It's the birthplace of the United States. It's a World Heritage City, the first in the country. It's Philadelphia's Old City, and it isn't just for tourists. This terrific neighborhood still features cobblestone streets, and the landmarks are amazing: Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Penn's Landing, the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, and the Betsy Ross House. Elfreth's Alley is the oldest residential street in the nation, dating back to 1702. The museums are also impressive: the Museum of the American Revolution, the National Museum of American Jewish History, the Benjamin Franklin Museum, and the Independence Seaport Museum.
But while you'll have endless destinations to take out-of-town visitors, living in Old City provides a wealth of charm, walkable streets, terrific shops and restaurants, and an outstanding farmer's market. The neighborhood is bicycle-friendly, and bicycle rentals are available at Indego stations.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Penn's View
I moved two months ago, and I must say I’m feeling stressed and anxious about ongoing issues. While I understand that some problems are expected in any apartment, having to constantly call maintenance for issues that should be addressed is not what I’m paying for. I’ve missed work because maintenance often fails to show up on the promised day, requiring repeated follow-ups. The kitchen doors have been falling apart, and despite our requests, maintenance did not respond, so my husband had to repair them. We’ve had a serious mouse infestation, and although we waited a week for a response, the exterminator’s follow-up visit never happened as promised. There have also been issues with the laundry machines—leaking, and a broken dryer took a week to fix. The washing machine is still not repaired, despite the maintenance person promising to come today and not showing up. Additionally, there was a major leak in the bathroom, causing water to fall directly into the sink and toilet as if it were raining inside. I called the office but received no response until my husband called again. Maintenance arrived five hours later and only said they would return the next day, which did not happen. I’m very disappointed with the living conditions here. It’s frustrating and costly, especially when we had to eat out for all our meals due to kitchen issues. I rarely express dissatisfaction, but this experience has been extremely disappointing.
