The hamlet of Coram, with its strategic location along Middle Country Road, is an active community centrally located in the town of Brookhaven. Coram retains a small-town charm and familiarity, perhaps owed to the dozens of local and well-established independent businesses in the area. Residents in Coram have no shortage of local shopping, eating and additional services to productively occupy their free time.
A key advantage to life in Coram is its location next to major roads and highways. Commuting to and from work, potential traffic aside, proves convenience for residents because of this unrestricted access to important roads. A mix of low- and mid-rise apartments coupled with single-family homes means there’s something for every renter here.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Oakview Apartments
So just wanna say the customer service was great all my questions were answered respectfully in a timely manner. Speak to Alice she is a wonderful person. As far it goes for the Apartments it’s quiet and clean maintenance is always ready to help and fast. Don’t recommend coming here if you do not own a car but there is public transportation.
I wanted to post a review about an awful phone call I had with someone from the office a while back. To my surprise, I saw someone else on here post about the very same thing: “ Very Rude” A lady left me a voicemail, I called back, and the way the call was handled, was bad. They literally yelled “I said WHEN!” They also said they don’t know when the apartment would be ready despite it showing as available online. Terrible soft customer service skills over the phone. If this is how it’s like for a candidate, I can’t even imagine how it is for people who live there. The phone call me not even want to rent from here. I’d rather pay more and have people who are polite; and have great customer service skills.
Based on the call alone I wouldn’t even dare trying to live here if “requirements” were met. The woman was very rude and hung up on me after saying what she had to say and barely let me ask any questions. I take into account customer service and things as such when looking for a community to live in because it kind of gives me an idea of what I’ll be dealing with. It’s a no thankyou and I’d give zero stars if I could. Additionally, why have something up if it isn’t available and then proceed to be rude about someone inquiring about it? Despicable.
My boyfriend and I moved in a couple months ago and so far no real complaints. The leasing agent Alice is very nice and was great during the whole process. The grounds are nice, clean pretty well lit at night and there seems to be a good mix of people staying there. We did have one issue with a leak in the bathroom and maintenance was very prompt in fixing the issue and we haven't had any other problems since. My only complaints would be one, they put a lock box on the thermostat when the weather started getting cold. The apartment is comfortable and the heat does kick on periodically but given that I get cold very easily I'd have much rather preferred to be able to control the temperature myself but that's not really a complaint. Second complaint would be security, the complex is gated with a security booth that you pass when entering or exiting the complex and around 8pm the security poles come down. As a resident you get a sticker that goes in your window that let's the security poles up so you can enter freely but any nonresident would have to get permission to enter from security BUT there have been a few instances when my boyfriend and I come home late and the pole at the security booth is just up, meaning just anyone could come in. The area seems quite but the point of having the complex gated is to make sure the residents are safe and that only authorized people are allowed to enter but if security isn't doing their job what's the point in having them.
This is a great place but the grounds are not cared for as described. There are no trash cans or benches and way worse is the landing for handicapped is not available for those who have wheelchairs on certain units. The place would fair to have a recreation area. The park is overrun with young drug dealers when the children are able to go and play. The management needs to take more concern with the condition of the units and the peace & enjoyment of those who do rent there. Security is at a minimal even at night, they are either sleeping in the booth or paying no attention. Very frustrating to tenants! Oakwood managment come up to par with just the necessities and you just might have a great place to live on Long Island.
