the day I moved in the place was filthy, I had to pay cleaners to come help me clean the place up before I moved all my stuff in, I was on a time crunch. They will sometimes mow the lawns before 8am Thin walls/ceiling - can hear the people upstairs go to the bathroom Roaches everywhere - had to pay with my own money to treat the problem because they never fixed/resolved it. I was reporting issues every few weeks and yet I’d still come home and see roaches everywhere until I handled the issue myself. Don’t follow their own contract - was told I’d be on the second floor with carpet but got first floor with vynal flooring tenants don’t pick up after their dogs, no parking permits required so anyone can park in the lot. If they do any kind of work in your apartment they don’t clean up afterwards- I had dry wall all over my bedroom after they fixed a leak, couldn’t sleep in the room that night because of the drywall dust and laundry that had to be done because of them. There was a leak from upstairs and it took them a couple days to actually come and look at it and then another couple days for them to come and fix it. Not worth the money.
Because I moved in during covid, I did not tour my unit before moving in. The apartment I lived in for a year faced 1314 and the noise level from ongoing traffic was awful the entire time. Since there is a stop light right by Porterwood, passing ambulances and police cars always engage their sirens when going by. The apartment was roach infested upon move in and no matter how clean I kept it or how much roach bait I put out, I always had roaches. The leasing office NEVER answers the phone and has no voicemail available. Also upon move out, they are trying to charge me over $400 to replace the carpet because I had a cat. I have lived in 5 different apartments with that cat and have never been charged for damages from him before. With all the available apartment options, I highly recommend renting somewhere else.
It’s a quiet place! Management is wonderful. Yasmin is a sweetheart and always helps when she can. Maintenance comes in a timely manner, sometimes has to come out a couple times for bigger issues. Neighbors for a majority are nice! Some are rude, but you get that anywhere. There is a stray cat problem. They scratch your cars and it’s not fun to walk your dogs around them. Some neighbors feed them and sneakily take care of them. The apartments are really nice and I love it here though.
It is so nice and and quiet here. The building is well insulated and comfy in very cold weather.
My overall experience here in Porter wood Apartments is Satisfactory..

This place charges for valet trash and in 9 months have skipped service 8 times. I feel I should save $30 monthly and take care of my own trash. Trash should be picked up every day and they don't provide service on weekends or holidays.
I have lived here currently for 2.5 years, my lease is to be renewed in October of 2018. I have had quite a few problems, as well have seen management changes. Since the changes parking is no longer enforced. Roaches have been an ongoing problem, which has been a pre-existing problem before I moved in. When I bring this problem to the offices attention, Bianca the front desk lady, states that I have to request the service which I automatically pay for, for a pre-existing problem at that. Management has also taken it upon themselves to enter my unit without proper notifications, and I was able to have a firm conversation with Brent, the manager, about him breaking the law. I have also had Bianca do the same, and when I confronted her about the same issue she clearly states, "we dont do that." She is a liar, and gets a very nasty attitude when confronted about this manner, which is very unprofessional. Something BH management "prides" themselves in. Hopefully the right people will see this and this issue will be resolved, until then I will keep this review active. P.B.A. if you live here get cameras for your apartment, keep the wrong doers at bay.
I love the office staff!!! They are so attentive and always so nice. The maintanence crew always gets things done within a 24 hour period or less! I can see why they are almost full the management and maintanence is always up to date and it's a plus having everything like mall and stores so close .
These apartments are not great but not bad either. After living here for a few months my apartment has been getting a little mold in the bathroom. Particularly in the shower/toilet part. I have a hard time trying to clean it but I can't think of how gross it is. Maybe it's because of how old the apartment is but I would think the apartments would find a way to prevent this. The kitchen has no pantry so all you have are cabinets. The cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom are all old and need updating. Even our fridge and stove were old but they work ok. I also don't like the fact that the leaf blowers that come out ever now and then blow the leaves in your patio if your on the bottom floor. What I do like about these apartments are that they include washer and dryer. They are a good proximity to many fast food places and restaurants as well as gas station. It's also very quiet around here. Overall I feel like you pay too much for what you get living here.
I have been a resident at Porterwood for 2 years. It is a very quiet and well maintained community. The office ladies answer any questions I have and are very helpful. When I moved into my apartment it was freshly painted and very clean.
These apartments are older and smaller than most but they are maintained well. Maintainence is handled in a reasonable amount of time and in general my stay here has been good.

Awesome. The grounds are beautifully manicured and very well lit for safety. The pool area is well maintained. The apartment was clean and freshly painted when I moved in and it is insect free. Close to all popular shopping and restaurants. Out of the big city but close enough to commute. Also a fabulous playground for the children. Maintenance is very prompt and there within the hour if you have any problems. All appliances furnished including washer and dryer, dishwasher and garbage disposal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And with all these amenities the rent is still very affordable.
Apartment units have their own washers and dryers, there is a decent pool, and pets are allowed. There is also a storage closet on the patio.
