West Ashley sits within the city of Charleston and is west of the Ashley River, hence its name, and is the birthplace of Hootie & the Blowfish’s frontman, Darius Rucker. Lined with mossy oaks, the Ashley and Stono Rivers border West Ashley, creating the breathtaking scenery for which Charleston is known. West Ashley residents enjoy close proximity to the area's only indoor mall, the Citadel Mall, and a large number of big-box stores.
Situated seven miles due west of Downtown Charleston, residents can plan on a 15- to 30-minute drive, depending on traffic, to take in all downtown has to offer. Nearby Interstate 526, which feeds directly into Charleston’s Interstate Highway 26, gives residents a fast and easy route in and out of area. Mid- to late-1900s ranch-style homes characterize the housing in outer West Ashley, but neighborhoods built in the 2000s also sprinkle the area.

Hi there - we're thrilled to hear you are having such a great experience! Thank you for taking the time to leave us this positive review.
If you love to make noise and be a general nuisance to your neighbors, then this is the apartment for you! You will be able to stomp, run, build furniture, and scream at all hours of the night! All management will do is say that those noises are just "everyday noise". We have dealt with inconsiderate neighbors for the past 7 months and have received no help from management. The constant banging and running upstairs has disrupted our sleep, it makes our photos rattle on the walls, and overall prevents us from relaxing. After taking this issue to property management, they failed to respond for three weeks. That response was nothing more than them throwing their arms up and declaring there is nothing they can do. Despite their being in a clause in the lease that tenants are not allowed to disrupt the quality of life of others, our issues were dismissed. I brought this up in person with management after we received our delayed response. It was admitted that what is considered to be a nuisance or excessive is subjective and very difficult to actually enforce. To go further, we had to provide audio/video evidence that we were experiencing what we claimed. However, regular iPhone recordings were not effective at capturing these issues, except for the overly egregious noises. You'd basically need professional equipment to provide anything that would get our concerns taken seriously. I left that meeting with an explicit request to receive a timely update on the matter. Three weeks later I was contacted about a separate question I had about the change in payment options. When I reminded them about not receiving any updates, I got a quiet "I'm sorry". That was over three months ago and there has been no real change. Overall, the few little things that aren't really "luxury" can be over looked except for the major issue mentioned above. There has been a light fixture hanging off the exterior of building 10 for almost as long as we have lived at this property. We pay for amenities such as community grills, but good luck finding one that has gas or works outside the two at the pool area. The bathroom tile is just painted over and easily chips. The base panel by the dish washer is just there. It's not nailed or secured in any way. The new resident/payment portal put into use is nothing more than a hub of advertisements. There is no more real substance to it than the previous portal. This property is not worth the price!

Maintenance team is top notch. Management’s conflict resolution is awful. We are miserable half the time, and management has said there is nothing to be done. Everyday living for one resident is grounds for a noise complaint for us.

This is a great community to live in. Very quiet, lots of club house activities inside and outside, and for the most part safe. I say for the most part because realistically crime is everywhere, however here at The Avenues at Verdier Pointe They have taken major steps in this community to make certain that we the tenants are kept informed and as safe as possible.
The Avenues at Verdier Pointe was the only place I checked before I decided to move in with my family of 4. Great location, 10 min from my children's school, 5 min from grocery stores. A lot of amenities that works great for us: beautiful pool with salt water, grill and barbeque area in several locations, pit fire, bicycle rentals, game room, a lot of walking/riding the bikes/roller blades areas around us, quiet and fresh air. Just love it!

I have lived in various apartments in different states since 2008 and The Avenues at Verdier Pointe feels the most like a community rather than simply an apartment complex. The management and maintenance staff are the friendliest and most responsive I have worked with. The price point was under what I expected for the abundance of amenities, quiet location, and quality of the units (recently updated). If you want easy access to Charleston and surrounding areas without the headaches of inner-city life, I very much recommend The Avenues at Verdier Pointe.

The management team of Shelly, Emma , and Nay are always very attentive, always helpful, and very friendly. The team are here offering fun activities for the residents several times throughout the month. The fitness facility has the latest in equipment and is always clean. All the amenities are great and very well maintained ! The maintenance crew of Mario and Brian are excellent and very responsive. It’s a quiet area and very convenient to West Ashley park ,grocery stores, Walmart, restaurants. I found a gem for my new home !

