Even though it sits directly south of Madison, Fitchburg feels miles away. The University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum is on the north end of the city, along with Capital Springs State Recreation Area, giving the city a wooded, suburban appearance. The south end of the neighborhood features rolling farmland, adding to the pastoral feel.
When choosing a Fitchburg apartment, be aware that the north side, closer to Madison, is slightly more populated. The commercial center of the city is along Verona Road, while the south side features more open green space. The city offers more than 700 acres of park space and includes hiking trails, greenways, a community center, and a golf course.

Property Ratings at The Addison
Lived here from 2018-2025. Lived first in one of their studio apartments and then a 1B/1B. Initially no complaints and found it to be a good value for the monthly rent. That has changed since. I believe in late 2023 a new property manager took over. She is very rude and unhelpful with any requests. The emails she sends out to the entire complex has the tone used for scolding children. The complex is now also getting relatively old, with many of the kitchen appliances (and washer/dryer) needing replacements. We had an issue with our dryer and it literally took 3 months and multiple maintenance requests to get it fixed. We also had issues with black mold in all the window sills, around the balcony door, and in the bathroom. Regardless of what kind of anti-mold spray we used, it would quickly return. Long story short, there are many other newer apartment complexes in the surrounding area that offer a much better value, and better living situation. Would highly recommend avoiding this place. Note sure why it has a 4.7 rating when all but one review is 2 stars or less.
Management claimed a range of different reasons to take our entire security deposit and charge us more. We cleaned for 3 days prior to moving out and paid a cleaning company. They still claimed it smelled like cat and was left in awful condition. They also charged us 100 for a key we know was turned in. Our word against their word though. Appliances are cheap, the pool is crowded, gym is crowded, and management does care about anything besides collecting your rent.
The amenities are nice with the pools and a nice gym (when the equipment is functioning as intended). I overall enjoyed my time while I lived there. However, I was shocked at the move out and handling of the security deposit. I am a very clean person and I spent 3 days cleaning the apartment for move out but management was extremely nitpicky on inspection. They would just write “dirty” and nothing else. They also held me responsible for a repair that was not my fault and was a result of the construction so I ended up losing my $300 security deposit AND owing $120 additionally. This, in combination with the outrageous rent increase from one year to the next, show that they are more concerned with making money than keeping residents around.
Poor management and they will keep a significant portion if not all of your security deposit for what should be considered normal wear and tear.
It has been quite here for the last year, very peaceful, front office is very responsive.
It has been one month applying for an apartment and couldn't reach to them easily and after I reached to them they kept saying it's under review and they said that my kids cannot enjoy the swimming pool, it's only for adult's which sounded odd to me, they are extremely disrespectful and unavailable, it's not a healthy friendly environment, I will never recommend them to any one and if I could give zero stars I would but sadly I had to choose one star, they never got back to me for approval or denial even though I was waiting for one month.
Loudest apartments I have ever lived in. I hear EVERYTHING my neighbors do. The amenities are amazing, but the noise is not worth it. I'm unsure what "whisper technology" does, but it sure doesn't dampen the noise!
