      Neighborhood

      Irvine Business Complex, or IBC, combines several residential, mixed use, and commercial zones for the ultimate live-work-play neighborhood. IBC begins on the west side of Downtown Irvine and extends to the Costa Mesa Freeway. The John Wayne Airport is located on the southwest side of the neighborhood. This newer neighborhood features modern architecture, palm trees, and wide sidewalks that lead past office buildings filled with high-tech companies, luxury hotels, and high-end restaurants.

      Apartment buildings, mixed-use developments, and single-family enclaves create a variety of choices for those moving to IBC. Along Main Street, residents enjoy everything from restaurants and shops to bakeries, bars, and breweries. At the north end of the neighborhood off Barranca Parkway, the District provides a large, outdoor shopping area with an AMC movie theater, several restaurants, shops, a Whole Foods Market, and specialty stores.

      We have been living here the past 3/4 months and have not been impressed. Items in our apartment were broken upon move in-to name a few, the fridge was broken, missing screen door, problems with kitchen faucet. Although these items were eventually fixed, the apartment building should have done a thorough check to make sure things were in order before we moved in. It really is a inconvenience when the fridge is not working and the emergency maintenance numbers they provide are not for the building you live in. Apartment has very cheap materials so definitely do not expect high end appliances. Cabinets were very worn upon move in, very dated washer and dryer, bottom of the line dishwasher and sink combo. You can hear noise from the neighbors above and below you, floors are not well insulated. We can hear the person walking around all day and can hear their TV going at night despite there being quiet hours after 10:00 PM. Something has always seemed to be broken in this apartment building, elevators are always out of order, the parking garage gate was out of operation for over a month, emergency water shut off's. Residents keep parking in visitor parking, making it very hard for visitors to actually find a spot to park there car when visiting and the Carlyle does not do anything about it. I have seen the same cars day in and and day out park in visitor parking spots when they have an actual assigned parking spot but is too lazy to go through the gate to get to the parking spot. They really need to enforce this more and either ticket or tow the cars that do this. People leave so much random crap laying around in the garage and the building does not enforce that people clean it up or just throw it away, it just looks tacky and low class. All utilities are shared, which is BS and it is allocated based on your unit size and number of individuals living in the unit. We do not turn on heat, but heat is through gas- so we are basically paying for other peoples utilities which is absolute BS. We CANNOT WAIT until our lease is up so we can move out. Avoid this place at all costs!

      I cannot be happier and more satisfied with my choice of apartment and the friendliness and prompt response to my needs. The Carlyle is centrally located to any shopping, freeway's, Library, Ocean. It has it all. When doors closed in the apartment, it is soundproof to the John Wayne Airport. ToniV

      Although the apartment itself and the community is very nice, the noise makes it unlivable. Screaming children, barking dogs, noisy neighbors, people in the courtyard at all hours of the night, airplane and helicopter noise, all contribute to an unacceptable and disruptive experience.

      I enjoy living at The Carlyle. I truly feel management tries to resolve any issues as quickly as possible. Also Management have very good attitudes. Always pleasant. We seem to have an ongoing issue with elevator lately which is frustrating but they do resolve it asap.

      The maintenance team is friendly and proficient. They respond immediately to requests and fix what they have material to fix. However, they need to be provided the means to acquire materials for problems that cannot be fixed with the materials they have on hand.

      At first the Carlyle seemed fitting, I do love my apartment however other issues came up where it’s lead us to be moving out. Some of these issues include but are not limited to the following 1- Roaches - you offer a FREE service where you have a third party company come to take care of pest control, however they came already 3x and still have not eliminated the roaches 2- FIRE ALARM - We’ve barely lived here for 9 months and have been outraged at the random fire alarms They stay on for a minimum of 5-8minutes at 1 in the morning or random during the day. This is completely unacceptable 3- TRASH UNIT - Everyone has access to the trash Shute to throw away their garbage however the handle is always locked in either recyclable or regular trash, forcing us to either bring it down or leave it outside the door which leads to making the garbage/ maintained persons job harder 4- Maintenance - Why does it take more than 3-5 days to fix anything, just hire more people. We have never waited that long to fix an appliance Our fridge stopped working, our freezer stopped working, microwave stopped working 2x,

      The location is great you have more then 3 freeways available to you, for frequent travelers its greta because you have John Wayne airport across the street from you I wish there was more guest parking, its weird how i'm not allowed to leave water bottles outside my door but people can have their shoes and statues/decor on their front door. FIX THE FIRE ALARM There has been several times when in the middle of the night the ENTIRE fire alarm system in the complex would go off, waking up and upsetting all neighbors, no wonder a lot of people are moving out Every other day we get an email about something being broken from no hot water, broken elevator, broken security gate ,it goes on and on get your sh**t together Greystar.

      18880douglas very bad experience the last 6 months or so and the manager did not even try to resolve the issues! first of all the Carlyle needs an onsite 24hr security guard! they lie and said there is on site security but the people that live here all know thats not true! if u have a problem they suggest u call the police but only after 10pm! I have lived here for over 7 years and things r getting worse at this complex not better! I guess it may be time to move on!!!

