1. Black mold 2. Thousands of Roaches 3. Hundreds of Drain flies 4. Major Flooding 5. Major Sewage breaks 6. Ant bed formed in the living room 7. Went without a toilet or shower for 3 weeks Nice manager though Haha it felt like the plagues of Egypt living here ??
Sooner Court Apartments is great. Management is professional, caring, and nice. Will take time to talk to you and get to know you. Well-lit parking. Very walkable community with nearby grocery, convenience stores, fast-food. Very bikeable, with lots more retail and Wal-Mart and banking nearby. Very, very driveable, with major retail in view across I-35. Plenty of dumpsters. Pool is nice and maintained. Poop bags and receptacles. Maintained landscaping with new plants. I have noticed improvements in several areas under the new management and owner. What I like the most, is you have a patch for your own outdoor plants, and having a Braum’s Fresh Market next door can’t be beat. A 24-hour, brand new OnCue with security and Premium Grade Gas. There are jobs within walking distance. Also, there is a Norman EMBARK bus line and stop, which is free to ride, just across from Braum’s. Directly across I-35 is a huge shopping center; Sam’s, Sooner Mall, PetSmart, Barnes and Noble, lots of restaurants. Lots of medical, dental, and specialty offices nearby, including United Way. I like being able to take a bus directly into OU (on a 30 minute schedule, and walk my dog on the South Oval (with plenty of benches to rest and take pictures) Give Sooner Court Apartments a try. By far, the best apartment I’ve lived in in 20 years in Norman apartment living. My apartment is efficient, modern appliances, double-paned windows. Two updated washer/dryer facilities (debit/credit card operated), with new Coke machine and keypad entry) I have only had routine maintenance issues and they have been quickly addressed. I have found my neighbors and I look out for each other, and say hi to each other.
New management is worse than the previous. This place is a dump. Roaches & bugs everywhere. Overfilled dumpsters never get picked up. Homeless people digging up in the dumpsters Drug transactions in broad day light. Neighbors shooting each other every other day. Run away from this apartment complex.
Horrible management. Roaches infestation. Trash is never picked up. The new management doesn't care to fix anything. Dog poop is everywhere.
I’ve placed several maintenance requests with the new owners and not one has been serviced. There has been slight improvements around the complex with the fixing of the entrance, however even with the amount of issues with the previous ownership, they would at least answer the phone every other time you called and would perform maintenance requests in a quick manner. It’s like pulling teeth trying to get a leaky sink fixed or the unit sprayed for bugs. I had hope
I will start with the good. The inside is surprisingly nice in comparison to the outside and the rent I cheap. I’ve been a tenant for two years now. First, this place is not nonsmoking like they claim. My first set of neighbors were cigarette smokers and the smell would come into my apartment through the vents. My next set of neighbors were weed smokers and the smell also travels into my apartment. I’ve never seen a cop patrol here ever, so that is a lie. Laundry facilities were out of service for almost a year, I’m glad that they are now open again and it only costs two dollars for a wash and a dry. There is trash everywhere and the owners do not care to have someone pick it up. Homeless people dig through the trash cans sometimes in broad daylight. Sometimes there are homeless people sleeping or hanging out in the laundry room. Maintenance is a hit or miss, you complain to get some thing fixed and they almost never show up. The water pressure in the shower is horrible. In the spring time they almost never cut the grass or the bushes and when they do there are clippings everywhere. When I moved in they said they were working on a fitness center and to this day it has never been finished. I’ve only seen the pool filled about two times the whole time I’ve been here, so don’t count on it. Lastly there is dog poop everywhere, they left us papers at our door stating that they would fine for that and it has not been enforced and no one cares to pick up their poop.
If i could give no stars i would. I moved in June of 2019 and moved out May 2020. Within the time i was there the laundry room was broken into (maybe around October) and never fixed. There were 3 managers within the time i went. The office hours are hit and miss, it’s posted certain hours but no guarantee they will be there. I complained about smoking neighbors (the lease states non-smoking) i was told to ask them to smoke outside or by a vent. There were roaches...never could get rid of them. I had to complain 3 times to get my carpets shampooed upon move in, the last time I had to take off work to ensure it was done. The refrigerator was going out close to my move out date, it was not fixed or replaced by the time I left. I had to email multiple times about getting my deposit back. The lease states they have a month to get it back to you. It was over a month before I got my deposit back, I had to go in 3 times for this. Some of the reviews on here are by employees (Shelby and Courtney for sure). I DO NOT recommend. If you do move in i would send emails and take pics of everything. Worst apt experience I’ve ever had.
I have been here for over three years and yes there has been changes in management. I believe the new management is doing a great job and fix any problems in a timely manner. They have always been nice and willing to work with me when ends don’t meet sometimes at the end of the month. I have seen way worse in my time in other complexes. I like it here it is nice and quiet here.
I am a good tenant who pays rent on time. My air conditioner has never worked and its summer in Oklahoma. On top of that without a call or any notice maintenance is allow to come in even if you are not home. You only know they were there because of the mess they leave with no explanation. I asked the owner about these practices and she was not sympathetic did not care at all. I have a lot more to complain about but if I had to do it over again I would pick a place with better customer service and up keep.
