When the Woodlands was created as a master-planned community, the developers wanted to retain as much of the natural, wooded landscape as possible. As a result, this aptly-named community features 135 parks, 210 miles of hiking and bicycling trails, more than 1,800 acres of open green space, and 14 swimming pools. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion provides an open-air concert site, and several lakes and canals -- including the vast Lake Woodlands -- add even more beauty to the community. The Woodlands is home to several golf courses, including the Woodlands Country Club Palmer Course, the Tournament Course at the Woodlands Country Club, and the Club at Carlton Woods: Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.
While apartments in the Woodlands are terrific for commuters -- just 28 miles north of Downtown Houston and directly off I-45 -- the Woodlands is no longer considered the bedroom community it was designed to be.

Very happy with my choice to live at the Retreat at the Woodlands. Clean, safe, close to shopping, and friendly people. The staff is always ready to help with any requests. I'm still in the moving in process, but the whole leasing experience was great! Brianna and Cori were so patient, answering all of my questions, and helped get me into the perfect unit for me. I love living at The Retreat at The Woodlands so much that I’ve lived in 3 different apartments here since 2019. Yes, that’s right, as my needs changed and I needed different living accommodations, I found exactly what I wanted and needed right here! No need to search for or tour any other properties because this is our home! From incredible maintenance service to amazing office staff, beautifully maintained grounds and pet-friendly everything (dog park, treats at the office & lots of love for the furry friends), I plan on staying!

My time as a resident at the Retreat at the Woodlands was lovely - the apartment was nice, the community was safe, and any maintenance requests were dealt with promptly. The issues developed when I moved out after one year. I paid every fee on my account. I wiped everything down, mopped, swept, and vacuumed, leaving the apartment in as good a state as I found it. I had worked as a leasing agent, and made sure the apartment was in the state I would have professionally considered in great condition. To my own detriment, I did not photograph everything, because I assumed they would operate in good faith; everything else had gone well, why wouldn't this? That is a mistake I will NOT be making again. I should have listened to a coworker who had also had a negative move out experience here. After moving out and waiting a few weeks, I tried to get information about my deposit. The staff the Retreat could not tell me, including if any fees had been assessed regarding the condition of the apartment; according to Jeana, the account had been closed and was now in the hands of the main Greystar staff. I ended up in contact with the accounts receivable department. Calling them three times over a week finally got me to a person who told me I had a 500 dollar BALANCE on my account. As you can imagine, I was shocked - I had been moved out almost a full month, and no one had reached out to explain that there was a balance. No phone call, no email, nothing. Not only that, but I wouldn't be getting ANY deposit back, because they judged the fridge, microwave and tub not clean enough. These three items were apparently worth 200 dollars. The accounts receivable staff member I spoke to then called me back and said, "oh, it's only a 300 dollar balance, because of a discrepancy in the ledger". This did not aid in my opinion of the work Greystar does or how they treat the people who move out of their communities. I'd considered moving to another Greystar property - suffice it to say, I'm glad I didn't, and I will never live in another Greystar property. The failure to communicate with me regarding a balance and the deposit was remarkable. In times of inflation, when we are having to pinch every penny, this sort of behavior is simply unacceptable and has soured my opinion on the company.

We moved here at the beginning of September and we are very happy about this place! Very quiet, very nice team working here! Everything is clean and well maintained. Also its very closely to stores and Waterway, Market street, etc.

WOW! What an amazing place to live. The management and staff or extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment was immaculate when we arrived to move in. It truly is a "retreat" with the surrounding forest, resort-style pool, and well-equipped fitness facility. The daily trash pickup does a great job of keeping things clean. The landscaping is beautiful. We are so glad we chose to live here.

2.5 years at The Retreat at The Woodlands and I'm still as happy today as I was the day I moved in. The community is the best community I've lived in, even throughout the pandemic. The staff truly cares about their residents and the property, a rare combination in my experience.

I did a lot of research before selecting our next home. The Retreat at the Woodlands was top of the list. Their caring management team and fantastic maintenance staff were on any issue I needed help with. The apartments are updated, the pool and splash pad are well maintained along with the barbecue grills. Just nicely done! Yeah, you could pay less somewhere...but you will get what you pay for! Regardless what you decide..wish you the best. Just wanted to share my experience and research.

The apartments are very nice and kept well. The staff is amazing and so helpful. So many amenities to enjoy the outdoors. It's a small community which I like. Everyone is so friendly here.

A beautiful facility and the complex is aptly named: The Retreat. It is quiet, the neighbors are friendly, and the birds love this place. The twitter and bird song is especially pleasing. The complex is clean and nicely kept. The Administration Team is great - always helpful and very pleasant. The Maintenance Team has never disappointed and with the ease of a Resident App, it is all in hand. For me, The Retreat has been an overall wonderful living experience.

We moved in 2 years ago today and I am just as happy today as I was the day I moved in -- probably happier. I've gotten to know the staff over the last 2 years and the sense of community they provide is like no other place I've lived. I always feel safe and secure, I often see people out walking long after dark and we all keep an eye out for each other. I still love my floor plan as much as I'd hoped I would, and am looking forward to staying here for a long time to come. Often times "the new wears off" once I settle into a place, but this is the only place I've ever called home!
