Northwest Greensboro sits just 10 miles outside the downtown area, but it provides a vastly different view of the city than the streets and suburbs around the city center. With access to Lake Higgins and Lake Brandt, Northwest Greensboro is a scenic setting that’s perfect for anyone who wants to be near urban conveniences, but enjoys the thrill of outdoor adventures and afternoons on the water.
The area of Northwest Greensboro is made up of a number of fantastic, unique neighborhoods and engaging apartment communities. The area’s vibrant outdoor atmosphere is broken up in spots by conveniently located shopping centers, big-box stores, and a few restaurants along the main thoroughfares. Bur-Mil Park provides 250 acres of pristine land set between the lakes to the north, and there are plenty of bike trails along the shores as well. Commuting to the city takes just a few minutes thanks to the interstates that serve the area.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Terrace Oaks & Olde Battleground
I live in another state and came to Greensboro to look for apartments. I scheduled an appointment for Friday 3/15 at 2:30 PM. They confirmed my appointment, and two hours prior to my scheduled time they sent an email that they were excited to show me an apartment. I arrived about 15 minutes early and when I went to the door there was a sign that stated that office was closed for the afternoon. The door would not open and there were not lights on inside. I went back to my car to wait and see if they would arrive back and at 2:30PM they still did not show up. They obviously don't need my business.

Been here for 8 months and the office staff and maintenance staff have been nothing short of amazing and helpful. Quiet neighborhood and great location!
I've been living at Battleground Oaks for about 1 month. The lease signing process went smoothly and transparently. There were a few minor issues with the apartment (e.g., closet doors not sliding properly, sinks draining slowly, etc.) that should have been taken care of beforehand. However, the maintenance supervisor came and took care of them on a Saturday even though they aren't officially classified as "urgent" issues. I really like the apartments here because you get a lot more storage space for the size and rate of the apartment compared to other communities nearby. The grounds are well kept and the neighbors seem pleasant. The location is very convenient, and it's a quiet community -- except when the Walmart that neighbors us is busy loading/unloading trucks in the middle of the night or early in the morning. But I'd rather hear that instead of neighbors and/or their pets.
Neighborhood is great, and it's close to everything in Greensboro. My unit is very spacious and laid out well, except the pantry is partly blocked by the refrigerator. Also units need some updating. I've been looking at other buildings lately that have been upgraded and are not much more than these. The neighborhood is why I gave these apartments 3 stars, or I would have given it a 2. Updating the units would put Battleground Oaks at a 4 or 5 star.
