Oak Walk

Unfortunately my experience at Oakwalk apartment was beyond unpleasant and I have to give my concerns regarding this place for future tenants. The management does not believe in good faith and will try to take all your deposit with charges you will be amazed. I lived in Oakwalk for about a year and I wish there was a review less than 1 star that I could give, here is the list of issues in here: - Unfortunately the place is surrounded with homeless people, some people live on the benches in front of the apartment and it results in smelling urine outside, packages being lost multiple times and hearing uncomfortable comments whenever you walk outside of the apartment (day or night!) - During my stay here the manager was very unresponsive. I had multiple accidents regarding my packages being stolen and when I contacted the manager about it, without any effort they replied that they are aware of the problem and suggested I send my mails to another place. - The management does not practice good faith and aim to come up with charges to get all your deposit taken from you at the end of the lease. After I vacate the apartment I spent a whole day cleaning the place and then I was charged with 75$ for carpet cleaning, 145$ for apartment cleaning and 250 for floor replacement!! (which summed up to my whole deposit). So be aware if you are considering leaving your deposit in this place. - The callbox does not work and management told me it will be fixed within few months when I moved in. But whenever I contacted them about it they said it wont be resolved (and it was never resolved (12 month after my move)) This place may sound a good deal when you hear about the rent but it does not worth all the hassle! Just get a place a little more expensive and have the experience of dealing with more professional people!

I’ve been living here in 1 bedroom unit over 2 years and I really like this apartment. pretty new(Built in 2009), Quick access to highway, non stop bus from right in front of apartment to San Francisco Salesforce transit center, 16min 4stops by Bart from Mac Arthur station to San Francisco Embarcadero station. No floor noise, Safe security, assigned remote control gated and covered parking garage, bike storage. Common bbq area & sink in courtyard, common fitness room, dogs and cats allowed, central heating, good water pressure shower(which is very important to me), Washer and dryer in unit, hardwood floor(except bedroom - clean carpet). Many electric outlet on the wall and kitchen counter top, big fridge, big cabinet(i have so many plates), dish washer, granite counter tops, ice maker, filtered water on fridge. Microwave, oven, big sized bathroom, dual bathroom doors to my bedroom and living room, high ceiling, Big sized Elevator, property cleaning every Thursday. Safe parcel(inside the building), intercom connect with my i phone so that I can open the building gate for my friends in my unit with my phone. Paying rent on-line with No fee is very convenient. 10sec walk to 7-eleven, Core society fitness. 1min walk to Bank of America, i hop, sushi house, panda express, subway sandwich, pizza, baskin robbins. 2min walk to KFC, CVS, bakery, pizza, starbucks, Safeway Pak N Save. free shuttle(emery go-round shuttle) and walkable to Mac Arthur Bart station, Best buy, Target, Ikea, Ross, Michaels, Home depot,Office depot, Trader joes, westelm, eq3, Victoria’s secret, Gap and many other my favorite stores and restaurants(Bay street emeryville shopping center). The previous management team Zak was really wonderful and Victor is still wonderful maintenance staff. After management changed, I didn’t have any bad issue. Last winter, one morning there was a person sleeping in front of our main gate but after that day, nothing happened again and the entrance is always clean. I am a very particular person but I am really satisfied with my apartment so far. I wish I could buy my unit. I am so sad there is 1 star review. The location and in unit facility is so perfect to me.

Former resident here - management at Oak Walk is terrible. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. It's good that the post includes a picture of the leasing office with an empty chair, because that's the only way you'll ever see the office. There are real security and cleanliness concerns around the building entrances, which management has chosen to ignore.
