I currently live in building 190. I wanted to thank the hardworking maintenance team - Andy and Marvin. They helped us resolve an issue with our kitchen sink and dishwasher recently. It was not an easy fix, but Andy and Marvin fixed the problem quickly. They always are friendly, helpful and can fix everything.
There are many pros to living here. I've been here for 2.5 years so far and haven't had any major complaints except for the parking, which is limited due to Rahway Parking Authority owning most of it in the back. The rent is pricey, but you get what you pay for, and you're paying for the proximity to the train station. There are many things to do in Rahway and this location is in the center of it all. Your packages are always delivered to your door and are never bothered no matter how many days they stay out there. The downside would be the high rent and the rent increases. My lease is almost up and I'm torn between staying and leaving because I don't think I could afford another increase. The super Alex is amazing and responds promptly. Overall, I've truly loved living here.

Our on-site staff strive to create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for all current residents and prospective tenants. The customer service experience and responsiveness of our Maintenance Team supports our commitment to ensure the safety and comfort of all residents’. We greatly appreciate your recognition of the Maintenance team’s efforts. Though parking is limited, we do offer off street parking as well as garages. Our community offers package receiving and we hope to soon be expanding our services to include door to door laundry and dry cleaning services. The Rahway train station is just a short walk from our building and though this is a popular feature; the walk-ability of the area can also be highlighted. River Place at Rahway is centrally located and many residents enjoy the shops, restaurants and entertainment of Rahway's robust Art's District as well as the biking and hiking trails accessible just steps from our building's entry! Though rental increases most often correspond with the cost of living, we value our tenants' and may be able to offer additional renewal options to you. We just moved in 3 months ago and River Place has been great so far! Pros are the proximity to the train, friendly neighbors, spacious and renovated apartment layouts, the building is always clean and has a wonderful atmosphere. Only cons are that it has been a bit difficult getting responses for repairs. Parking can be difficult during peak hours on weekends, and sometimes even week nights - so they need to regulate the "residents only" parking areas a bit better. Overall it has been a wonderful experience so far.

We have a dedicated staff that strive to create a friendly and welcoming environment for all residents. Recognition of their efforts is very much appreciated. As a resident that is fairly new to our community, I'm happy to provide some additional information that may help to expedite future repair requests. We do provide a maintenance portal on our website, www.salemmgmt.com. Maintenance requests are responded to within 1 business day. Emergencies are responded to immediately and are prioritized over general maintenance requests. We do our best to complete a request as soon as possible. However, If a part needs to be ordered to complete a repair, a maintenance request could take a couple of days to finalize before it is completed. Our building Superintendent's do their best to update and manage resident's expectations as to completion timelines. Parking is reserved for residents only with resident tags! The Rahway Parking Authority patrols and enforces parking as best they can. Guests of our residents are invited to park in the municipal lot or the parking deck just a block away from our community. The Rahway Parking Authority manages both of these parking areas with pay box options ranging from hourly to daily rates. I have lived in my apartment for 2 1/2 years. All of the staff are amazing and very helpful. I love how clean and neat the buildings are all the time. I have had very few issues while living here and management was quick to take care of the problems when I did. I love the security of the place and the close proximity to the train station and other locations. I appreciate the fact that there is a garage. Even though it costs extra, it's definitely worth it, especially in the winter months.

Don't forget that all residents are eligible to receive a $200 rental credit on all approved tenant referrals upon lease signing. The resident referral program is unlimited and applies to any Salem owned property. Take advantage of the rental credit and refer as many friends and family members as you like. We lived here for over 4.5 years, and moved out a while ago. It started out great, but then the building was sold, and all the good, trustworthy staff left. We had a building manager who broke into apartments to steal things (everyone got a $25 gift card that cost $6 to activate for that). There was the super who refused to believe that the oven wasn't working and was "too busy" to care. The building quickly fell into disrepair. The management didn't prepare enough for hurricane sandy (the place is downhill from the river). Worse, they didn't properly clean up afterwards. The stairwells and hallways have no natural light, and the emergency backup only lasts for an hour. There are no generators. Plus, the doors that are locked for keycard access don't lock anymore once the power is out. The best thing about this place was Little Portugal, but that's gone now, too. I keep seeing reviews of this place that are clearly fake being posted - maybe you guys should put more effort into proper maintenance and less into lying on the internet.
This apartment complex is great! I moved in two years ago and have one more year to go. I move around a lot and it's always nice to find an apartment that you feel comfortable in right away. It's two block from the NJ Transit train that goes directly into Penn Station New York, it also stops at the Newark Airport. Easy to get on the highway too. I always feel safe and know that any packages I have delivered are safe too.
