Settled in 1640, Winchester's historic district is a step back in time -- only today the brick buildings are filled with elegant boutiques, antique shops, sidewalk cafes, restaurants, and other businesses. Located just eight miles northwest of Downtown Boston, Winchester is a popular location for commuters -- a ride on the "T" only takes about 20 minutes from Winchester Center.
Winchester borders the Middlesex Falls Reservation, a 2,575-acre park that is home to Stone Zoo, Spot Pond, hiking trails, picnic areas, and an off-leash dog park. The park is also a great location for cross-country skiing, fishing, mountain biking, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and horseback riding. On the north end of town, Horn Pond Recreation Area is also great for hiking and bicycling.

Property Ratings at Sanctuary Winchester West
This is one of those buildings that was built as cheaply as possible so the developers can cash out to private equity. You know those new-build home inspection videos on the internet showing how everything is falling apart? This is exactly like that. The whole building is made of paper thin wood so you can literally hear and feel your neighbor's every step and move. The entire ceiling flexes up and down and the kitchen island lights shake when the person upstairs walks around. Of course, the windows don't close properly, bedroom doors have 1" gap at the bottom and doesn't latch properly, 1 of the 2 elevators is constantly down, also power went out twice in 6 months.... The 4 lane highway next to the building with cars going by at 50+mph is also quite loud, as you would expect. Even with the windows closed you can definitely hear the motorcycles and sirens.

This place is getting worse by the day. Management doesn’t clean, the elevator breaks all the time, they don’t care about neighbors making noise, and a person died and in the building and they didn’t even care to communicate with the people in the building. Really horrible. We are trying to move out.
I have a great experience from the beginning, the way they treat me was very educate, professional and considered, attention to detail and make things easier and simple. I appreciate specially Connor for giving me a first class customer service and be considered and understanding with my move and changes that I did. I highly recommend Santuary and their personnel . No every place have great Manager and cordial people. Peace of mine is a lot now in life, grateful I moved here .
My husband and I love our new apartment. The clean modern decor fits well with most furniture styles. The storage space is fantastic. The views are lovely from our balcony. The management and staff are friendly and helpful. I could go on so much to like about this place.
The apartments are beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful. I know I'm gonna love living here.
