The neighborhood of Southmont lies two miles south of Greensboro's city center and 14 miles from the Piedmont Triad International Airport. Freeman Mill Road forms the western border, while Randleman Road is on the east side. The north and south boundaries are Garrett Street and Kirkman Street, respectively. Southmont is less than three miles from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and Bennett College and North Carolina AT&T State University sit nearby as well. Just follow Freeman Mill Road to easily reach the city center or take the bus — several bus stops are scattered throughout the neighborhood.
