Property Ratings at The Alexander
We have lived at The Alexander for a very long time, but thankfully are no longer there. As one of the earlier residents at this property, if you asked me to give a rating years ago I would have given it a 4, or possibly even a 5. Now, it barely earns 1 star. For starters, management within the last year or so has completely gone downhill. It is now run by rude people who really don’t care about their jobs and the residents, not to mention many of them use the property as their own personal party spot. The maintenance staff has also become completely useless to residents, and they—along with people in management/leasing—are some of the rudest people I have ever met in my life. We had to endure many frustrating situations with them because appliances began to break down, and there were multiple floods in the building. With all the issues with the building employees and the multiple maintenance issues, the final straw for us was that they tried to raise our rent by hundreds and hundreds of dollars. For what!? They did not deserve one more cent from us, and I hope people seriously consider what they are actually getting with these increasingly abhorrent rent prices. It’s truly a shame. I hope Greystar does something because this building had such great potential.

The building is very good with many amenities and a responsive management for issues. There are some issues with management seeming to struggle with enforcing basic things (it seems on a selective basis). The building is supposed to be non-smoking but people smoke on their balconies which seep into windows and other balconies and management seems reluctant to enforce those rules as well as basic other courtesies.

The pool heater has been down for over a year with no end in sight. Floors and cabinets are cheap quality and aren’t wearing well. We’ve had our balcony door fixed twice but dirt and debris blow in every time it’s windy out.

The Alexander is great! They have many spacious floor plans with nice appliances and big windows. The amenities are awesome: indoor pool, gym, yoga studio, etc. The rooftop has beautiful views of the city. Garage parking is included in the rate. The location is very convenient to most Philadelphia neighborhoods and very close to Target and Whole Foods. The concierge downstairs is always helpful and friendly. The building feels very safe. I love living here!

The pros: Our apartment faces the art museum so we get to see beautiful sunsets. The maintenance and concierge staff is friendly and professional. Management puts on lovely social events for the residents. The cons: parking is a nightmare. we were told that we could get a pass to park on VINE. this is wrong. the only street parking for us with the pass is on WOOD Street. The closets are small. If you have a lot of clothes or live with a partner, these closets will not cut it.

Everyone who works at The Alexander is so incredible! They even checked on my cat for a few days over winter break (including Dec. 24th and 25th), when I couldn't find a pet sitter. It wasn't part of their job descriptions, but they went above and beyond :)

Alexander is a great community to live in. They have all the amenities and everything is accessible from the apartment. We love exploring the center city community mainly because of the lush green spaces, the restaurants, and other activities which are just a few minutes' walk from our apartment.

The Alexander is a beautiful apartment building. I have been living here for just about a month now; the staff are very nice and easy to work with, the windows allow tons of natural light in, and the kitchens in the apartments are very nice! I'm sure all of the amenities are really nice, but I haven't had the chance to check them all out just yet! Overall, love the property and the apartment.

Recently moved in to The Alexander and the whole experience has been amazingly great! From the group of administration to the front desk and maintenance people, everyone has made me feel like home. The few residents I have been able to meet and run into in the hallways and elevators have been so courteous and nice! I cannot hear a noise even though it is a very central area. Everything inside the building is so neat and clean! The apartment I chose exceeded my expectations. I am really glad I chose The Alexander!

Ive recently moved to The Alexander and feel very happy with my choice. The Concierge team is very professional, friendly and attentive to the residents needs.
