Contrary to what its name suggests, Lake Lucina doesn’t surround a lake, but the neighborhood is near the Saint Johns River, so fishing and kayaking are common. Lake Lucina is located directly east of Jacksonville University, which adds a bit of a college town feel to the community. The neighborhood has apartments available for rent at various price points, but renters are attracted to the area’s low cost of living. Lake Lucina has casual restaurants, small shops, and grocery stores, but there are several popular shopping hubs near the neighborhood as well like Regency Square Mall, which is only five miles away. Situated only six miles east of Downtown Jacksonville, Lake Lucina’s proximity to the city allows residents to enjoy its amenities within minutes.
