The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Pacific View Apartment Homes
We loved living here for three years, had zero complaints. Until it was time to move out. They will keep your full deposit, even if you did what we did, which was hire professional cleaners, and get the carpets cleaned!!! We even got the carpets cleaned once a year while living there. And they will tell you that “ordinary wear and tear” is acceptable, but it’s not…..and they will keep your deposit. Greedy
Property Manager at Pacific View Apartment Homes, Responded To This Review
We are sorry to hear that your experience did not live up to the standards we pride ourselves on. Our goal is to provide an exceptional living experience for all of our residents, and we are disappointed to hear we fell short of your expectations. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and help us improve. Best, The Pacific View Team
First off I will say these are beautiful apartments, well maintained, gorgeous pools, great amenities, but this review is mostly for the manager, Steven. My mother lives at these apartments and I am so impressed with how much he has gone above and beyond for her regarding communication, accommodations, and just a general willingness to help and listen. He is a kind and patient person who genuinely cares about the residents of Pacific View. I can't say enough good things about these apartments and about Steven. Thank you!!!
The property is filthy. No one cleans up after their pets. The walls are paper thin and the neighbors are obnoxiously loud. Neighbors are constantly partying and playing loud music constantly and the management does nothing. The apartment was filthy when I moved in. This place has been awful. Do not rent here if you’re a working professional and want somewhere nice to come home to. This place is noisy and disgusting. It is like living in disgusting dorms.
Stay away from these apartments, Pacific View apartments are overpriced, noisy everyday, the landscaping guys are there everyday using the most annoying blowing machine everyday early in the morning. Not a quiet place at all. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone
Current resident. Ive lived here for a little over a year. I will be moving out as soon as I find a new place. WARNING!!! THERE IS NO PARKING!!! They will lie to your face and tell you that parking is plentiful but it is an outright lie. Make sure you visit on a weekend and you will see this. Most homes come with either a garage or a carport. Your lease states that GARAGE MUST BE USED TO PARK CAR, however, I would estimate that 60% of the garages are completely filled with peoples belongings and therefore no car can fit. They do a "garage inspection" a couple times a year, and absolutely nothing changes. I was told by a manager that it is not an evictable offense so they just do nothing about it. They told me to park in the front of the building (outside the gates), when I objected, their response was that the gates really dont do anything to protect and they are a false sense of security. Secondly, its seems that everybody here smokes weed. Thats fine in your own apartment, but its illegal in CA to smoke outside in a public space. Since the stoner moved in below me, he smokes 2-3 times a day. I've reported it many times and they have done nothing about it. I've lived in several Irvine Co apartments, and can say this place is run like a joke. STAY AWAY, you have been warned!
I looked at this property among others in January 2017. I thought it looked great and wanted to know more. I called and talked with the staff. They were having a special in February and I decided to fill out an application for the property which cost $45 bucks, as well as a $200 deposit to reserve an apartment. I was approved and had two other people apply with me for a 3 bedroom. Once we were all approved to live at the property based on income and credit, we were given a rental rate and a deposit amount if we wanted to sign a lease. Well, after a couple of days of thinking about their price, we decided not to sign a lease and live here after all. So I lost $245 bucks, no big deal. I never signed a lease. The surprise comes when one month later Pacific View called me and said there was an overdue balance on my "account." I asked what for, and they told me that the two people I had applied with (separate applications!) never paid their $45 application fees, and I was obligated to pay it. I was shocked and asked how in the world I was responsible for their application fees. They tried to tell me that we were jointly responsible. I never signed anything to that effect!! All I did was apply for the property! I paid the $200 on my own as well! The rep that I was talking to on the phone understood and told me that I didn't have anything to worry about, but that it was a standard call he had to make. He understood that it shouldn't be my responsibility and that I never agreed to that, never signed any documents agreeing to such. Well another surprise now in April; I get a call from a collections agency! I have a bill for $90 from Pacific View, that they have sent over for non-payment. Now this is going to affect my credit, as if I am delinquent on a bill in my name! I am so over this place, I can't believe the inconsistency and greed! I didn't mention that throughout the process of applying and talking about the property, the leasing managers and reps did come across very money-hungry...but I decided I could get past that because the place was really pretty. Just a forewarning for those out there even just INTERESTED in Pacific View. Don't give them any money unless you're sold. Don't even apply unless you are for sure going to live here. And even then, beware you probably won't get your deposit back when you move out, and they may be charging you out the wazoo the duration of your stay.
