Property Ratings at Prairie Pointe Student Living
I haven’t moved in yet But i stayed there and i loved it a lot of space and nice people and everyone’s so welcoming and Very opener to meeting new people
It’s been okay but people are loud sometimes. I like living here though! It’s close to classes and I can always go to the district with my friends.
Its such a fun and cool atmosphere to be in! Good and friendly staff to help out too. Apartments themselves and very clean and comfortable to live in!
Decent place to live a college student. Every one around here is really nice. They have a good maintenance crew that is great at fixing stuff.
Very good really nice people around me and lots of fun. I’ve done lots of things around the area and have found it really enjoyable definitely would come back.
It has been pretty decent. Maintenance fixes things pretty quickly. My roomates are basically my best friends. Our apartment was pretty neat when we moved in.
Room is great and roommates are good, upstairs neighbors are a little loud but overall, everything is good about Prairie Pointe. I haven't used many of the amenities, but they all seem to be pretty good, I haven't heard anything bad about them.
Very nice community. Living with others provides a built-in social network, making it easier to form friendships and find a support system. Residents often share common interests and experiences, leading to a sense of belonging and camaraderie. This can be especially beneficial for students or young professionals who are new to a city or a school, as it helps them acclimate and find their place. This community often offers a wide range of activities and programs that enhance the overall experience.
My experience here has been very positive. The apartment is pleasant, well-maintained, and in good condition. The community is quiet and well-maintained, and the location is convenient. I consider it a good place for a student and beyond.
This is such a great place to stay for college students starting out. I’ve gotten know so many great people here! However, there is a few quirks including doors not shutting, mold on the ceiling, etc.
so far my resident is good. loud upstairs people but so far so good! a lot to do in the area. truly love the des moines/ ankeny areas. highly recommend
Its been great! Its a little loud sometimes at night though, and the service orders are backed up, but all in all its a great time. Our neighbors are nice, the staff is kind, the apartments are delightful
Nice apartments, but a lot of stuff in it came broken or not cleaned. Weekends can get very loud both in the apartments and in the parking lots.
The roommate selection method is great for people who get anxious with who their living with and the staff are so nice and understanding, amazing neighbors too
Apartment is nice. It could have been cleaner. The bathroom was dirty and had issues with the shower. Staff are nice and the area/location is nice too!
Had a lot of issues with our apartment. Many problems that need to be fixed and apartment was very dirty. Definitely needs to be checked out before sold to someone else.
It’s a great place to live! Close to campus and it’s walking distance. You get to meet a lot of new people. The office handles situations greats and the maintenance is great too.
Upstairs neighbors are pretty loud, few cosmetic issues that could use attention but otherwise its pretty good here! Will definitely be renewing my lease next year!
Apartments are relatively nice, while they have some problems maintenance is pretty good at getting there to fix things. The location is very nice and close to campus and everyone is relatively nice while some are loud and obnoxious.
Apartment cleanliness was very poor when moved in. Stains in carpets, LEDs left up from previous tenants, and mice droppings in closet. Dryer doesn’t work, dishwasher was broken, and so was the garbage disposal.
Prairie Point apartments are in such an amazing and safe location. Ankeny is so beautiful and the apartments are really nice, especially for being leased to college students. The maintenance team is a little slow.
Terrible. Room in horrible condition, barely even livable for a week. Kitchen sink doesn’t drain, the disposal didn’t work, and the dishwasher didn’t work, so we couldn’t do dishes for a week and had to rely on paper products. The dryer didn’t work, so we couldn’t wash any clothes. All the rooms had mouse poop everywhere. We had to scrub the whole place, ceiling included as there were strains dripping down the walls. The list could go on and on, as I submitted 18 maintenance requests and they wouldn’t let me submit anymore. Most people don’t receive their deposit back, but my question is… where is this money going? Because it’s certainly not going back into the rooms. Don’t fall for the “Sign up bonus and get a $200 gift card.” That money has yet to be seen. Management has been absolutely no help and will never have a conversation with my roommates and I to fix all these problems.
It’s been meh. Put in a request for my shower head that’s broken almost a week ago and it’s still not fixed. Roommate put one in for our kitchen sink that leaks and that’s still not fixed. Also the stovetop burners don’t hold their position very well. They keep falling down into it. Plus the people below me have a non stop barking dog which is very annoying when trying to do homework. And lastly, the outlets along the sink don’t work
It's nice, just a little scuff here and there. Carpet by door is messy. Kitchen area and living room are decent. Really love the seperated food area. Also love the two fridges.
