Pico-Robertson is a popular Los Angeles neighborhood situated directly south of Beverly Hills and east of Century City. Despite its location in the heart of glittery West Los Angeles near the Miracle Mile, Beverlywood, Carthay, and Cheviot Hills, Pico-Robertson is much more low-key. You won't find trendy hotspots and wild nightlife in Pico-Robertson, but you will find a strong sense of community and a quiet setting.
Pico-Robertson offers a unique collection of delis, bakeries, and more. It is named for the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Robertson Boulevard, and that's where you'll find the majority of the neighborhood's shops, restaurants, and cafes.

Property Ratings at MONACO APARTMENTS - 1216-1220 S Corning St
Updated appliances, good neighborhood. Mgmt impossible to get in touch with. Cleaned place top to bottom upon move out and they still retained a portion of our deposit
Overall the apartments are pretty nice/new-ish. The amenities are great -- AC, W/D, walk-in closets, parking. They are small apartments, and so I would recommend more for a couple vs. 2 roommates, as the guest bedroom is significantly smaller and there is no hallway/linen closet. The neighborhood is nice and safe, some walkable places. But there are 2 schools on either side, so children yelling every day, banging balls against walls. For some reason, the dumpsters are kept right below all the bedroom windows. So if you live in the middle of complex, you have to deal with dumpster slamming and garbage day 2x week. If you live in one of the outside units, you get the children yelling at 730am daily (especially back units). All the patios/balconies face each other, so there'a an echo, and i never see anyone on the balconies, cause you're kind of exposed. The first story porches are more private, but again, everyone can hear EVERYthing. But nice for storage/plants. The walls are kind of thin inside (not the worst i've experienced), but you can only arrange the room in a certain way. So your neighbors bed will be on the same wall as yours. It's also SUPER dusty. I stared snoring... went on vacation, no snoring. Get an air purifier. And the porches flood when it rains cause the balcony gutters lead into the porches! So it gets dirty. Pet friendly! Everyone has dogs. Management takes a long time to respond, but have been good about fixing things. Beware hidden fees: On top of having to pay for your own power/electric/gas with LADWP... the building charges you an extra $60-100 a month for sewer, trash, and water... and never provided me with a bill or proof why it cost that much. People come and go here. No one stays longer than a year. Lots of young couples. It's kind of the perfect starter apartment for a newly moved-in couple. I needed somewhere that would last a year.. and this has honestly worked out for me.
