Somerset Apartments

Worst place I have ever lived. Had to deal with roaches the entire time. Flooding twice do to bad repairs by plumbers. Water outage due to not knowing how to test their main water pressure, but they did have portapoties to use. Entering your apartment without notice. Again worst apartment ever.

This place is a joke. They demand top dollar but it’s only one step up from the rainbow village down the street. It is not safe at all. There are people walking around all hours of the night, car break-ins apartment break-ins, the laundry room is not locked and homeless people stay in there. The pool is not supervised. They let anyone come in from out of the complex without any consequences. The police haven’t called numerous of times and they don’t do anything. The “new” office staff are all rude since the last manager left. Don’t rent from here.

Headline should say something alone. The property has improved quite a bit since then. Yes, the buildings and landscaping are dated, but improvements are being made. Apartment size, if you're not a hoarder or enjoy Florida furniture living, these are spacious enough. There has been an increase in family's which is nice. Pet owner attitudes have greatly improved. There's no question about location. Visit the property and do your homework. Cheers!

The management is excellent and the property is great.

Dog poo everywhere. Nasty dirty disgusting dog poop is everywhere. Dog owners even have the nerve to put it in the FREE green bags and then throw the dog crap in the bushes or on the ground. Nasty.

These buildings are infested with roaches, spiders and termites. You pay 5$ a month for pest control and no one ever comes out. It's horrible. Black mold coming from the air vents. We are leaving when our lease is up. We had roofers about 3 weeks ago redo our roof and while doing so we got brown water spots on our ceiling And a crack down the middle of our ceiling in our living room, we had maintenance come out and tell us they would have their drywall guys come out and fix it. Dry wall people came and said they'd have to come back because it was an all day job, ended up having the roofers come back instead a few days later walked in with a spray can and later said it'd take 5 minutes to do our ceiling... minding you there's a crack down the middle of it. Fortunately I had my fiancé talk to them so they'd fix it properly because we have an almost 2 year old running around here and we don't want our ceiling caving in on her. After complaining about them not fixing it they stick putty on the crack spray paint the water spots and call it a day. This place is a dump would not recommend. Could go on and on about everything bad here but you get the picture.

Place is falling apart, super outdated. Some tenants are junkies and cops coming looking for them. They don’t do too much of a screening who they rent it to. They keep raising the rent And the stuff in the office is super rude and not helpful. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place. Keep looking.

I lived here a few years ago and didn't have that many problems Maintenance eventually did their job Management was impersonal and didn't get involved with getting to know the residents A bit overpriced for the amenities and facilities you get. Not highly recommended in my opinion. The grounds were in need of repairs. Nice pool. Close to an awesome recreational facility. Not a bad location. Quiet neighborhood. Only 1 small laundry room. The other had burned down. Minutes from Indian rocks beach. Dark exterior lighting. Plenty of parking. Not a bad place to live but could be improved.

Dog poop everywhere. Rude people in the rental office. Not enough screening done to weed out problem tenants. Old. Termites. Homeless camp here and leave litter (beer bottles, cigarette butts, shopping carts, etc.) everywhere Your rent will keep going up.

I love living at Somerset Apartments. It's a great location (two miles from IRB), my neighbors are great and the leasing office employees are very nice. Anytime I have a service request or am in need of anything, they are quick to respond. The maintenance guys are very nice...always professional. What I spend each month for rent is reasonable (but who wouldn't like it to be less). The improvements they continue to work on are only making this community better and better!

I'm very content here at Somerset Apts. Upon sending a service request if needed the repair is done within 24 hrs on most events. The staff is VERY PLESANT & KIND & I plan on renewing my lease again in June 2018 for another year. Thank you to all the staff here.

