Property Ratings at Thrive at University City
DO NOT MOVE HERE..there have been several incidents that occurred on this property. No, management does not have control over it, however, they are refusing to put in cameras, hallway gates, or any type of equipment to ensure the resident’s safety. Bullets are flying while children are outside playing, broad day light (no email was sent to residents). Over 6 vehicles have been STOLEN from this property in the month of august (during the day). They will not inform any residents about these occurrences because they’re more concerned about occupancy rates. The safety and security of residents is NOT IMPORTANT. You will not get in touch with corporate, save yourself a headache and heartache!!
Metro University City is a pretty kool place to stay I really like the atmosphere.

Happy you have chosen Metro University City for your home! Thanks for the 5-Star Review.
I also didn’t believe this was a real place when we looked online. After moving in it was better than we expected. This was definitely the right place for us!

Beautiful community and the management team is great. No real issues or concerns with them. Everything gets handled in a timely manner and it’s conveniently located near the highway, shopping, and grocery. The gas station is also next door. Security patrols the area as well, which is good and helps me feel safe.

The application was very easy with a decision on the spot. The move in process was very smooth and the apartment itself is amazing. I love the community and everything they have to offer their residents.

Hello, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at Metro University City. We're glad you chose us to call home. If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help!
This place is horrible! The noise transfer between floors is awful, when I first moved in I was amazed by how quiet it was, it was only because the floor above me was vacant. There lockout policy is if you get locked out after the office closes good luck. I was forced to check my carry-on item as I boarded my flight and my luggage which had my keys was left in New Jersey. The company refused to let me in, the suggestion from the emergency on call staff was if I had any friends that I could stay with or stay at a hotel until the next day when the office will be open. The guy that I spoke to told me that it’s for my own protection because they would wanna verify before opening an apartment to someone that it belong to them; it makes complete sense so why haven’t you guys figure out a way to verify your residence after hours so you’re on call emergency stuff can help residence. If you already know what the problem is should’ve already come up with a solution. Charlotte is a growing city with with X pats from other locations, you shouldn’t assume that your resident has family or friends in the same city that they can stay with as I do not. To me this is an unsafe and dangerous policy if I were a young female and I was coming home late at night and I lost my keys I would want to know that I could count on my apartment complex to ensure that I get access safely into my apartment versus being stuck on the side of the road late at night. Not to mention the constant shootings in the complex, someone was shooting down the hall from me, extremely scary.

Office staff is extremely kind & courteous, maintenance staff is awesome & communicates well, the apartments are very nice and spacious
The staff is attentive; kind and empathetic towards residents issues.
Beautiful community! Most convenient location in charlotte just off the highway and across from the Blue line!
I love this location because of the close proximity to the train.
I love my apartment and the cleanliness of the facilities, people like Claudia and Aj go above and beyond and they’re just exceptional employees they both deserve raises and praise in some way from management!!!!!
I have no complaints with living in the Metro University City apartment complex. The property is always properly kept and maintained. Communication is great and guidelines are addressed by all management.
I know this place looks sparkly and fun on the site but it’s really just a pig (greedy, clumsy and sloppy) with lipstick on it. Want a unit with DIRECT SUNLIGHT, PRIVACY, AND A NICE VIEW? In this new mental health, It’s a pandemic outside so I need plants inside, social media era? DIRECT SUNLIGHT IS HUGE. Only bldg 1 gets all 3. And it’s only the top 2 floors. There’s so many affordable complexes that have all 3. The biggest problems here are with construction and location and therefore cannot be fixed. It’s barely a year old and it already looks very lived in. On site for a few moments it looks pretty nice. Pay close attention especially buildings 3 and 4. They took their time with the first 2. Also before it got cold the police and/or fire department were here literally every week. There’s so much more but I don’t have enough space.

Hi, Scarlet. We are sorry to see you had a negative experience with our community. Please reach out to us by calling (980) 474-2637 or e-mail metrouniversitycity@bellpartnersinc.com so that we can discuss your experience further.
Please do not move here. This is a very high crime area in which managements only solution is that we have security which we NEVER Ever see on site!
Kristin was super accommodating by giving my roommate and I a tour as walkins. She was very knowledgeable on the various units and answered all of our questions, she was our first tour in a day full of apartment tours we'd schedule and Metro City was by far our favorite community but it was also our best experience with a leasing agent or community manager. We didn't hesitate when deciding where we wanted to live.
All staff have been very helpful and responsive so for. All questions and concerns were addressed in a timely manner.
These are suppose to be nice luxury apartments but they are not. The appliances are cheap and the neighborhood is very dirty. My child stepped in poop multiple times there has been poop in the hallways pee on the elevator and homeless people sleeping in the hallway. It is not safe there is no cameras and there has also been a shooting in the neighborhood last year. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Management does not help at all!
I have been living in this apartment complex for 6 months now and it has been a terrible living experience. The management is not capable of resolving issues in a timely manner or at all. This property is affordable luxury apartments but the other issues make it not even worth it. Residents let their pets poop all over the complex and elevators instead of utilizing the dog park. (Management does not clean up often)
Mosby, Mosby, Mosby. This property had great potential when I first moved here but wow…this property went downhill fast. I think it’s safe to say a lot of us living here won’t be renewing our leases.
There have been several issues with this apartment. The staff has not been very helpful in resolving them.
My power has been going out almost daily since november. It is now May with no resolution in sight. Management has not been helpful in resolving this matter. Code enforcment has issued violations.
We just moved in yesterday! It was smooth and easy! Great location too.
I had the opportunity to tour this property a couple weeks ago and I was amazed on the unique features and luxury ad ons. The buildings had a very clean modern look with great landscaping. Inside the apartment buildings had an elevator, which is a great feature. Most apartments now adays only have stairs for exterior separate buildings. The inside of the apartments were perfection. Big layouts with a beautiful kitchen, tall windows and great appliances. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone in the Charlotte/ university area!
