Spend some time walking around College Town and you'll quickly realize why this neighborhood has its name -- flags and banners cheering on the Seminoles are everywhere. Funky boutiques and corner coffee shops cater to the students of nearby Florida State University. Bicycles line bike racks outside of delis and bakeries. College Town sits directly south of Florida State University, beginning along West Pensacola Street and extending south to include Lake Elberta.
As you head to the south end of College Town, things begin to spread out and the neighborhoods take on a more suburban look. Toward the north end (especially along St. Augustine Street and West Pensacola Street), things are decidedly more urban -- the buildings are closer together, it's more pedestrian-friendly, and definitely more collegiate. Along Lafayette and Pensacola Streets, there are several fraternity and sorority houses and a smattering of student housing developments.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
