Rivers landing is a great place to live I particularly love the in unit laundry and the quietness of the neighborhood. If I had one critique it’s that the apartment complex has a serious water bug issue and something needs to be done. I cannot leave my home after dark in the warmer months because they swarm the doors and parking lot area. If they can get the bugs under control it would be the perfect place

When I first moved out here it was called Heathers Lake and under different management. I will say since the redevelopment of the neighborhood and leasing staff that my experience has been better, much better.

Rivera Landing has been one the best places i have lived since moving to Va. The staff is amazingly nice and helpful. Whenever i have a question about something dealing with maintenance they answer immediately. If it needs to be fix or replaced to my liking it’s done in a timely matter. I’ve never experienced anything as friendly,and very professional until my family and I moved here. I will say the way everything is going and how it’s never a problem living here. I think we’re going to be here for awhile. Thanks for making my living experience very peaceful and comfortable.

Rivers Landing is a 'cul-de-sac' community. As such, the people coming into the neighborhood are part of the neighborhood. The buildings and grounds appear to be well maintained, and the community in general seems to be peaceful and family oriented. Seems like a nice place to live.

The community is awesome. I’ve loved my place since i moved in, the maintenance team is probably the best part of the whole living experience. Timed responses, quick turn around, efficient! Never lived a place where the needs are taking care of so quick. The office is staff is awesome as well, other than the small issues with the kids in the hallway and smoking it’s not a bad community.

Rivers Landing is amazingly beautiful. It's very spacious for family with kids. The kids can enjoy the playground also the pool area. Neighbors are very nice. Everyone respects everyone. The staff is wonderful. Ms.Delores helped me and my family throughout the entire. Process she answered every question I had and also checked on us after we first moved in. My experience here has been excellent! I am in a quiet building, ( may be too quiet for some). This is a good community, has been for the past few years. Since rents are high all over, this may be the place for a person/family to seriously look into.

We have been here since March 2018 (five years ago) when the property was called Heather Lake. I could sense and see an immediate change in the way the Rivers Landing team takes care of business. I feel that management team didn't waste any time coordinating changes to the physical property while tackling unexpected and routine issues. I feel the property is in more comparable hands with Rivers Landing. So long as you are a good neighbor, have good neighbors, and pay your rent on time, you will love it here. That's the formula.

I can’t wait to move
I lived here for 2 years and Heather lakes (before Rivers Landing) was better. They knew how to communicate. Rivers landing don’t answer phones, don’t give call backs, don’t do no maintenance work, they just sit in the office all day doing nothing! DO NOT MOVE HERE! It’s not worth it. It’s like they love to see you struggle here. They aren’t helpful. They are liars

Rivers Landing is an awesome environment to live in. We love the playground, pool, and the calmness of sitting by the lake. Such a safe and caring community that offers up to four bedrooms and is very spacious for residents with big families, also they offer a great amount of storage space.

Very unprofessional, Poor service , since change of management everything is worse , lack of communication, wrong information given thank you for the survey will speak to someone that actually cares and is able to fix things I pay my rent ontime and your management team cares nothing about the tenets and what really matters . Overall it’s a nice place to live and raise your family. It’s expensive of course, but living in a nice quiet neighborhood is a plus for me!

Save money
There is absolutely a HORRIBLE BUG problem. The cockroaches they are huge with wings. I have one fallen on me while I was in my bed from the ceiling. They are all over my kitchen, I found them in my kitchen utensils drawer. I wish I could upload pictures because it’s ALOT!

Avoid at all costs!!
Bad roach problem. I've had roaches crawling on my bed wake me up at night. I've found them in my cabinets where I keep food. They'll spray for them but this does little to help. The lady in charge is very rude. I would not recommend this to anyone. I haven't even mentioned the moldy smell I've had in my apartment since I moved in eight months ago.

Decent Walls
Most apartments have extremely thin walls, these have a good thickness. Not soundproof but a lot quieter than other a lot of newer buildings.

