Home to UCLA, Westwood lies on the west side of the city and is considered to be one of Los Angeles’ premier neighborhoods. Bordered by Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood, and Century City, multimillion dollar homes populate the landscape and students pay a premium to rent near campus.
The university itself serves as a major cultural center for the community, including on-campus attractions (such as the Fowler Museum and the Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden) and university-affiliated venues off-campus (The Hammer Museum, the Geffen Playhouse), as well as the presence of thousands of students and faculty members throughout the neighborhood.
Directly south of campus, Westwood Village is a historic shopping district that features blocks of restaurants and businesses catering to both students and the neighborhood’s larger workforce. Many prominent corporations and law offices are found along Wilshire Boulevard, one of the busiest east-west transit corridors across the city.

Property Ratings at Strathmore Veteran
I've had a wonderful experience living here! The community is clean, quiet, and well-maintained. The management team is professional, responsive, and truly cares about the residents. Maintenance requests are handled quickly, and the common areas are always in great condition. I also love the location, and I would highly recommend this apartment .
I’ve had a really good experience living at Strathmore Veteran. The apartment itself is super cute—updated floors, bright lighting, and I especially love the blue kitchen cabinets. It feels clean and modern, which was important to me when I was apartment hunting. The location is honestly one of the best parts. It's walking distance to Westwood Village and super close to UCLA, which is super convenient. I also like that it’s easy to hop on the 405 or 10 when I need to drive somewhere, but day-to-day, I can walk to most things. There’s also a nice pool and sun deck, which is a bonus, and the management team has been responsive whenever I’ve had a question or needed something fixed. That kind of support makes a big difference. Overall, I’ve felt really comfortable living here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Westwood.
I don't recommend living here. I stayed for over2 years, and honestly, where do I begin? Yes, the management is quick to fix things if you submit a request, but when you need to actually speak with the manager, she’s rarely available and not helpful often out of town. The covered parking is another issue. Random people frequently park in your assigned spot, and the manager responds late or doesn’t do anything, so even though you pay for parking, you’re left dealing with the mess. The apartment itself is tiny and overpriced. They don’t cover any utilities, and the water bill is split with another unit, so you end up paying an extra $110. If I had another chance, I definitely wouldn’t live here again. The only good thing is that it’s close to UCLA and that’s about it. Also, you can hear every step from the upstairs unit, and there's constant marijuana smoke from a neighboring unit. The sink is tiny, and every time you wash dishes, the water overflows because there’s just not enough space. Think twice before moving in. I was in a hurry when I moved here, and I’m just glad I’m out. They raised the rent to the maximum allowed every year.
I moved out on May 18 and still have not recovered the safe deposit. The manager and office are very reluctantly to respond the email and never pick up the call. Please think again before you sign the lease
