Property Ratings at Monterra Village
Management runs this place so bad. They don’t update you on anything and the office staff works about half of the time they are supposed to be there. Lack of Communication is frustrating here.
Someone wrote a review awhile back about Monterra taking their money, and I can see how that is true now. It has been a nightmare trying to get my deposit back. I was told that my check was lost somehow. Last week I went in office to ask about it and was told that I would be issued a new check. I was told it would take 1-2 weeks. I was called later that day and told that it would be mailed out by Monterra in a few days (Tuesday or Wednesday). I asked if I could pick it up in person so that we would not have any issues with it being lost again, and I was told that was fine. I call today to get an update and I get told that it would be 30 days now by the same leasing agent that said it would be ready for pick up today or tomorrow. If you are looking at leasing here, STAY AWAY. I would also like to mention that while we lived here it was nearly impossible to reach the office or get a response sometimes. That should tell you what kind of place this is. I will be filing a complaint to the better business bureau.
Once your lease is signed, you go from community resident to a name on a spreadsheet that pays them money. -1 star for the apartment manager who refuses to communicate unless it’s weeks later in an email. Don’t expect a call back. -1 star for safety as break ins happen semi often. -1 star for quality of living. The 2 stars are for the amenities (when they are actually open) and the location.
This place has a very bad mouse problem and marks work orders complete when you report it but does absolutely nothing about it.
The environment of this complex feels more like a residential area than an apartment complex. When visiting, the greeting is very warm, friendly and professional. Madison, especially, is outstanding! So it Kendall. They were part of the reason I came back and leased!
I put a deposit down on a 3 bedroom apartment. Then 3 days later a house deal fell through, and I wasn't going to be moving after all. I had not signed a lease at all, and I wasn't even supposed be moving in until over 2 months later. I called Monterra immediately, as it had only been 3 days, and told them what happened. I was informed that they would be keeping my $540. I told them I was going to cancel the check, which I did. Now, they are coming after me for a $75 returned check fee, plus $540. Really classy, Monterra.
I am in my second lease at Monterra Village and could not be happier. The staff is great and the family-friend atmosphere is like no other. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else!
Hillwood does an amazing job managing the two apartment locations they own. The family-like feeling that encompasses Monterra Village is unlike any other.
I moved here from the East coast with no family and friends. The staff here is awesome. The property is always clean and I've had no issues with neighbors, occasionally there is loud music but the apartments are pretty thick so its muffled. I have an awesome view of the sunset every evening and can't imagine living somewhere else in the area. Oh, and did I mention the complex is smoke fee? This was a major plus for me. Apartment is situated near up and coming shopping and really no need to go to the "city" unless you want a drive. Nice neighborhood, decent neighbors, good eats and shopping, 10 minutes from work, and did I mention SMOKE FREE!