Iv lived here for 3 years now. I ended up with a very nice third story, 1 bedroom, under low income with an ocean view. I absolutely love it here. Not only do I pay very low rent but I also get access to two pools, a gym, a cabana, grills etc. They don't upgrade the low income places like they have done to the surrounding normal ones. So things are kind of outdated a little, but still cute. The maintenance crew is great, just received a new dish washer. The walls can be thin at times, but most places are like that. For apartment living they make it easy and I would recommend living here over any other location for apartments in Carlsbad.
I live in the most amazing place... Carlsbad, CA and what makes it even more special is the space I live in. I live across the street from an active lagoon (paddle boarding, kayaking jet skiing). MY daily sunsets are gorgeous. We have two lagoon style pools, barbecue grills and a fitness room. The leasing staff is friendly and the Maintenance crew is fantastic. My apartment is comfortable and always a joy to return to!
Nice complex managed by Irvine Company. Great location for I-5 freeway access and the complex is close to the Carlsbad industrial business complex located along Palomar Airport Rd. The Good: Well maintained landscaping with plenty of doggy bag stations throughout the complex, units are being remodeled (my unit has new countertops in bath/kitchen and new appliances). Clean pools, newer leasing office, clean gym with lots of equipment. Views of the ocean in the distance. Maintenance crew is very responsive. Had a faucet leak in the master bath Sunday morning. Completed an online repair request and maintenance came to my unit and replaced the broken part the same afternoon. The Bad: One of the more expensive complex's in the area. No shopping centers (ie supermarkets) within walking distance.
Nice Irvine Company complex in great location close to I-5 freeway access and close to the Carlsbad office park complex located off Palomar Airport Rd. The good: Nicely maintained complex, new exterior paint, consistently maintained landscaping, clean pools, new gym equipment, new leasing office, plenty of parking and maintenance crew is incredibly responsive. Had a shower handle leak Sunday morning, submitted a online maintenance request, and maintenance came and replaced the faucet the same afternoon. The bad: One of the more expensive apartment complex's in the area. No shopping centers (ie supermarkets) within walking distance.
While these apartments LOOK beautiful, once you move, expect problems from day one. My biggest complaint is the ants!! The buildings are absolutely infested with them, and the complex does nothing to resolve the issue.. All my neighbors complain too. Pay way too much money to have an ant infestation. And I'm not talking seeing a couple here and there, I mean waking up in the morning to finding entire colonies crawling into your (CLEAN/SPOTLESS) kitchen. The only nice part of this community are the view, the pool (although sometimes it's filthy and NOT heated), the gym and some friendly neighbors. I do not recommend. I can't wait til our lease is up
Recently looking to relocate was able to view the 2 bedroom at this complex, and besides, a well kept clean property which allows pets, especially dogs, it looks immaculate, like a resort. The staff was courteous and well knowledgeable and anxious to locate the best unit and view we were trying to locate. Great location, not too far a drive to the ocean and the Inter-state. Wonderful place to call home!!!
This apartment complex is overpriced and not worth your money. The office staff has an unfounded air of superiority when speaking with you even through their "thank you". A few of my neighbors have complained multiple times about cockroaches due to being near a gutter and the dumpster! So, make sure you check out your location before moving in! Also, we constantly has water flow issues with our sink. I asked multiple times about move out requirements. We cleaned the apartment spotlessly following the checklist and cleaned the carpets. We did not receive our deposit back AND we owed and additional $100.00. So, once you write that deposit check out don't expect to get it back. The layout for many of the units are bothersome. When unloading the dishes you have to close the washer to reach the cabinets... really? I've heard complaints about the 1 bedroom layout as well. The only great thing about this place is the pool and the gym, but those need some maintenance as well.
