Downtown Huntsville encompasses the triangle formed by Interstate 45, State Route 19, and U.S. Highway 190 in the center of Huntsville. It’s here that you’ll find the bulk of the city’s culinary and retail offerings, as well as a diverse mix of rentals including charming and low-lying apartment complexes and single-family homes. Downtown Huntsville is also where you’ll find the Sam Houston Memorial Museum, located on the site of the Houston’s 15-acre homestead and home to several historic buildings. Highway 190 houses a number of taquerias, boutiques, and more. Seeing as Huntsville and the downtown area itself border the Sam Houston National Forest, this is a perfect spot for outdoor lovers looking for a rental near the convenience of the city.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Paper Moon Apartments
Dryers don’t dry, you typically got to run your items through maybe 2-3 times or if you’re really unlucky it just WON’T even after 5. Basically sinking money into the things for nothing, complained once about it but never got a reply back.
The price isn't good for the lack of space in the apartment or for the way parking is. When the weather gets colder, roaches move in, and they didnt do pest control in the year I was there. Yes, it's close to campus, but the front door is slanted so bugs can easily crawl in, the closet doors don't shut, there's dog poop EVERYWHERE and you can hear everything from your neighbors wall.
I leased a studio apartment that I lived in for 2 years, and boy the experience I had. At first, the place was alright, the people at the leasing office looked and sounded nice, the place was decent looking for the price I was paying, and it was my first apartment. It was one of the cheaper and closer [to school] options out there, so I was optimistically like, "Why not!?" I somewhat enjoyed my time there, I had a warm and safe space while I went to SHSU, and I learned to do so many things on my own such as changing the AC filter, for example. However, it had its cons as well. Fleas. I had a flea problem (I did not have pets, and I was very particular with leaving my shoes by the door); they solved it by spraying the place down. Millipedes (and tons of them). There seemed to be a millipede problem every summer for the past 2 summers I lived here. For some reason they were able to get in; I had to spray any openings every other week just to not have so many coming in! Messed up oven. As someone who bakes, I use the oven frequently, and it was just frustrating! The oven was a very old model which I had to adapt my baking to not burn the heck out of my food, for example, if my baking requires 20 mins, I had to adjust it to 15 mins or less. Tub, so here's the thing, THEY PAINT OVER THE TUB TO MAKE IT LOOK "CLEAN!" I had my suspicions, but it wasn't until I tried having a bath that one time that little paint flakes floated on the surface of the water. Lame maintenance. I had a leaky ceiling problem more than twice and maintenance weren't able to find the problem to fix it. The people upstairs had a broken toilet problem which affected my apt. as well so I went ahead and called them. They checked it out and said they couldn't find the source of the leak. A week later, it happened again, so I called them and the same thing happened- they couldn't find the leak. The leaking happened two more times, but I just gave up trying to get help- so whoever gets my apt., good luck! Finally, and because I did not know this, be warned that they charge you for moving out! $75 fee for "Admin move out," WHAT! They also charged me for "dirty oven knobs" because the oven, who tries to bring hellfire every time I baked, was too hot that it roasted the oven knobs. Regardless, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, so if you can spare a few hundred bucks a month, great, do not lease here, or do. Nevertheless, you will eventually learn to love it..maybe.
For the price and location it's pretty good. I asked about the pest problems and they come 2x a month you just have to call the office. I've never had issues with bugs
I live in these apts and the location is pretty nice. New management has cleaned up the place and good communication if there's any issues. Maintenence is quick and the price is good so it works for me
Property Manager at Paper Moon Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your review. We try to exceed expectations on customer service! Have a great day!
Worst customer service. Way outdated property & roaches live there 24/7. Don't bother placing maintenance calls. property managers have an attitude at all times. Bottom floor floods. & when it's time to move out, they bill you charges amounting to your deposit, plus more.

Finally have a manager that can actually properly do the paperwork, but she needs an assistant. She needs to be able to verify for herself just where the drug dealers, the tenants that use the grounds for a dumpster and those that violate the lease by not monitoring their children live. Once these things are taken care of, perhaps maintenance can concentrate on actually getting caught up on maintenance instead of being forced to act as onsite garbage man.