I’ve only been here a few days but I’ve had so much fun! Living away from home for the first time has been way easier than I expected and everyone I’ve met so far is super nice.
I really enjoy living here. The neighborhood can get a little loud at night, and matinence isn’t upkept, but other than that, it’s a perfect location right in the middle of everything. Grocery is not far from here, there are plenty of job opportunities, and my roommates are the best people ever. If I wanted to, I could walk from my apartment to class, since it’s also right next to DMACC! I like that there’s no need to drive so I can save on gas.
The apartment looks good. Some issues, but maintenance came to inspect. I think the price is a little high especially for students that have to pay for the living space themselves. The office people are nice and welcoming. Overall seems like a good place for students to live.
Moving in was quick and easy. My first night in the apartment was great! Overall very nice and clean place. It was pretty dusty when I first got there and some minor damages but all very fixable. We put some maintenance request in that we’re hoping will get fixed soon.
The first couple of days at prairie pointe have gone really well. Move in was quick and easy. The staff seems really nice. My AC didn’t work and they quickly gave us window AC
Awesome community. Get along great with neighbors. Randomly placed roommate ended up being now one of my close friends! Definitely have enjoyed my time here
It was okay, I moved out half way through. Heard you don’t get deposit back even when you did all the cleaning list so that’s not cool. Good area though.
I really like it here, its so homey and I love how I can pick my roommates on the room sync app/website. I appreciate the amenities here and everything that comes with the apartment.
It can be noisy at times. It’s close to everything and really close to Dmacc. It’s a good and affordable place to live for college students.
Still believe this is a good starting place for kids just getting out on their own. There is always room for improvements with a place that is labeled as student living.
Kinda loud, but overall nice apartments with washer and dryer in the unit, furniture is okay, still don’t know if I’m getting my deposit back tho
good place to live. i’ve been able to meet a lot of new people and make new friends. staff is very friendly and helpful when you have any questions
Excellent community to stay.A strong community fosters a sense of belonging and offers valuable support. It provides opportunities for connection, collaboration, and shared experiences, enriching the lives of individuals and strengthening the overall fabric of a society. Community members offer mutual support, creating a network where individuals can share experiences.
Love living here! Everyone is so nice! The staff is so caring and can handle any issue that I have going on. They also care that we are living safely and soundly!
I love it here! Great community with fun events. Have never had any issues with staff or others living here. I have had maintenance problems that always got resolved by the next day.

Thank you for this great review! We are so glad that you are loving where you live and that our staff have been able to assist you in a prompt manner!
other people make living here hard (loud parties, loud people on the side/above you), but its not bad. Not to expensive, just sometimes take a while to fix things or say they are fixed and change nothing.
If I was a college student and a partier, it would be great but I work and have school for my whole day and can’t sleep at night because it’s always loud and people are screaming.
Can be a little noisy at times, and can be dirty as well. Overall it is a good place to live if you are in college. It walking distance from the school.
I love being able to come and feel like I’m at home. Having my own space with my own room and bathroom, but also being able to go out in the living room to spend time with my roommates. I also love being able to cook in my own kitchen and be able to have our own washer and dryer.
Love living here! I put in a maintenance request yesterday, and they came the next day. In addition, the staff is extremely friendly, and they hold events to bring the community together.
Great place to live! They always are doing some type of activity! They also do so many fun give aways!! Apartments are nice we love our 3 bedroom townhouse!
I have enjoyed living here. The amenities are nice. The parking lot has plenty of places to park and the trash compactor is very nice. If anything ever breaks they are quick to fix it.
I have been living here for a little over 6 months and I will say for a dmacc student it is one of the best choices for housing. Rent is higher than some other options but you get what you pay for, a great apartment and a even better experience.
Pretty solid few things that could be fixed but pretty good. Enjoy the full kitchen, living room, laundry room, like the own bedrooms and bathrooms. Have minor problems here and there but nothing to major.
I really enjoy living here. I have great lighting and it’s easy to get back and forth from campus to home by walking since I don’t have a car right now.
Love living here. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Always looking to help out with anything we need. I also have met some of my best friends here