Really mediocre buildings at best. If you're a loyal, rent paying, rule abiding, community building renter they reward you with a higher rent. Management is total garbage ( Dawn is actually exceptional ) Neighbors are usually terrible. Loud and obnoxious untrained animals that they don't pick up after and bark after quiet hours, leave trash wherever they feel like, drive anywhere they feel like ( tenants have even outright removed the "fence" that management installed several times ), party during the week late into the night, I could go on and on... If you can find anywhere suitable to live outside of Somerset Apartments, you should do so. Because these guys are doing the bare minimum to keep tenants.

i WOULD NEVER EVER RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIRST OF ALL I PAID FOR 2 APPLICATION FEES OF 50.00 EACH WHICH I WAS WELL AWARE THAT IT WAS NON REFUNDABLE. I ALSO PAID ADMINISTRATION AND CONNECTION FEE TO THAT TOTALED 169.95 THAT AT THAT TIME DAWN WHO IS ONE OF THE AGENTS TOLD ME THAT WAS REFUNDABLE IF I CHANGED MY MIND BY THE END OF THAT DAY. I CHANGED MY MIND AND CALLED THEM 5 PM ON SAME DAY TO CANCEL DAWN INFORMED ME THAT MY MONEY WOULD BE REFUNDED WITHIN 6-8 WEEKS OF 169.95. MONTH HAVE GONE BY AND NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO LISA ASSISTANT MANAGER WHO IS EXTREMELY RUDE AND DAWN ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. EVERYTIME I SPEAK TO THEM THEY HAVE A MILLION EXCUSES INCLUDING "ACCOUNTING IS BACKED UP THEY WILL SEND ANOTHER MESSAGE TO THEM". MORE WEEKS WENT BY AND I STILL DONT HAVE MY REFUND. I WENT IN TO THE OFFICE TODAY 9/15/2017 AND LISA WAS RUDE AND SAID IT IS NON REFUNDABLE AND SHE WAS TOO BUSY TO GO ON THE COMPUTER AND PRINT ME THE CONTRACT I SIGNTED. I AM GETTING A LAWYER NOW BECAUSE THIS IS FRAUD AND UNACCEPTABLE. ARE THEY STRUGGLING THAT MUCH WITH TENNANTS THAT THEY KEEP MONEY THAT DOESNT BELONG TO THEM. FORGOT TO MENTION ONE OF THE REASONS I CHANGED MY MIND WAS BECAUSE AS I WAS PAYING THIS MONEY 2 COPS CAME IN LOOKING FOR A TENANT. THAT WAS THE GAME CHANGER FOR ME.

I've lived here a long time and rent increases used to be small but now they are always high. They don't take care of things they email us about. For example, they say you can't have things under the stairs or anything on the patio except for patio furniture but there is a building close to mine that has an apartment that looks terrible outside - all kinds of things under the stairs, cleaning supplies outside often, way more than just patio furniture out. So they say you can't do that but then do nothing about it when someone does. If a neighbor is noisy, they say to call the police instead of them taking care of it.

Everything is VERY old. I've been here 6 years and my dishwasher has never worked. They just keep putting band-aids on stuff and not replacing them. My stove is very old and doesn't heat right and the vent is one in the wall with a pull chain Hate it here but it's too expensive to move and they are known for making it very difficult to get deposits back

I had to sign three different leases due to them losing them. When they finally held onto one, I got a bill because they had put the wrong info into the computer. My kayak got stolen while being chained in the boat parking area. I gave them a two month notice and paid the termination fee, which I was given two different fees, and now I got a debt collection notice that they want more termination fee because I didn't stay the last week of my two months notice. The manager I spoke to on the phone, Lisa? Just kept reading me the same amounts on a bill she had and said " that's all I can tell you and I don't have time for this right now". Really?

These are some of the more affordable apartments in the area. However, they keep raising the rent every year. Last year they raised it 45 dollars for me, and when I have to renew again they are going to raise it by 80 dollars. The apartments haven't been updated since the 1960's, and they look kind of bad on the inside. I don't understand how they can raise the rent as much considering what we are getting for our money, but I can't afford to move at this point either.

Somerset is your normal place to live,when I first moved here, rent was 949.00 per month, but now it's 1040.00 I've been here for at least 9 years, it's nothing special, but it's quite reasonable, now my daughter is grown up, and, it's time, She find out how to function without, Her parents,So were looking to down size our apartment space,as we grow older save monies for our retirement, Somerset I'll recommend for, a family of 3 or four,but it's only flaw, it's nothing for the children to do, it needs a place ground,for kids to let go every once in a while.

The complex itself is not bad just expensive. Everything breaks all the time but at least maintenance will come and fix it. They are dog friendly which is always a plus.
