Overture Barrett 55+ Active Adult Apartment Homes

I am very happy to be in this independent living facility. Even though I am new, I have enjoyed the yoga and strength training classes, but the friendly and welcoming staff and residents make me feel at home.

I love living here. I love my apartment, and the wonderful community here.

Renters beware!! Our experience with Overture Barrett was beyond unpleasant. Unfortunately, our move from Florida was hurried and we did not have ample time to explore the many other positive rental opportunities Kennesaw and the surrounding area has to offer. Although we paid for pest control and used the services frequently, we continued to have a problem with silverfish and frequently roaches could be found in the corridors. Residents living on the lower floors will experience noise from upper levels. The meagre amenities Overture offers in no way compensates for the excessively high rental rates - rates that have recently increased by 8% or more for most residents. In the fall of 2022, residents saw an increase of 200% to 400% in their water/sewer rates. Cobb County had not issued but a minimal rate increase since the beginning of 2022. Why the increase? Overture management was unable to explain the exorbitant increase. The current manager contradicted herself several times when questioned concerning the issue and blamed other entities for the problem. Beware of community costs being passed to the residents! We have recently vacated the property after less than a year in residence. However, prior to the completion of our lease, we returned to Overture to return our keys. Lo and behold! The garage we were renting and had vacated prior to the completion of our lease was being rented simultaneously by another resident - billing both of us! When we questioned the manager as to why she rented a garage we were currently paying for, she informed us that two recently departed employees should have contacted us, Of course, they are no longer employed and weren’t available for comment. Again, she passed the blame to others! In her position as manager, she needs to be responsible and held accountable. Too much deception and drama! Renters beware!

The residents for the most part are warm and welcoming. Most of us have come to this place because of proximity to our children. Trust between the office and he residents could be developed more.

I am appreciative of the way maintenance takes care of its residents.

The few months we have been here at Overture Barrett have been good. WE are active older adults, and Overture seems to fit us for our present season.

I have LOVED living at OVERTURE BARRETT for 4 years !! Quiet .. clean … activities provided if interested but don’t push anything if one wants privacy !! GREATEST PLACE for 55 !!!

Have been very pleased with my stay at Overture these past years.

We strongly suggest people look else where for rentals. For six months our water and sewer bills were consistently in line with Cobb County billing. Suddenly, all residents bills increased as much as triple! Management offered vague and conflicting explanations. However, they assured us this is the billing we can expect in the future. Being a 55 community, the majority of residents are retired and on fixed incomes. None of us signed up for this hardship and at a loss as to how to resolve it. Very unhappy with Overture Barrett and Greystar.

Overture is a beautiful facility with friendly accommodating staff and residents. Many opportunities for community interaction.

Lots of good folks residing here, and the staff is very helpful to resolve any issues!

The maintenance staff are kind and efficient and very good with communication.

Only been here almost two weeks. Overall everything is going well!

4 mo. Pest control problems. Lobby coffee machine always needs service. Problems with automatic poolside doors. Wheelchair problem during fire alarms. Apartment beautiful, rental fee would be appropriate, IF THE SHIP RAN SMOOTHLY!!!

OverallI am very content with living at Overture Barrett.

Overture Barrett is a good place to live. Friendly residents and friendly atmosphere. There are some good amenities for your enjoyment. The only bad thing I can say is, be prepared to throw some of your money away due to excessive wasted energy in all the public spaces.

I have lived here for almost 4 years and I love Overture. The staff and residents are always friendly and helpful. Always a lot to do for fun or privacy if that is what you want. I couldn't be happier!!

Overture Barrett is the best 55 community in the area. The appearance of the community cannot beaten. Management is readily available to discuss any and all issues. A very enjoyable place to live!

Overture Barrett is a beautiful and well thought out community to meet the needs of seniors. We looked at other communities in the area and none compare to this one. We would recommend it to friends.

The staff, and indeed the residents, have been very welcoming. I can see why our children, who live in this area, encouraged us to live here and not go into a nursing home. Even in our 80's we feel the support here is very adequate for our health issues.

Overture Barrett is nicely located for easy access to a variety of marketplaces, which eases the way for independent living. My wife and I look forward to the pleasures offered here at our new home at Overture Barrett.

Great place to live and enjoy the company of others of similar age and like mind. I've lived here for almost a year now and really like it. Although I don't participate as much as I would like, there are many activities, events and opportunities to socialize and get to know others.

This is such a beautiful facility and a wonderful location. Just a great place to live.

Overture Barrett is a safe, secure & well maintained environment in which we live!

This community management department does an excellent work on over all maintaining to please the residents and they do very well. Only thing I ask is to get a better method to keep a recycling program.

Everyone, including residents, management, and maintenance, makes me feel right at home. Housekeeping keeps everything smelling fresh and looking great.

My experience has been good. Maintenance requests have been taken care of in a timely way.

Overture is like a big extended family. Isolation is one of the biggest problems in the aging population. That needn"t happen here with activities and people who are always ready to engage in conversation.

I finally found the best place to spend the rest of my life. Overture is friendly and warm and has great activities!

I am happy with my decision to move here. This is my first month and everything has been fine.

I love my apartment and the people, however, many of us feel like Overture is now an assisted living facility and not the 55plus ACTIVE ADULT APARTMENTS we leased.

My apartment is very comfortable and very impressed at how quoet it is. Excellent soundproofing construction. LOVE being able to recycle right here not loading in car and driving as i did at old place.

We feel perfectly at home in this lovely peaceful beautiful community that Overture Barrett has created for us. This was one of the best decisions that we have made in a long time to move in to Overture, Barrett.

Overture provides a warm, accepting extended family atmosphere for folks over 55. There is no need to feel isolated here. There is always someone to talk with. Moving here saved my life.

I love my apartment, my balcony garden, the friendly residents, the wonderful exercise classes, water aerobics. Eli is a wonderful trainer. I still really like living here.
