Property Ratings at Pike Run Village
Pike Run Village is one of the worst places I have ever lived. At the time, it seemed perfect - solid price for two bedrooms in a unit with a balcony. Immediately after moving in, the issues started: it was not clean, there was hair everywhere, appliances not maintained, it smelled overwhelmingly like mothballs that took weeks to clear out, the BUGS, and the worst part of all was that we could hear the downstairs neighbors. Yes...from upstairs I could hear them walking, yelling, screaming, crying, and slamming doors usually between 11 pm - 2 am almost every night. Numerous complaints were logged and Management sent letters to tenants but nothing helped and it was truly awful the entire lease. When they finally moved out and I had peace for maybe 1 month until the next people moved in. Also!!! I would suggest buying a dashcam for your car because the parents do not seem to be concerned about their kids' safety at all. The amount of footage I have of children just RUNNING into the street or flying around corners on bikes as if cars do not exist. They play in the middle of parking lots, hitting cars with balls...it’s unbelievable. I could not be happier that I moved out. Save yourself the misery and emotional trauma this place will cause. The price has gone up per unit as well and it is far too overpriced for what you are getting.
I would not recommend moving here. There are large numbers of families with many rowdy children living in the apartments, and over occupancy of rooms with excessive people in them. I have experienced daily banging, jumping, drums, and loud noises. Management does not help or seem to care. This is combined with excessive rent and a sewer bill of several hundred per month. Be warned.

The grounds are nicely maintained but some tenants throw trash like their mail and candy wrappers. The unit (I have) is small for a one bedroom. There is not enough closet space and only 3 windows in the entire unit. The toilet is usually backed up and the sink has issues. They have repaired it over 5 times but cannot seem to fix it completely. Cats are allowed for a monthly fee BUT I've seen plenty of dogs. Now comes the main issue. The apartments at Pike Run are set up that the 2 bedrooms are upstairs and the one bedroom is on the first floor. Therefore, the couples/single parents are UPSTAIRS while the single folks are downstairs. The parents do not discipline their children. Not only do some of them let their kids run and jump in the unit KNOWING that there is someone living downstairs. It is inconsiderate and disrespectful especially at 12:40AM! In addition, kids play outside near the cars risking vandalism as they throw balls. Some children ran in front of my car while I was driving for fun by the new CVS when many kids were playing WITHOUT adult supervision. Some Pike Run parents are not up for the job of parenting. The first floor unit can hear almost everything from the second floor unit. It feels like you and your neighbor are living together. The architects who designed these units did so to maximize space for PROFIT. But children are living in units with two sets of many stairs and single folks are dealing with their constant noise. It is that BAD. The management office sends letters and the tenants ignore them. Living here with constant noise is not worth it. Forget about talking to your neighbor, they will likely admit they don't know how to discipline their kid. Your neighbor's unruly kid is now YOUR problem. Welcome to Pike Run and run while you still can.

Pros: Gym (machines are broken often) Pool (jacuzzi broken currently) landscaping nice plenty of parking maintenance comes quickly Cons: Staff does not escort you to unit (golf carts available) There are DOGS when they clearly are NOT allowed Thin walls, noise issue bugs (exterminator available) trash everywhere (cleaning staff available) kids undisciplined (despite new rules) traffic issues nearby rent high for value units small carpet old and poor condition
I have called and gotten exterminators out here to my apartment but still no relief. We have wasps on the balcony and millipedes everywhere inside coming through the vents. It is disgusting. I cant sit on my balcony because of the wasps and from the splinters you get in your feet and in afraid for myself or my infant to sleep at night because of the millipedes everywhere!
I've moved away from the area and complex and it's such a relief! This apartment was 12 miles from work and now I live 25 miles Northwest and it takes me the same amount of time! This area is underserved and it's was never more apparent than hurricane Sandy! Luckily we didn't get hit but we did loose power for a week. This area tends to flood and if you have to travel north up 206 to work (which everyone usually does), I hope you have to ability to telecommute or it will take you 2 hrs to get to work. They never even finished the 206 bypass before building yet more units across the way. So now you'll have even more traffic and less amenities per person than they already do. The best bet is just to go to Nassau Park in Princeton. It's a pain to have to drive so far for everything in traffic to boot but at least it's all in one place. The schools are excellent only to those who are already academically inclined as they push the kids very hard. If your child has special needs then prepare to be met in firing squad fashion about putting your child on medication! The kids are very cruel. The schools are very well equipped and although it was a very damaging environment, the opportunity to do things unavailable elsewhere was there. Village units are way over priced in my opinion. It's like a glorified brick garden apartment with standard fixtures. Not much luxury about them and the price should reflect that. The washers didn't even fit more than 4 towels at at time. I had to utilize the laundromat many times when I lived here just too keep up. Most of the people in the complex are nice, when you do see them. It's usually like a ghost town. If you don't mind living the zombie life, then this place is for you!
This apartment comes with lots of amenities i.e. washer & dryer in apartment; swimming pool; gym; basketball court etc. They are current with any problems we have and we have a lot of good, friendly neighbors. We have a patio facing a very large yard facing very beautiful trees. We have been here 13 years and that speaks for itself.
A splendid place to come back to after a hectic day at work. The apartment complex, surrounded with lush greenery, manicured gardens, a resort style pool and well-maintained walkways makes you . But just as you thought, you may miss out on city fun; a short drive away are bustling coffee shops, supermarkets, gourmet cafes, a movie theatre and a plethora of fast food joints. The staff is cordial and makes you feel at home - a definite advantage. And did I mention, just the other day during an evening walk within the complex my one and half year old got excited spotting her first deer ever, rushing back to its hideout! Ah the good life.
My wife moved into this one bedroom apartment 13 years ago. We are currently in a one bedroom apartment and are both disabled so we survive on our fixed incomes from SS. She is spoiled as our apartment comes with a washing machine and dryer along with a dishwasher which makes it very nice and convenient. However our apartment does not really accommodates my wife's wheelchair. We have been searching for a 2 bedroom apartment with the same amenities. We have outgrown this small apartment and we pray we can find a comparable 2 bedroom one. Thank you
This is nice apartment for those of you who have children and want to be in an awesome school district because you can't afford private school. It has play grounds, it has a amenities such as access to a pool, basketball court, tennis courts, weight and exercise room. Walking trails by a lake. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Beautiful landscape view. Ten minutes from the movies ,12 min from Princeton University night life and upscale restaurants, and 15 min from Quakerbridge Mall. It is 7 min from fast foods and Shop Rite. Very convenient and great neighborhood. You do not have to worry about crime. :) Close to Princeton Junction train to NYC. Upscale neighborhood surrounding it. Basically all professionals live in this area. Good and well mannered citizens live in this area.
Animal and kid friendly community, 1 to 3 bedrooms, pool and tennis court, park. Spacious private living area. Ample parking. New appliances. Awesome area located near Princeton nj. Great school district.
This is a quiet community with beautiful landscaping. Trails to walk and a pool if you want to relax on a warm summer day. I rarely have to call maintenance, but when I do they respond in a timely manner. There are a lot of deer in this area, so you will have to drive carefully. Also, I have practically become an entomologist since I moved here, I swear I have seen every species of bug there is. Other than that it's a great place to live.
