The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Palisades of Asheville
1 Star – 5 Years of Frustration, Neglect, and Ongoing Headaches I lived in this complex for five years, and it was a nightmare. The worst issue was when my apartment flooded so badly that the fire department had to use inflatable equipment to drain water out the window. The flooding caused a giant hole in the ceiling, exposing the unit above. Management still expected us to stay there. I refused and demanded temporary housing. They agreed but when we arrived at the hotel late at night, they hadn't approved the stay. We were left homeless, waiting hours for approval. The damage was extensive, and we were moved into a unit that hadn’t even been turned over yet because it was the only option. When my lease ended, I chose not to renew. I emailed, signed the form, and returned my keys. However, after I moved out, they told me they needed my roommate’s signature on a separate document—another surprise requirement. After moving out, I had a package delivered. The office claimed they contacted the new tenant, but I found the unit vacant and retrieved my package from the side room, with the staff looking embarrassed. Three years later, I found a $2,200 charge on my credit report. They claimed I didn’t give notice and that the apartment had “damages.” I had videos showing the apartment was clean and empty. They later admitted this was just their term for no notice. This has been nothing but mismanagement, misinformation, and stress. I say with confidence: Avoid this place.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience was not what you hoped for, and we appreciate the opportunity to respond and clarify several key points. While we understand that moving and maintenance issues can be stressful, especially in emergency situations, we want to emphasize that our team did take steps to address the flooding incident as quickly and thoroughly as possible — including arranging alternative accommodations, though there was admittedly a brief delay in hotel check-in that evening. We regret any inconvenience that caused. We also want to clarify the final status of your tenancy. Our records show that you were evicted due to non-payment of rent, not due to lease expiration or a voluntary move-out. We have full documentation supporting this, including legal filings and a court judgment, which is why the outstanding balance was ultimately reported to the credit bureau. Regarding the notice and damage charges: in cases where a lease is not properly terminated according to its terms — including all required signatures — the account is closed as a "no notice" move-out, which is standard practice across the industry. Any charges assessed at that time would have been based on the final inspection and lease agreement terms. We understand that not all experiences are perfect, but we do our best to work with residents fairly and within the terms of the lease. We’re always happy to review documentation and answer any questions directly.
We lived in this community from 2020 - 2022. We never had any issues that went unintended and during the height of Covid - Jennifer went above and beyond to help us during lease renewal time and my husband's work had slowed drastically. We were never greeted with malice when we had any concerns, always with suggestions on how they could help. It was a pleasure living at Palisades!
Do your research, reports of shots fired and child abduction.Staff is horrible and maintenance doesn't fix anything

Thanks for the excellent staff of Palisades apartments and the nice apartment community which I enjoy . My apartment offers the features and quality I would want in an apartment.
Walked in this past Monday and was greeted by the friendliest, most welcoming person. Although they did not have a unit to be shown due to being fully booked they were prepared with floor plans and pictures in hand. Due to the service and preparedness we chose to apply that day. We look forward to our move in August!
My friend recently moved in here and I have been very impressed with the service and assistance she has gotten from day one. They really made her move easy and as stress free as possible after having to deal with a horrible separation. Its affordable, modern and clean.
We moved in when the community first opened. We were assured that every apartment would have one parking space and that trains passed infrequently, usually in the middle of the afternoon. Do not believe the rental agents!! I am handicapped and have requested a marked space near the entrance to my apartment. After a very long wait, one sign was added next to the existing HC space - a long walk still. There are over six families in need of a handicapped parking space, and the two existing spaces are always filled. The trains carrying coal to Duke Energy's coal-fired plant run frequently, some times up to six or seven times per day, including the middle of the night. We are between two whistle stops, which means four blasts of the train whistle at each stop. Some residents have moved out because their children are being negatively affected by this noise pollution and la k of sleep. Yes, the apartments are nice inside, but you can hear your neighbors' shower running, coughing, loud parties, etc. Don't waste your money on this place. And if you have a car, be prepared to park several buildings away from your home after searching fruitlessly for a spot close to home.

We thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that the sounds from surrounding local transportation bothers you but unfortunately that is beyond our control. The other sounds that your are hearing are consider incidental realties of apartment living and we do address the noise issues that are above and beyond the day to day living activities expected to take place within the apartment home or community. We also apologize about the inconvenience you have experienced with parking being it is not assigned, considered to be a first come basis and being all licensed drives are allowed to have a vehicle.
I have been renting here too long. In the beginning, everything was fine. There were not a lot of residents on the property, in particular, our building. When our neighbors directly above us moved in, that is when all the problems started. I noticed one day a mysterious leak in the master bedroom closet, which is located in the bathroom. There was some moisture and water marks just on the walls of the closet. I came home one day to soak and wet clothes. I called the leasing office, and they sent someone right away. The leak was thought to be coming from the upstairs neighbors bathroom. Maintenance addressed the issue and for about 2 weeks, no more leaks. After a brief vacation, I came home to a closet full of soaking wet clothes and this time you could see where water dripped from the clothes and settled on my plastic storage containers. Once again, the problem was addressed and I was told at that time, that there had been the same complaint from other residents. Shortly after the people who had moved in above us got settled in, we would hear ridiculous amounts of noise. At first, we let it go because they have a dog, and we both understood that a dog would be a dog and that you cannot keep it from playing. We began to hear them arguing and later confirmed that the couple were physically fighting. We have had to call the police and the leasing office several times. We have even had some face to face confrontations who acknowledged that they are fighting most of the time and that they know that their dog can get rowdy. After a really bad fight and just being completely fed up, my roommate and I went to the leasing office and spoke with the property manager. After going over all of our complaints, we were reassured that our concerns would be addressed and we would hear back in a couple of days. It was also stated that the complaints that we had reported previously were on file but did not make it to the property manager's desk, along with other various complaints that had been shared from other residents in other buildings. To this very day, we have not heard back from the leasing office on the issue. I can assume that there was never conversation between the leasing office and our neighbors or follow up with the local police department because the same issues keep happening.I fully understand that the apartment leasing office cannot legally do anything about the domestic violence that occurs, but they can address noise violations stated in our lease.
Very nice, quiet and neat complex. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I am happy they allow the school buses in to pick up my kids. This is a plus because other properties I visited said the kids had to go to the street. I really love this community for me, my kids and the dog. My only complaint is my bathtub is smaller than what I'm use too.????

Thank you so much! We really love having you apart of the Palisades family as well and are very happy that you chose to call Palisades home.
I was one of the first people to move into these apartments. The apartments are "basic" with a no frills lease at hand. The apartments are nice on the inside with a tiled dinning room and kitchen, with black appliances and dark wooden cabinets. The carpet seems to be of higher quality, and the rooms are very spacious. The one downfall is the thin walls; this has always been an issue with any apartment I have lived in, so this is no different than any other. The only reason this does not get more stars, is because this is a typical apartment complex, with no over the top frills that make it "excellent". The staff in the front office are awesome, and the relationship I have formed with them is great.
