I love living at the Atherton! Beautiful Apartments right in the center of Southend, you wont find another building with the location and quality like this one. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and they plan fun resident events that you actually want to go to.

If you’re a working professional, do not live at The Atherton. It feels more like “South End University” than an apartment building. People have spit Zyns on my door, knocked over my trash can, generally immature people… it’s loud almost every night from the live band at Sycamore to the street cleaner that comes blaring through at 11PM on Sundays. The parking garage and building are a total nightmare. The elevator by me hasn’t worked for weeks. There have been multiple car break-ins and bike thefts… and the building itself doesn’t feel safe or secure at all. The Atherton isn’t it. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

I absolutely love my stay at this apartment! The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of everything, making it so easy to get around whether you're walking, using public transport, or just exploring the neighborhood. The apartment itself is spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of room to relax or work comfortably. One of the standout features has to be the stunning floor-to-ceiling windows—they let in so much natural light and offer beautiful views of the city. Highly recommend!

I really like almost everything about the apartment, the location you can’t beat. You can walk to mostly anything you need. The apartments themselves are spacious and well done. The only issue I see is the noise.

Nice building with friendly neighbors and great amenities . Maintenance requests are handled quickly, and the location is convenient for bars and restaurants. Only qualm is the shared parking garage which is a zoo on the weekends. Overall, a solid place to live.

Besides safety concerns of bikes being stolen, cars being broken into, and unauthorized people being let into the building, it’s a decent place to live if you enjoy loud noises and neighbors who act like it’s a frat house… watch you step! Residents don’t pick up their pet waste.

I love living at the atherton - all of the amenities are nice and the staff here is super helpful. The apartment is also in a perfect location where you can walk to basically any store you would need. Our layout is very spacious and includes updated appliances.

I love living at the Atherton. It's in a great neighborhood and really upscale amenities. My apartment is spacious and updated, and I'm a short walk to any restaurants, shopping and bars.

I have been living here for 8 months and so I am enjoying the warmer months more because it seems more people are out. The winter months the building tries to have activities but not a lot of people go so it’s been a little more hard to meet other residents. The facility is very clean and plenty of room to work, work out, hangout in different areas. The landscaping is kept up with often and the maintenance team always responds so quickly. Parking on weekends is a little bit of a hassle and there are not enough guest spots.

There are a lot of positives about living at the Atherton. Unfortunately, there are some cons, too. For instance, the hallways aren't well-maintained, with scuffs on the walls and chipped paint. The parking garage is also annoying, especially with non-residents trying to drive up only to realize they have to turn around on the weekend. The fire alarm also frequently goes off, whether at 1:00am or in the afternoon during frequent testing without warning.

Overall, very clean and organized apartments. Maintenance has been very helpful to fix issues that we did have. Location is great so that is also a plus. The price is expensive but worth the convenience of living in a good spot of South End with good neighbors.

Pretty great experience overall - building is nice and well maintained along with great location! I recommend to anyone who wants to take advantage of the South End breweries and food scene!

I have lived here for almost 4 years now. Location, access to restaurants, and light rail are all great. Parking, Fire alarm, pool, and cleanliness could all be improved.

Good tour, helpful, kind, and everything was answered. The staff was good apartment was well maintained and clean. lots of space and pool area is nice.

The apartment is great, front office and maintenance staff are attentive and friendly. The events are always great. Only complaint is the parking company they utilize (LMS) is incompetent and predatory. Other than that, great place to live

Living at The Atherton is great! It’s convenient to everything from shops to breweries and restaurants, to workout studios, salons, and more. The building itself is always clean and has activities to participate in a few times a month to meet neighbors or a night out at no cost. I’m from out of state and I have felt right at home here!

Great amenities, but the pool has been closed for three months, and the staff have been unresponsive lately. But it's a beautiful building and ideal location.

Hi Eleanor. Our pool was closed temporarily due to some drain replacements that we were required by the city to perform. As of a couple of weeks ago, the pool has been open. We are sorry that you've had a hard time reaching us. We did reach out and got you squared away. Thanks.

Great Apartment with lovely amenities and optimal location! If I were staying in Charlotte I would definitely be renewing my lease. Would highly recommend to anyone moving to Charlotte/looking for a new place to live

Everyone is incredibly friendly. It is in the perfect location. The gym is amazing. Honestly so ideal. This is definitely one of the nicest spots in South End.

The atherton has been a wonderful place to call home for the last 2 years but the experience has gone downhill due to staffing changes. The staff themselves are great the turnover has just made for gaps in current staffs knowledge and the loss of the weekly resident event that the leasing office used to throw. Add in the consistent elevator problems, the malfuntioning fire alarms, and the pool closure the property could use some work to be worth its high rent.
