they’ve always been addressed with care, and it hasn’t overshadowed my overall experience. What truly makes living here special are the community events—each one is thoughtfully planned, filled with positive energy, and a great opportunity to connect with neighbors. There’s a genuine sense of camaraderie here that makes The Citizen feel like more than just an apartment complex—it feels like home.

I very much enjoy living here at The Citizen. The office staff is so friendly and welcoming, as well as incredibly attentive to their residents!

The building management team is superb and they always make sure to communicate to the tenants about important news about the building or events that they are throwing.

We enjoyed our time living at the Citizen Memphis (outsiade of the frequent fire alarms, flooding last winter, and doors to the outside being constantly left open), but after moving out it's been more than 6 months and we still haven't received our deposit back from RPM Living after following up multiple times by phone and email. We left our apartment in excellent condition, did a walkthrough, and were told we would not receive the full amount. We've confirmed the send to address multiple times, and have been told multiple times they had tried to re-send it. There is no urgency or care in trying to resolve it, so be wary of getting your deposit back.

I have been living in the Citizen for about 2 years. The Citizen overall is fine - there is garage parking, pool, lounge, gym, dog washing station etc. At first glance, proximity to Starbucks and Kroger seemed appealing and has been helpful. However, at times I felt like I was living in a 3rd world country - so many power and water outages. I’ve gone 5 days without power in the winter during an ice storm, 5 separate days without water where I had to gather snow from outside and melt it to use to flush the toilet. There have been several painful instances of this kind of occurance due to the age of the building. But my real point I want applicants to be aware of is the staff tries to change things with an iron fist. There is no grandfathering in, no negotiation and because they withdraw from your bank account there is no real recourse. The second floor “free parking for residents” we got when I first moved in now has a hefty fee and they mandate the first floor be for nonexistent retail and parking for the clinic next door on threat of towing your vehicle if you don’t oblige. There is no other place to park for residents. They also instituted a mandatory trash can fee and valet policy - where you leave your trash out and some paid service comes and takes it for you. I take out my own trash and I asked to be excluded as I did not want the trash can that came with it “part of the fee” nor the service and they refused stating it was mandatory and that it came with the room. Essentially this new management keeps adding miscellaneous fees making everything more expensive than the rate you originally agreed to and there is no grandfathering in at what you started at. They threaten you with towing or fees if you don’t oblige and leave the existing tenants with no other options. I have been regularly disappointed by the Citizen’s policies and how they have forcibly chosen to implement them. Aside from that it is a nice place to live. The staff themselves are pleasant when you need assistance and are reasonable. I just think the policies they are being forced to push are not. The gym is reasonably stocked with equipment and they do try to have little events and food trucks for resident interaction. I just can’t get over the treatment of residents and their strategy when trying to implement change when the residents aren’t given options.

A new company took over into 2021 and it has been a horrible experience. The prior staff and company were absolutely amazing and made it feel like a real community. Had I known that this was going to happen during our lease, I would have definitely reconsidered looking elsewhere. The new staff is arrogant, aggressive and doesn't communicate well. We have had multiple issues with the garage gate not opening (mind you preventint me from picking up my partner after a late night shift), cleanliness issues with the trash rooms and hallways, and much more. The current staff does nothing but make excuses and "act" like they care. Again, prior to this management change, this was a beautiful place and the team was absolutely amazing. I'll be counting down the days of my lease.