Keep searching for better options
Do not move into this property! Unless it’s going to be temporary placement. Find other avenues. In the 2 years I spent at this complex there were multiple issues including the disrespectful staff members in the leasing office, constant leaks, and their never ending scam to squeeze more money out of their residents. I lived in two different units and not by choice. My first unity had a God awful leak and they sent out shotty contractors to “fix” the issue and upon “completion” they left blood, dirt, cement, dirty hand prints, and used sharp tools in the room where the leak was being worked on as well as in the main hallway. I took photos and went to the leasing office to inform them of the horrible condition that was left and they sent a regular maintenance worker to clean it up. Then no more than a few days later the leak returned. At this point I was livid and requested to be moved to another unit because of the horrendous condition my apartment was in. They granted that request only after threatening to call city code compliance. Then they had the audacity to charge me for cleaning upon moving to a unit directly upstairs from my previous unit and for repainting the walls even tho it was an emergency move. Fast forward to my new unit which wasn’t cleaned properly upon moving in as far bathrooms are concerned. It has old tile and grout that should have been replaced because no matter how much you clean, it always appeared dingy. I again had to deal with roof leaks, broken AC units, bugs from neighbors leaving their garbage bags in the hallway, etc.This complex is horrendous.I encourage anyone thinking about moving here to have a little more faith and keep searching to find better avenues of abodes.

You can find a better townhouse for a cheaper price
I lived here for 2 months and hated it...the rent is too high for something not even worth it...they need to upgrade if they want people to pay all that money...once cockroaches came into my place I packed my stuff and left didn't care about the lease agreement because they didn't care to get terminx...my dryer was broker for a month and would run all night making my electric bill 400..people with dogs don't clean up after them...you can find a 4 bedroom Townhome with a better upgrade for a cheaper price this place is a joke I wouldn't recommend to anybody

OH WOW! I have found my retirement place! My apartment here at Heather Lake is spacious, peaceful and quiet! I can go out on my balcony and watch traffic go by or just watch the birds around the lake! It is wonderful living in such a place that feels so comfortable to live in!

Country Club Apartment
I live in a one bedroom apartment and pay $720 for rent a month. The apartment is extremely spacious for a single occupant, with about 780 square feet. The layout is great and two of the walls in the bedroom are lined with nothing but closet space. They also offer additional storage behind the laundry room. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. I haven't seen or heard of any fighting, drugs or break-ins within the complex. The walls are somewhat thin but the neighbors are usually quiet and respectful, and i haven't heard any loud music as of yet. Usually in Hampton, that peace of mind comes only with the more expensive complexes. In the day time, planes from Langley AFB can be heard flying. In some of the apartments, appliances are old and the kitchens could use rennovation. There are a few maintenance items that hadn't been completed when I moved in but the leasing office told me to make a list of everything and the maintenance guy would be out to fix it the next day. Verizon Fios is not offered at this complex, which was a disappointment. Pets are allowed but there is a restricted breed list with pitbulls, german shepherds, etc. Alot of my neighbors have pets and for the most part they pick up after them. The leasing complex issues a $50 fine if caught. The two bedroom apartments have washer and dryer hookups and the one bedrooms do not. I've had to adjust to having a dryer and washing machine in the kitchen that is hooked up to my sink. Also, it's an additional $35 for the convenience but i prefer that to the laundry room. There is a pool in the middle of the complex and that is one of the few ammenities, along with dishwashers and garbage disposals in the kitchen. In the summer and the spring, they hire a lifeguard and lots of residents bring their kids to the pool to swim or just sunbathe. The rest of the year it is drained, covered and locked. The stoves are electric and the complex uses central ac. It is necessary to call the gas company for heat in the winter. The AC works well in every part of my apt but the bedroom, but I keep forgetting to call maintenance to fix. Upon move-in, I was surprised that the apartment does not come with a fire extinguisher or a microwave and there isn't fixed lighting in the bedroom so I had to buy a microwave and a floor lamp. The bathroom is nice but I wish the hot water heater was bigger as I only get about 15-20 continuous minutes of hot water. I receive many compliments and this apt is a great value for the price!

MY Serenity
Six years ago I retired from a busy New York City suburb and moved to Virginia, to be closer to my son. My first apartment was Ok , even had a wood burning fireplace, but was in an incredibly busy intersection. I searched for many months to find what I was looking for and hit the jackpot!! My wonderful apartment is bright and airy but that is not what is so great I can sit out on my patio and look out at a beautiful river site. The wild life are incredible. This spring I watched a parade of 40 ducks parade past my patio, from ducklings,teens and the parents. I now have a pet crow who perches on my chair calling for food. He and my cat Didi have no fear of each other. I have saved the best for last. Every night at ten o'clock as I'm laying in bed I can hear the clear sound of Taps being played at the airforce base nearby. A great way to end my day. Of course if I'm up early enough Reverly gets me going! I just love it here! I I