This company that took over is absolute garbage. They treat their long term residents who are paying a premium to live here like crap and have a massive termite infestation. Stay away. I currently live here and up until this new management company I have been happy. Now its like dealing with an overbearing parent every day.

We just love our apartment. It’s very spacious comfortable clean and quiet. We have wonderful neighbors and enjoy getting out and doing things together. Our poodle loves the pet walk and meets furry friends every day. We work out in the great gym area and look forward to the pool area this summer. The apartment is located close to everything so convenient. We are so happy about our decision to move here. Thanks to the great staff for making us welcome and feel like this is home!!

Over priced and the management people either rude or absent all together. A lot of turnover in that area. Amenities are closed more often than not. There is dog crap everywhere. Mountains of ant beds adorn the property. Kitchen design and appliances are nice, but the cabinets are cheap.

The Avenues at Verdier Point is easily my favorite apartment complex I’ve ever lived in! The facilities are beautiful and well maintained. The pool is stunning and a great place to meet the other residents. I received excellent customer service from the leasing guy, Will, and the maintenance team as well. The other ladies in the office are very nice and always greet you with a smile. Rachael has a kind heart and really cares about her residents. These apartments are the best in all of Charleston! If your moving to this area, definitely check out the Avenues. It’s a great place to call home!

I love living at the Avenues at Verdier Pointe. The apartment is very spacious all the neighbors are very friendly. We have a dog and I just love the pet walk around the complex and our dog loves to get out and meet all the dogs on the pathway. The apartment comes with a washer and dryer so that saved us from having to buy one. We specially love the gym area and the pool area The office staff is always friendly and always takes time to stop and say hi. The maintenance guys are just as friendly and always take care of all my problems even if it’s just to change a light bulb. I would recommend this apartment complex to all my family and friends. It feels like home.

Once prompt service has devolved to taking weeks for simple requests. A/C filter changes and plumbing issues ignored. Fine place to live if you can tolerate negligent staff ignoring requests to service basic utilities.
I have been living here for over 2 years, and I cannot wait for my lease to end so that I can move. It used to have great leasing agents and possess a real community feel. However, that has all gone downhill since new management took over. The agents are incompetent, and the management is just as bad. It went from feeling like a home to nothing more than a business. The apartments are terribly insulated, costing residents to hemorrhage money each month. When it was brought to their attention, not a single thing was done. At one point, they hired a tow company to come through the complex and tow vehicles for minor registration violations and damage to vehicles. I personally had my car towed all the way to Ladson because the sticker on my license plate had peeled off. Naturally, the complex had no sort of compensation for any people who had their vehicles wrongly towed. The place has nice amenities, but none of it makes up for the difficulty of living here. Do yourself a favor and pass.

Apartment homes have nice features and the outside areas have been nicely landscaped; including a pond, waking area, while keeping bigger old trees, this area feels like you are away from the hustle and bustle.
The Avenues is a great apartment...layout is good, closets are huge, kitchen is nice...the only problem is apartments aren't clean upon move in & grounds need a little attention.
The area: super quiet, secluded, close to Publix, Bi-Lo, Walmart, I-526, Glenn McConnell Parkway, and Savannah Highway. It's also close to Limehouse bridge--supposedly one of two best crabbing spots in the area. The downside? Well, it's a fairly new development area, which means that cell reception here isn't great (even for Verizon), but with wifi and wifi calling, it's a fairly small hurdle to get over. The apartment: great amenities, granite countertops, new stainless steel appliances, flat-top stove that heats up SUPER quickly. The combination of layout and insulation makes this apartment very quiet on the inside as well. My bedroom is next to the stairs so it doesn't share a wall with another apartment, and I NEVER hear anything from outside thanks to good sound insulation. My living room seems to share a wall with my neighbor's and even though I can hear some thumping bass sometimes, I can't hear anything discernible from the TV or speakers. The ceiling is tall, so it feels more airy, and the insulation from the outside is so great that even though Charleston is hotter and more humid than the NC city I came from, I am able to have my AC set to 77/80 in the middle of July and still feel comfortable. I haven't received my first electricity or water bill yet, so maybe I'll update (if possible) once I get them.