      I have wanted to move to this complex for a few years, my office is located on Von Karman and I like the Irvine Business Complex area. I am very happy a unit in the vicinity of the pool on the 1st floor was available. This complex is centrally located to the freeways and Newport Beach, and yet its tucked away behind the Hilton Hotel and is very quiet. Unlike so many apartment complexes in the area, traffic around the complex is very low, even though it's very close to the airport. The location allows me to avoid some of the heavier traveled streets such as Jamboree and MacArthur because I can use Von Karman to get home.

      I recently moved here and am so happy with the transition from a different apartment community. The main office personnel are efficient and friendly and willing to do the extra thing to make me feel welcome. The residents are also very friendly and I feel this is a direct reflection of the community and main people in charge. The new maintenance team with Javier at the helm is terrific. Very responsive! I plan on living here for a very long time!

      I have had the pleasure of living at The Carlyle for the past 8 months now and I have loved being here! My first interaction with the complex was with a leasing agent named Aimee who was so caring and friendly and helpful, I couldnt believe it! I literally wanted to be friends with her! The manager and the staff moved mountains to help my kids and I move in. I was going through a divorce and we were living in a hotel for several weeks. The move in day was incredible and the maintenance staff made sure to fix the couple of things needing fixed. As the months went by, the staff started bringing virtual activities and events to us, which was so fun! And throughout this horrible pandemic, they have worked with the residents to help us with financial difficulties and they NEVER judge anyone or treat them differently. I have never seen an apartment complex staff be as incredible as this staff has been! I even applied to work with them because I liked what they represented so much! Thank you Greystar for hiring these amazing people!

      I moved in May 2020. I love my apartment, the staff very efficient. #1 concern is the safety of all. Very friendly addressing us by our first name.       This property is well maintained, but aging and dated which makes it overpriced for the area. Most amenities are closed due to Covid which provides little benefit to renting here.

      We've all been experiencing scary times in the history of our country. The Carlyle has been a true safe haven. The staff goes above and beyond to meet my needs. The maintenance crew is superb! This is a lovely boutique apartment complex in a very tucked away location thats a stone throw into 4 cities that I love to visit. Its close to the 405 as well as the 73. Plenty of eateries within walking. I also ride my bike to the Newport Back Bay which is very important to me. This is my second year leasing here. I am very picky! The Carlyle is by far the best value as well as best overall living environment. Generous living space during so much confinement has been a godsend!

      Quiet & Friendly Place to live

      My husband and I have loved living at The Carlyle for the past 15 months. The staff and neighbors are friendly, maintenance issues are taken care of promptly. The interior courtyard is gorgeous and although we are in close proximity to the airport, the double pane windows keep the apartments amazingly quiet. With plenty of well manicured Irvine & Newport Beach business parks, this area is great for walking dogs and always feels safe. My favorite feature of this location is the size of our apartment: 1500 square feet for a two bedroom, 2 bath (Residence 3) with 12' ceilings and a fireplace (top, 4th floor only). I feel like I'm living in a home. We have parking for our five cars (my husband has 'car issues') and you feel like you're close to everything. The list could go on but after looking at many apartments in person, we were so happy to have found The Carlyle.

      This is a wonderful community to live in. The location is close to everything, the apartments are particularly spacious, with high ceilings and good size balconies. The pool area is beautiful and clean. Most importantly, the staff is very friendly, accommodating, and kind, with a genuine interest to improve the life of the community.       Terribly unreasonable management

      We were excited to move here because the complex is well maintained and we were pregnant with twins. However, as soon as we moved in, we found many minor repairs were needed and that the laundry machine was staining our clothes. Unfortunately, at the same time, I was admitted to the hospital for preterm labor resulting in our babies being in the NICU for 3 months. During this period, management blamed us for how we were washing our laundry. They did multiple tests on the machines which also resulted in stained clothes. They claimed this was because the shirt was old and had a myriad of excuses every time a load was done, and pictures were sent proving multiple damages to our clothes. After a month and a half and while living in the hospital, they offered to have US pay for a technician for their clearly broken machine. Ultimately we would caution ANY future residents due to the management of this otherwise beautiful building. Additionally, we are still waiting for them to fix some other minor repairs. This is especially challenging that they have not done so after multiple requests as we are simultaneously living in the NICU right now.

      Great for People who Travel Frequently

      This apartment is walking distance from John Wayne Airport so it is great if you travel frequently. Overall, the apartment is very quiet and I have been living here for over a year and have not had any problems. Living in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, the only thing that could be different is the size of the bedrooms. The master bedroom is a great size but when looking at the 2nd bedroom, it is just way too small. I have a full size bed in the 2nd bedroom and when I pull out my suitcase to pack for trip, the suitcase fills up the whole room. Other than that, the staff are really friendly and will come up to your rooms quickly if you need assistance.
