Cumberland, a charming town in western Maryland, sits at the intersection of the North Branch of the Potomac and Wills Creek along the Maryland-West Virginia border. Historically known as the “Queen City,” Cumberland provides a scenic atmosphere with charming attractions in this region of the state. On both sides of the river you’ll find a smattering of endearing vintage homes and a selection of affordable apartment communities. Cumberland received its name because of its invaluable location along the Cumberland Road through the Appalachians, and today you can still experience the beauty of the surrounding landscape via the Maryland Scenic Railroad that departs from downtown.
