The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at One Somerset
I’ve already made a review of this complex before and that review still stands. Good for a first but not the absolute best. However the main highlight for the complex is going away. That being the complementary Wi-Fi. That was the one and only saving grace of this place. So now I can no longer recommend this complex anymore. Look elsewhere for housing if you are a U of Indy student.

We sincerely appreciate your feedback. Due to issues arising with shared modems, management believes it best if each apartment secures their own, private WiFi connection. There are now several providers in the area and internet costs for individuals have decreased recently - especially with the many promotions currently being offered. We are proud of our many other community highlights including security and response, on-site management. Safety our of residents is a priority as evidenced by our 8-camera security system and new secured entry doors. We value all our residents and enjoy helping UIndy students with affordable and accommodating house.
I have had to opportunity to live at Somerset for a year and a half. I just recently moved out due to graduation :) I have lived in the 2 bedroom, and the 1 bedroom. Both apartment layouts use the space well. The apartment is also pet friendly. Shannon and Shawn are the best landlords I have ever encountered. Once you are a tenant, Shannon's office phone is connected to her cell phone so that you can reach them with any problems you need. I have always had a positive experience with maintenance, Alex, is a very sweet guy. Any other problems I had I could walk over to the office, or text Shannon. They always responded in a timely fashion, for me, she typically responds in the same hour if it is of importance. The price for the apartment given the location is affordable for college students, and cheaper than an on campus dorm or on campus apartment. Another positive to Somerset is that you only pay rent and electricity. Plus, it is walking distance to campus, and campus police still patrol the area around Somerset because it is in between College Crossings and The Lofts (both on-campus uindy apartments). The sense of community Shannon and Shawn foster at their apartment complex is awesome. Since I have lived there, they are constantly improving and upgrading things. They have repaved the parking lot, moved their leasing office into a more central location on the complex, painted the entire exterior of the complex, landscaped and planted flowers in the spring, and replaced the roof on all apartments. If I could move Somerset closer to my new job I wouldn't have moved because Shannon and Shawn are so great! Whether you are looking for a two bedroom or a one bedroom, if you are a UINDY student or someone looking to save money, this is the place for you.
We have rented an apartment at One Somerset for three years, and are happy to call this place home. The current landlords, Shawn and Shannon, are great. They do well to maintain and keep up the property and are constantly making improvements. They also are great at keeping up with the residents. Any time we have had an issue they are quick to help resolve it. They are very friendly and it definitely helps make it homey.

Thank you for calling Somerset your home for 3 years - we appreciate our long-term residents who help make our community top notch!
I’ve been living at Somerset’s apartments going on five years now. It’s a nice quiet and peaceful place. A great location for me going between school, work, and stores. Shannon and Shawn have been very kind and helpful to whatever concerns I’ve had as well as maintenance issues. I definitely recommend looking into getting a room here rather you’re a college student looking to move off campus or someone who just needs an affordable place to live.

Thank you for your loyal residency! We truly appreciate our tenants who renew their leases year after year, and those who notice our responsiveness. We could not agree with you more ~ Somerset is a quiet, friendly, and affordable community conveniently located near UIndy, downtown, shopping and employment.
One Somerset Apts is a great place to live. It is a safe environment. I relocated to Indianapolis from South Carolina for work. Shawn and Shannon (property managers) have gone above and beyond to make sure I am comfortable.

So are so glad you made Somerset your "home away from home" - we love this quiet, safe community too!
As a student, not only are the maintained apartments affordable, but management really cares. It is a clean, quiet community with friendly people. I highly recommended living here!

We love managing Somerset Apartments and all of our great residents!
I’ve lived here for a little over a year and let me start off by saying management is absolutely wonderful! They are sweet, kind and have a very positive outlook. They genuinely care about the people who live here. If you have a maintenance request they are quick to fix the problem. The two bedrooms are very spacious I have myself, boyfriend, 2 large dogs and a newborn and we have plenty of room. I don’t typically use the laundry room but the few times I’ve gone in there it’s very clean and well maintained. For the amount of college kids who live here it is very quite. Somerset goes above and beyond for the residents. Highly recommend living here!!

We adore our wonderful residents! Customer service is our top priority and we appreciate you noticing how clean and quiet it is.
I have lived here for over a year now and I have no complaints! If something needs fixed around the apartments, Shawn and Shannon are on it right away which I have never seen before. I recommended a friend to live here and I would do it again.

I’ve lived here 3 terms. The apartments are Great and Management is even Greater. They are fast with repairs if needed. There is an open door policy of you want to chat or have needs . Genuinely kind people. I enjoy living here. It's a quiet community. It’s within walking distance of stores and restaurants. There is even a track for walking and jogging. I highly recommend this apartment complex. You won’t be disappointed.

We appreciate you noticing how much we care about our residents and each apartment home - thank you for being part of our community for 3 years!
Great ownership and management. Extremely competitive prices, on site manager, newly renovated apartment, all college students, 5 minute walk to furthest building on campus. Not sure what the 130 electric bill was about for the other reviewer. Mine is at worst 60 dollars for a one bedroom in the winter. The last I checked, electric is billed on usage... I am suprised the other reviewer didnt complain about not playing water or internet, which are included in rent. Almost any other apartment complex in this price range around Uindy will have serious problems such as safety and security. Plus you are within 5 minutes walking distance to campus, no drive! Could not recommend a better place to live. Low price does not reflect a comprimise in quality in any way.
I rented 2 different sized units during my stay at University Place Apartments between August 2013 - July 2015 and was extremely pleased with the quality, cost, location and overall experience. Owner and Manager were great to work with and took care of the grounds regularly. I enjoyed having laundry facilities on-site, a security system and the amount of available parking spaces. The overall cost and quality is GREAT! I'd recommend to anyone looking for a QUALITY apartment in a PEACEFUL environment within 4-MINUTES of walking distance from the University of Indianapolis.
