Downtown Bellevue hugs the coast of Lake Washington's Meydenbauer Bay, directly across the lake from Downtown Seattle. Bellevue is an award-winning city, with accolades like the best place to live and start a business. Downtown Bellevue is the heart of this popular city, housing many of the businesses, shops, and Downtown Park -- an emerald-green oasis covering 21 acres and featuring a promenade, shade trees, a canal, and a 240-foot-wide waterfall.
As the city's central business district, Downtown Bellevue covers only about 400 acres -- but it is densely populated with office buildings, hotels, entertainment venues, apartment buildings, and shops. Some of the neighborhood's largest employers include Expedia, Eddie Bauer, Concur, and Paccar. Microsoft, located in nearby Redmond, is the city's largest employer.
Bellevue Square contains a variety of shops and restaurants, while the Bravern is a mixed-use development containing offices, apartments, and shops.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Baxter
I have been a resident here for several years and have consistently experienced secondhand smoke infiltrating my apartment from neighboring units. Despite multiple complaints and assurances from management, this issue remains unresolved. The smoke enters my unit through the windows and bathroom vent, leading to health concerns such as severe headaches. This ongoing problem has significantly impacted my quality of life. The building's "no-smoking policy" is not being enforced, and management has failed to take meaningful action to address the situation. I have reached out numerous times via email and phone calls but have not received a satisfactory response or resolution. It's disheartening to see that management is not prioritizing tenant health and well-being. If you're considering moving here, be aware that tenant concerns may not be addressed promptly or effectively.
The units are nice, but there are constant water shut offs, dogs that bark loud enough for neighbors in apartment complexes across the street to complain - we all got an email about the dogs (and I've heard neighboring building tenants yell out their windows at night at our building because of the dog barks!) Most recently (today) we got an email that said the lower parking garage would be inoperable for the "foreseeable future" which means that the entire building is not secure. The elevator is also down about once a month... The office staff are not often on site and really not very helpful or friendly when they are. If the office staff had the inconveniences that we do, they would probably be a little more tolerant, I'm sure. Or at least pretend to be.
This place is a joke! It feels like there’s no privacy at times, construction workers just at your window whenever they please, in the hallways playing loud music early in the morning; my peephole was actually facing the wrong way into my apartment for a little bit and I had no idea. Everyone else has mentioned this but the water shut - off’s and my package being stolen as well! Also getting a random new manager downstairs instead of Simone so of course all of my concerns were left unanswered. I can’t wait for my lease to end!!!
Great apartment, the office staff is always helpful, and I love the location.
