Mangement will keep most of your deposit when you move out. They will make it your fault if the office was closed, and no one was available to receive the fab. They don't even have a secure location to drop it off in event of office closure. They charge an enormous apartment cleaning when you move out. Proceed with caution!

All 1 star reviews are the most accurate. Moved out of this place over a month ago and couldn’t be more pleased. The property manager and the leasing agents are extremely rude and disrespectful. They don’t know how to properly address tenants and treat people with the upmost DISRESPECT!! Building is never managed and left looking so bad. Floors are never vacuumed, garage doors always broken, leakages, broken signs, and elevators left broken down without notices to tenants.

Apartment is are nice and clean. However, there are a lot of broken amenities, such as the flat tv on the 7th floor not working, or the fire place not turning on. Then there is the strong use of mariguana every night coming from other tenants unit. An issue that I know is hard for Management to take care of as it always happens after hours...

We had to complete an electrical repair which happened about 10 days ago and are working with our service provided to get the channels restored. If you have the time, please stop by the office so that we can walk you through how to use the fireplace on the 7th floor - it's completely operational just may not be the most user intuitive to activate. Regarding the marijuana smell, we understand that this can be frustrating and are happy to work with you to pinpoint who may be the cause. I like my apartments, I am delighted with the pool and the gym, I am happy when I can spend time with friends in the relaxation area or the barbecue area, and if you need to work, you can visit the office area. A large parking lot, a good transport interchange, shops and restaurants are all close to the residential complex.

I agree 100% with the previous review. You can find a much better building with better management for the same price. Over the last year the garage door was broken, the call box was broken, part of the first floor was closed for most of the year. There was no urgency to fix anything. The building management changes every few months. They are very unhelpful and actually quite annoying. Overall, this place sucks. If you plan to live here, please know you’re in for a lot of headaches related to this place.
They shut down all of the common areas in March, at the onset of the pandemic. It is now October and they have never opened up any of the areas once. Other properties in the DTLA area were allowing their residents to use the outdoor common areas by appointment and on a socially distanced basis. Meanwhile, the leasing office employees have never once worn masks while walking around and showing people the property. I have shared the elevator MANY times with leasing office agents who do not wear masks. I am now at an apartment building that has opened its pool and outdoor amenities and cleans them regularly—the residents socially distance and are able to enjoy the outdoor spaces. If you go on a tour and the agents tell you they are getting ready to open up the common spaces again, they are lying to you. Things stay broken for a very long time in the building. The intercom broke to a point where a security guard had to open the front door to let us inside the building. The leasing office promised a fix for MONTHS and the intercom stayed broken. The garage door to the parking garage broke in June and did not get fixed until October. The fire alarm for the entire building went off several times during the year and we had to evacuate for no reason. When I first moved in, I asked the leasing office agents specifically whether there was a freight elevator that I could use to move my things to the 7th floor. Everett told me no there was no such thing as a freight elevator and they had no way of locking the elevator for me. I had to use the front door to the leasing office where there is heavy foot traffic, to move in. When I was moving out the same way, a maintenance employee saw me and offered to lock the freight elevator for me in the back of the building to make it easier for the movers. Literally from beginning to end, Oakwood is the absolute worst and the people who work there are actively unhelpful.
